Why does everyone have such low populations?

Population: (From below 1,000,000-15,000,000).
Religion: Worship of The Deep
Government: Monarchy
Race: Akua (Awku-ah) - The Akua are a race of amphibians, an evolutionary link between late lungfish and the earlier amphibians that took to the land, the Akua are on average lanky and tall, standing at an average of 6'6", though their distinctive hunch makes them appear to be a good foot shorter. Akua come in multiple colors and patterns, ranging from blues to bright oranges and yellows and anything in-between, with these denoting familial lines much like stripe patterns do in Zebra.
Culture: Akuan culture (WIP)

Geography: Top three islands to the west.
Size:
Maximum size of 600,000 square miles
(From 1/10th of a mile per 100 people, to 5 miles per 100 people).

Hey! Threw this together quickly using microsoft paint and a random map generator. I can do minor modifications, such as adding new islands, but changing the landmass is difficult due to the nature of the generator.
