• When Kaya isn't grinning from ear to ear, she looks like a porcelain statue.
She is pale, small, slender and sleek. (Not to mention slippery. Perhaps she

• At night she looks like a ray of walking moonlight. But however graceful that may
sound she does not carry herself like a refined lady. Instead she moves much like
a will-o-whisp, bouncing up and around and dances whenever she fancies.

show on her face. Kaya has the start of crow's feet and laughter lines creasing

PERSONALITY:

• Kaya is a supportive character, both on and off the battle field. She
prioritises the safety of those she cares about before her own. She
has already lost her husband and she does not want to lose any more
of her loved ones.

• Kaya does not enjoy confrontation. She's more than willing to back
down from an argument and subtly manipulate the odds in her favour
from the background to get the results she wants. These days,
however, this ability of hers is used for good (or what she thinks is
good) and not for selfish reasons or self satisfaction.

• While she is sweet and non-confrontational, she defends her loved
ones with a dragon's ferocity. Number one on that list is Sandata,
then her friends come next. She also has a habit of brining the
wounded and ill food. This applies to most people she knows
and likes in the city.

• Fairness and justice are definitely big things in Kaya's book,
however under her sweet smile she is just as dangerous as
the next warrior. Her concept of fairness is harsh and rigid.
The ends justify the means, and she is not afraid to hurt others
for the sake of righteousness. More than any other alignment
Kaya is Chaotic Good. Perhaps that is how she managed to
9get along with both the crazy watch captains?

• Kaya is not the smartest cookie in the bunch, but she is very
hardworking, determined, and resourceful.

STORYBOOK

• Kaya grew up by a river in the fertile and slow-paced lands of
Cirelith. It was a fun life, and she spent most of her days helping
hunt for food or exploring the length of the river.

• Kaya's husband was from the same Skelkie clan, but was
five years her senior and had been adventuring for a long time,
but the two of them were good friends despite the large age
gap. Every time Huli, her husband, would return from a quest,
he would fill Kaya's ears with tales of faraway lands. She was
hooked, and wished to adventure by Huli's side. When Kaya
was of marrying age they wed and set off together.

• The two of them had much fun on the road together, and
they traveled for fifteen years. They were happy with their
nomadic lives, and with each other. One the two of them
were ambushed by people they assumed were thieves.
While the two of them managed to successfully send the
rouges running, Huli was injured and never really recovered.

• Huli grew weaker and weaker, and in her pursuit to find a
proper healer to rid her husband of his horrid infection, Kaya
took him to Orbis. They settled there for a few months,
where Kaya stayed by her husband's side while he slowly
withered away and died.

• Huli died in Orbis, and was buried in Orbis. Kaya has left
Orbis several times to go on short trips to sate her wanderlust,
but she always came back to her husband'sside. On one of
her short trips she found a large lake in the middle of a dark
forest. The area was in tatters, a fresh struggle. There was
blood everywhere, and the remains of a dead dragon--- its
killers would be back for the rest of it for sure--- and for some
reason Kaya decided to check the depths of the lake. It was
there that she found a large, blue egg. This happened almost
a year ago.

• She's been a resident of Orbis for four years, and has made
herself a reputation for being a kind soul with a deadly eye.
When she found the egg, she stopped traveling to protect the
egg, and took a job in the Day Watch. After Sandata hatched
Kaya switched to the Night Watch and was promoted quickly
to Sergant. She was one of the few people who could hold her
own against Orbis' infamous Night Watch Captain and that
made her a prime candidate for the job.

TRIVIA

• When she was travelling with her husband, Kaya would do
acrobatics and knifethrowing tricks to earn extra coin. It is now
those very same skills that keep her alive in combat.

• Sandata naturally produces mucus to keep herself moist.
As longas Sandata is by her side, and coating Kaya in mucus,
Kaya can go on for extended periods of time without taking a
dip in water.

