The idea i have for this is that some huge catastrophe occurs in the Pokemon world maybe caused by some team rocket type organization although i'm considering some sort of threat from space scenario as that sounds a lot more generally epic i guess. Nonetheless, these events would cause a need for a master trainer to be sent to face whatever the cause of the events would be, just as some sort of last hope for humanity and stuff like that. Upon his failure the whole world would be plunged into a darkness of natural disasters and just bad things leaving people to live in small pockets of civilization among the rubble of the once great cities and in large ships that just perpetually sail around and collect supplies that they then distribute among the various regions. The actual rp parts of this would revolve around new trainers existing in this world that go out into the dangerous world and attempt to do what the master trainer failed to in an attempt to regain what humanity had lost. I dont think i have really fully thought about all the details so any suggestions would be very welcome.

EDIT: To be clear, this is not sarcasm. I'm genuinely interested in this RP. I'm so used to sarcasm in my day-to-day that sometimes I'm overbearingly sarcastic without realizing it. Once again, totally sincere.

I had not even seen the Gears Of War similarities until now but it is pretty apparent the ship thing especially but it really just seemed like an ideal way to include multiple regions for like maximum post apocalyptic city exploration.
