One of the mods (Guru, I think) said on Facebook that it's just because the servers need to be upgraded to match the higher-than-expected traffic through the site. Once they get the upgrade, which Mahz was apparently planning to do anyway, things should be smoother.

I remember this happening on oldguild before the servers were upgraded. They'd go down around 7pm mst like clockwork.
