I will say that compared to other active forums I know of, Spam changes less.

I literally know no one left in most of my old stomping grounds, the places have changed completely.

It's really weird to watch people rise and fall. There's a hefty portion of spammers now that I can name that don't come around anymore.

I've always had a wave theory of Spam. I think it's because a lot of the more "popular" members form a lot of tight bonds with the other "popular" members. Then when one of them leaves they all go away together.

Then a new group comes in, we have this vaccuum of relevance and suddenly everyone's tight and it's a new group of people and it's like nothing changed.

I'd argue that it's about the same. We just think it's worse because our old friends aren't here anymore.

Although that's an interesting point.

Now I need to reassess this. There is a definitive grouping of users who are from older "waves" that have all kinda clustered together and act in a similar way.

it's like ghosts, who stay behind past their time for various reasons.

The grouping of these people is also very interesting.

Having watched the spam section since it's foundation on Oldguild, spam itself has changed little, yet the people within are ever shifting.