• Kaya's cooking is not her strongest point, especially for the
less adventurous palette. What she makes isn't necessarily
bad, but Skelkie food has always been on the wild, unrefined
side that a lot of city folk are not accustomed to. It's a love it
or hate it sort of thing. Her soups and salads are the most 'normal'
of all her dishes.

SURFACE

• Fat, lumpy, slimy and limbless, Sandata looks more like a giant
black slug with teeth than a dragon.

• Sandata's skin looks smooth, but that's just her thick, protective
mucus coating. Her skin is actually course and covered in short,
rough barb-like scales. These barbs are a last defence system
since the mucus makes her surface too slippery to hook on to
anything. The barbs only cut anything trying to grab her.

• Sandata has a few tendrils on her head, two act as sensory organs,
and one acts as a hypnotic lure for her victims and prey.

PERSONALITY

• Sandata is a proud and grumpy little dragon. She doesn't like being
told what to do or pushed around by anyone but Kaya. A large part of
this is because Kaya tends to use 'gentle chiding' more than ordering,
and Sandata responds very well to that.

• Sandata is a greedy little bugger, and will need some firm
disciplining early. She also eats enough to feed a small family.

• Despite it being larger than her tamer, Sandata is still a baby and
tries to wrestle and play with Kaya. For the most part it is endearing,
but it won't be long before she can crush Kaya by simply leaning on her.

• Sandata likes to masquerade around as an independent dragon,
but she's really just a big, tsundere softie.

TRIVIA

• Sandata is an Evening Star River Serpent. While the dragon race
itself is not a rarity, it is an extremely rare sight to see one out of
water and slithering about in civilisation.

• Sandata was meant to live in the deep, dark depths of large bodies
of water so her eyes are sensitive to light and her unprotected skin is
sensitive to heat and dryness.

• The Evening Star Dragon uses hypnotism to lull its pray before
devouring it. The hypnotic effects are very strong, even now while
Sandata is young, but she herself is not large enough or fast enough
to kill a skilled warrior before the hypnosis wears off. At her age the
hypnosis is meant to distract predators so that the dragon whelp
can get away.

• Sandata has tried to hypnotise Kaya several times, too many
times in fact. Kaya has actually built a resistance to it.

• While Sandata hates the daylight, she actually enjoys the strange
looks she gets when people see her and her barbed teeth. She also
enjoys shocking people at night by blinding them, or by making her
light flicker. It's a dangerous hobby for a squishy little dragon
such as herself.

Callum has a lazy and easygoing charm to him. He's friendly, casual, and always up for a good time. He actually exerts a lot of effort in to looking as if exerts very little effort in to everything he does. He is a fantastic addition to a party and has no problem tearing the place up if it means the good times keep raging, but he's also the guy who won't help you clean up despite eating all your food and drinking all the drinks.

Despite always putting himself first loyalty is something he understands and values. Even with all the deals he's made with thieves and the Military Police he tries to protect those he cares for in his own twisted way. Even when choosing homes to hit, he always picked the people he did not consider his friends.

Callum shows his affection by bothering people and being obnoxious. His favorite irritation technique is to get invade people's bubble of personal space.
It is no secret that he loves to touch women people, and body painting is a great excuse to get up close and personal.

█║ REPUTATION »
Callum is known as a one-eyed painter with shady habits: a drinker and a man with no drive who people suspect is also a kleptomaniac and a peeping tom. Despite these things many people put up with him because he is actually be quite charming and agreeable, albeit a little secretive.
Because he is rarely seen working on any pieces there are rumors circulating that he sleeps with noble perverts for extra cash. Who knows, maybe they dig what the find behind his eyepatch. There aren't many who feel safe with him, but he isn't hated either.
He is so skinny many people wonder if he sustains himself on a diet of beer and spirits.

His alias Bobby "Bobcat" is a part of a small-time but efficient ring of thieves that steals mostly from the upper and middle class, but never cleans out a house completely. Bobby is known for rearranging small pieces of furniture from time to time, or going off with strange things like a toy's foot or a single shoe. These things usually turn up at random places later on.

