Plan to have a post up tomorrow, I'm sorry if I don't post everyday. But I'll at least post every second day.

So, I was wondering... do we ever log off in this RP? Like, it seems a bit unrealistic to always be online unless it's an SAO-type scenario and we're trapped in the game. My character has a job and we all need to sleep and feed ourselves and stuff. So how would we RP going offline?

I figure when you want to 'log off' you can do just that. maybe have black out times. Like say "Okay we'll go do the thing first thing tomorrow!" Though once the main storyline starts kicking off...you may not -want- to log out.

It's not a matter of wanting to, it's that our characters have lives outside the game. However, roleplaying outside the game will be rather boring most likely.. The issue of having to go to work/eat/sleep would be resolved if we were stuck in the game.

Hmm...alright when you bring up needing to log out. I can cause that. It wasnt the original plan...but *shrug* I can.

I mean, I'm all for hearing other ideas.. I'm just concerned with the realisticness of never logging out when we have the option to do so

Well, if you think about it, a game such as this already isn't realistic. So then why bother about details like food and sleep?

Well, I wouldn't care if we hadn't gone to the trouble of making real characters outside the game. What was the point of doing that if we never use them? And it negates my first post where I say that I'll just log on for an hour or so before making dinner. It's not so much a problem with realism as an issue with ignoring the conventions that the RP set up from the beginning.

I agree about the point that we had created real characters and so we should use them.

But...

Our real characters do not know each other. (At least not to my knowledge.)
So if they were to log out, they would likely be alone, living out 'life.' (Separate from other Roleplayers.) So, it seems to me, we would be roleplaying by ourselves for half the time. (To me, that is sort of boring, as I am just posting my stuff up, with no one else to reply to or anything.)

Why not, worry about logging out a little later. After our characters get to know each other a little more? (This way it would be at least more likely that they could/would meet up outside the game, as they already discussed their life outside the game, while they were playing in the game.)

To make it as if we aren't hopelessy addicted to this game/giving up life's activities in order to keep playing the game... (Like playing all day long upon the first day that we logged into the game...) Why don't we make it so that time passes much quicker in the game then it does outside the game? For example:1 hour in the game is only 10 minutes outside the game.

Also, if we are going to log out, then our characters should let their "companions" know when they'll be back and come to an agreement so they can meet up again soon. (For example like a 'meet up' point decided between them somewhere that if all else fails, they will likely see each other there sometime.)

Anyway I think there ought to be potential for 'surprise logouts'. For example that on a stretch of playing the game a little too long my mother comes into my room and yells at me for 'over doing a privilege', that way the real character directly and sometimes suddenly affects the game character's existence as I have to quickly log out.

Sorry if this is a lot to read... I just like to brainstorm. :P

I agree that it would be boring to rp outside of the game, that's why I was concerned with what we'd do when we log out.. I like the time difference idea though. I just thought I'd voice this concern now before it becomes more of an issue.

Also, Gareth, do you plan to continue to rp the twins? Do you think maybe you should make character sheets for them?

I would like to continue playing the twins. Yeah I think it would be better if I made character sheets for them. I will have them up tomorrow though.

Lol I was about to bring that up. The twins thing. Yes, if you're going to keep playing them please post a CS for them. I dont mind you having multiple characters as long as they flow. And You wont have to worry about logging out soon. I think i've got it figured out how it would work. Because how i originally had it,is...well...If you've ever Seen the Anime for .hack. Its like that. People are in and out and only available at certain times...but you're right for an rp setting if all the action is happening here...might as well just -keep- you all here. *smiles* I've got it all figured out. Just get to lvl 5, and lets get you started on that dungeon...it'll happen there.

Character sheet for your "Real Life" Character

Names:Seph And Tern
Ages:20

I hate to say it, but I'm bored... is there any way we could do a time lapse and get to the real story already? Doing these little quests just seems pointless..
