Brandy was quiet as she watched the other members of her group. They were on a very small boat in the middle of the ocean just floating somewhere, no idea where. She was quite nervous but, she didn't show it. She had no idea who these people were, she only knew their names. Never communiated with them until today when they were put in the same group.

She fingered the straps of her backpack absentmindly, instead focusing on the island that was approaching steadily. She squinted her eyes, hoping to see it clearer. It looked abandoned and she was already thinking of multiple ways to possibly get off this island. She stored it away in her mind for later use. Because right now they needed to get off this boat and onto land.

Escaping the island can come later.

Randy Becke was sitting on the edge of the boat. He hadn't talked to anyone during the duration of the field trip, mostly he had just been in the wilderness (close to the group), and looking at the animals. He had a think for animals. He had been told he was Philotherianism, and he believed that. He'd been obsessed with animals every since he was a kid. He was a bit of an outcast, though, known for being the weird animal kid. A bird landed on their boat. He petted it, and it didn't fly away. He sighed. He did have a family, though, if they stayed on the island he'd probably be stuck with the animals, which would be great, but he had a family. He was going to get back home, one way or another.

Derek watched his classmates, his hands tightly gripped his backpack. As the approached land, Derek unzipped his backpack and did a quick scan of the items he had. He had his almost empty bottle of water, a knife, a flashlight and some rope. Derek sighed, he wished he had packed more for this trip. Derek watched quietly as the boat neared the island. He was nervous.

Sinclair slung his backpack onto the boat floor,unbuttoned it, and opened. "What do we have here..?" He looked in closer. "An... apple? Huh, we also have a pencil... and a notebook... Wow, I don't think this will get me far..."

Alli was getting very irritable under the heat, sitting on the edge with her feet skimming on the surface of the ocean. "Who's brilliant idea was it to get on this damn raft?" She said, glaring at the island as it came closer and closer. "This is not how I want to die..." She continued, now with a hint of fear in her eyes.

Randy opened up his backpack and checked his things, because was doing it. "Let's see, I got some Trail Mix and a book about birds." he said as he looked through his backpack. Not a lot, but the Trail Mix would keep him not hungry for a while. He started eating it.

Sinclair tapped Randy on the back. "We're going to have to ration that, be careful with the amount you eat..." Sinclair then pulled out his notebook and pencil. "Not that much of an artist, but I suppose this could help..." Sinclair began to do a light sketch of the island.

Derek took a deep breath as the boat hit the shore. Derek gripped onto the side of the boat as it rocked. Derek stood up and got off the raft. Derek looked around the island, his eyes scanning the area, taking in the surroundings. Derek looked at the group, "Now what?"

Quickly jumping off the raft, she brushed the dirt off her hands against her shorts. "Let's make camp near the beach for now" she said. Alli blocked the sun hitting into her eyes, by using her hand. She looked around the island, "This place is huge..." she muttered.
Looking at Sinclair and Derek, "We gotta watch out for other creatures on this island" she said with a worried frown on her face.

"I gotta flashlight, knife, rope, my leather jacket and a little water" Derek pulled out his water bottle and took a sip. He offered the bottle to the rest of the group. "We should find more water, the temperature on this island can reach 110 degrees." Derek was glad he was wearing cargo shorts and a blue t shirt.

Alli peered into her bag as well. She pulled out a half bottle of water, 2 chocolate bars (which were starting to melt), a pack of gum, few mints, and a spare pair of a tank top and shorts. Her weakness was sweets, which she always had some on her, where ever she went.
She quickly shoved them back in. "Well this isn't going to help. Who knew we would be in this mess." She said with a look of disappointment.

"We obviously" can't take water from the area around the island, as it would be salted. So, we'll have to go inland. I have a notebook, a pencil, an apple and...?" Sinclair checked the main compartment. "Nothing...?" Sinclair then heard something rattle from the front compartment. "Oh, and... a timer...?"

Brandy saw the others looking through their backpacks and decided to follow along. She looked through her backpack. "2 water bottles....a sandwich.....medical herbs notebook and book....pencil and sharpener.....herbs." She said under her breath as she shuffled through her backpack. "Pretty useful." She said under her breath as well. Deciding to close her backpack placing it back on her back. They were closer to land now.

Randy wasn't paying attention to the others, instead, he had walked to the nearest tree, and climbed it. He saw some birds and squirrels, much to his delight. He layed back on a long and wide branch looked up into the sky, thinking about the island. It sure was full of creatures of nature. He could get used to this, sitting on a tree, surrounded by animals he loves.

Derek took out his knife, he quickly cut down a thick branch. Using his knife he sharpened the tip, making a spear. Derek put on his backpack and looked at the group, "We better start moving before it gets dark." Derek had watched his fair share of survival shows, he knew the basics, he just hoped he could actually do the things he saw on TV.

Alli slung her bag over her head, across her chest, and tied her hair up to keep it from sticking onto her face. "Okay" she said, nodding with agreement. She gazed towards the tree where Randy seemed to be resting in. "Hey you, Randy, were gonna get moving" she said loud enough for him to hear.

Brandy had nodded when it seemed Derek had a plan. She had no idea about what was on this island but, she knew that it was best to stick in a group. She made sure her backpack was adjusted correctly and she picked up a few rocks she saw along the beach while waiting for the group to start moving. The rocks would be useful for later.

"Alright, I'll be down in a moment." he shouted back down to her. After a moment, he sat up and looked to the birds one last time. He climbed down the tree and walked back over to the other people. He waited for them to start moving along.