In the Military Police he's known as a wild card. He switched over to their side really quickly, so he isn't trusted by many on their side. They see him as a coward with no sense of honor, but he is a coward they can use. For the really corrupt he also makes a fun drinking buddy from time to time.

█║ INFANCY »
It will come to no surprise that Callum was born to an impoverished family with a colorful set of parents. He was the third of seven children. His father worked for a distillery. He had worked out a deal with them that he could take a little bit of the rejected products or surplus materials to consume and resell. Callum's mother worked as a laundry woman for the upper middle class and wasn't afraid to ask for a loaf or bread or two from her client's kitchens. Later on Callum found out that she also took loose change and a pencil or two.
For as long as he could remember his home was filled with energy, life and loads of noise. Chaos would be a pretty accurate word. With their parents working all the time it was the two older siblings who were in charge, and the eldest, Zach, was a rowdy fellow who ruled like a greedy king.

█║ CHILDHOOD »
When Callum was five Zach was nine, and his sister Missy was six. When their mother got pregnant with the next child she dragged Missy along with her to help. Soon, even after the baby was born it became a habit for Missy to help. More work got done that way (or maybe Mrs. Kurczynski was planning for her retirement). Missy, being the sweet, doe eyed child that she was, gained a friend among the regular clients. This learned friend of hers would teach her how to read and lend her books. Over the years she learned little by little, and would teach those siblings who were interested. Callum was one of those children.
Callum also took advantage of his mother's writing material collection and drew on every surface of the house, and even on the streets when he had the proper quality of charcoal.

Not having proper education to fill the time, Callum used art and adventures to pass the hours. His little group of friends were always running off somewhere and scaling buildings of the slums, or building toys from recycled goods.

At the age of eleven the responsibility of taking care of the younger children was passed down to him. Zach started working as a farmer, and Missy was their mother's full-time assistant. Callum wasn't exactly thrilled by the idea of hard labor on the field or military training, so he happily too the role of caregiver.

█║ ADOLESCENCE »
Apparently art was something of a big deal. At the age of thirteen Callum had gathered himself a good deal of charcoal and had gotten permission to drawing on the wall of a family friend's shop. He was making a genre drawing of farmers and a city official passed by to admire the work. The official asked if Callum did commissions and would like to draw a portrait of him some time. Since Callum didn't really have much else to do outside of baby sitting agreed. For one hour every day for a week he visited the city official to draw him, and the result exceeded the man's expectations.

From then on Callum's life took an interesting turn. He was suddenly shoved in to a spot where he was making friends with literate, educated, monied individuals, taking commissions and making a bit of money. His parents were fully supportive of this, of course. Not knowing the value of art Callum's prices were a steal for the quality. He quickly became known among the vain members of the upper class, and friends with the people who worked for them.

This became common knowledge between people in Callum's circle. He was then approached by some old friends with a proposal: If he gave them insider information on what these noble homes were like, security and layout-wise, he'd get a cut of whatever they made.
Given his family background, Callum didn't have many problems with this. His conditions were he got to choose the hits. If he did this willy-nilly they could trace the burglaries back to him.

Eventually his lines of work brought him further and further away from his family. He spent more time doing commissions and befriending the rich and their staff alike. Anything to gather more information.
At the age of seventeen he had moved out of the house, only returning to give his family a portion of what he earned. He was already a full-time member of this little gang of thieves. He was a skilled pickpocket, an agile climber and silent footed young man, albeit a little arrogant and reckless.

Being on his own brought a new kind of freedom that Callum had never experienced before. He loved being able to do what he wanted when he wanted, he loved having his own space to breath without worrying too heavily about its impact on his family. He loved the booze he could drink, the friends he made, and the adventures he had. Life of a semi-nomadic thieving artist suited him perfectly.

█║ ADULTHOOD »
At the age of twenty, he made his first major mistake and lost his eye during a botched escape. The event included a three story drop and broken glass. Ever since then he's been much more careful. As far as his friends in the higher up are concerned he lost his eye to a jealous drunkard, but this was when the Military Police caught a whiff of him.

Despite the loss of his one eye Callum's artistic gifts were only improving. If anything the loss of his eye made him even more determined to enjoy the sights of the world around him. The quality and quantity of his output increased, and so did his instances of sexual harassment. Callum was brought to Wall Sina by a particularly generous endorser. The arrangement was supposed to be a one time thing, but his works and the charming novelty of his roguish ways were very popular among the nobility, that he manages to travel back and forth between Sina and Rose every so often when he has a commission.

This meant bigger fish for him, which meant that the Military Police really needed to exert the effort to intervene. Soon the Military Police connected the dots and intercepted Callum on one of his trips back to Wall Sina. Instead of throwing him in the slammer they decided to use his information gathering skills. They would give him his freedom if he was their man in the underground world, tipping them off when he heard anything. They even promised he and his little band of thieves could continue with minor heists to keep his cover, as long as they did not go after the fat cats up in Sina.
Just as he did back all those years ago Callum took the deal without much thought.

Doubling as the MP's informant and a small time crook was proving to be more work than he thought it would be. Callum doesn't enjoy lying to his friends or cooking up excuses why they cannot expand their little 'business', but it still beats jail. Callum has been thinking about leaving his group and becoming a hand for hire instead.
He had a small room in a dingy inn in Wall Rose, but he rarely uses it for anything except storage.

After Wall Rose was breeched he isn't quite sure what to do now. Obviously finding his family comes first, but the after is going to be a headache. Poverty will be more rampant, food will be more scarce, and there's going to be a lot of competition for work.

Maybe he should try hitting up some of his noble friends.

█║❀ The more Kohei loves someone the more they experience his strange pattern of affection: being showered by pranks and/or relentless teasing, then some sweet gesture to win back their favor or to ease his guilty conscience. Usually this gesture is just him spending lots of pleasant bonding time, but in the extreme cases (like the kimono-snake) it can also be the reappearance of someone's favorite trinket or a large peace offering of food, toys or labor. The pattern was especially aggravating when he was much younger.

After returning to the Souma home many were hoping the life of a Buddhist monk changed him drastically; it didn't. Kohei is still naughty and troublesome, but at they very least he is a lot less obnoxious. He no longer tortures his family mercilessly but he has taken it upon himself to harass every single female he meets. At the very least he is flippant with his approach to women and most (smart) women simply shrug him off.
Kohei is not, however, easily discouraged. Hard headed and (surprisingly) dedicated, he always works hard when he sets his eyes on a goal. He loves a challenge and exercising his brain by coming up with different plans and ways to achieve his prize.

One of his favorite 'prizes' are the looks of exasperation and annoyance his family gives him when he has he sucks down a jar of sake.

When Kohei isn't out cavorting with loose women he is a hard working man who would do anything for his loved ones. He is also affectionate and wise. His affection is showered freely over his family and friends in the form of quality times and gifts, but the wisdom he likes to keep hidden. The last thing Kohei wants is people thinking he's some sort of responsible grown up.

ＢＩＯＧＲＡＰＨＹ
█║❀ As a child Kohei was always on the constant watch list. With an impish twinkle in his eyes he ran around causing havoc. He was known for putting spiders in his cousins' hair or, when he was feeling particularly mean, harmless garden snakes in kimonos of random victims. Wherever he was combs and other small trinkets were sure to disappear and reappear in the strangest places. (once there was an earring in his father's mochi)
He only ever did well in the teachings he found enjoyable and would play hooky all the time. His favorite pastime was escaping the family home to secretly visit a lonely hermit and his small pack of dogs who lived lived in the outskirts of the mountain. When he was there the middle-aged man would talk about Buddhist teachings and teach him how to read the behaviour of dogs and other animals.

Needless to say if was this old man who ultimately influenced Kohei decided to become a buddhist at twelve. His wishes went against what the Soumas wanted since it would require him to leave the main house to places where their name held no power to live and study with strangers, but Kohei was determined.
It was especially out of the question because Kohei first transformed and nearly killed his mother about two years ago. Why couldn't he just read the books and live the lifestyle of a monk under their own roof? Kohei would not hear it. He was convinced that Buddhism would help him live with the monster inside him. If he could find that inner peace and enlightenment he would not hurt anyone. He would be the closest thing to cured any other Souma had ever reached!
The tension this conflict brought upon the house was absolutely crushing. Kohei argued with everyone and anyone who showed the slightest bit of doubt in him and his abilities to become a well-centered and disciplined monk of the religion. (Although in retrospect Kohei accepted why they felt this way)

Eventually, at fourteen, Kohei left the mountain at the dead of night and ventured out in to the world to find enlightenment.
At first the household went crazy. They had to find him and bring him back before he killed someone.

Then days turned in to weeks, weeks to months, then a year and there was no word about strange murders in Japan. There was, however, a letter from Kohei letting his parents know that he was doing well and that he was happy. In his letter he also attached a few locks of his hair to show everyone that he was officially starting as a monk.
Buddhism was working for him and he had found a peaceful environment to live in. He had discovered a side of himself he never knew existed: a calm and disciplined individual who felt no need to torment those around him.
For the thirteen years he spent away from the family few letters were exchanged but all of them were pleasant and brought nothing but good news. So it was a huge surprise when Kohei suddenly turned up back in their mountain, a head full of hair and a bottle of sake in his hand.

Kohei simply claims that he started missing tormenting his family and that a taste of a quiet life was enough for him, which many believe is very possible. How could their crazy little monkey have stood being stuck in some stuffy religion for so long anyway?
However if one really pays attention, there is something different about the twinkle in his eyes.

Andy has a couple of tattoos as well. Her first tattoo is a small but striking sunflower right below her wrist, and her favourite tattoo is of a tiny ladybug on her left hip.

Relationships

Mother: Cheryl Smith Green has always been a very serious, hard working and disciplined. The two of them are polar opposites, not just in behaviour, but with brain functions. They aren't especially close, but the two of them do agree on the magic of cake. Cake makes everything better. For as long as Andy could remember, she and her mother's key bonding time was when they were in the kitchen together.
Father: Stanley Green was always a free spirit. A surfer, wild-child at heart, now that his girls are all grown up he spends most of his days out on the beach, catching the best waves or being paid to teach others how to do so. He was more of a houseband, and raised the kids while mother was out providing. He and Andy are two birds of a feather, outdoorsy, relaxed and free spirited (not to mention a little air headed) and she and her father call each at least every week.
Siblings: Samantha Green is Andy's older sister. Taking after their mother, she was always the more pragmatic, focused and more efficient worker of the two of them. This would have been a good thing, as they could have worked together and made a great team. Since puberty, Samantha became cold and distant, alienating herself from the family, seeming only to respect Cheryl. Andy's only memories of her sister were scowls, glares and eye rolls, which is the very core of Andy's deepest insecurities. Quick as a whip and armed with very little patience, Sammantha could hardly stand Andy's short attention span and forgetfulness, while Andy disliked her sister's arrogance and difficult attitude. Obviously the two don't talk much unless absolutely necessary.

Other Family Members: Granny Green is Stanley's mother, who is so feisty and quirky that she ran away from the home to come live with her son and granddaughters when Andy was finishing middle school. She taught Andy everything she knows about baking, which automatically earned her a permanent place in the house. She tends to be a busybody and tries to interfere in the loves of those she loves, but that's mainly because she has nothing better to do anymore. She and Andy are also very close and she constantly pesters Andy via snail mail to come back to California.
Past Lover(s): In the past Andy has had only two boyfriends. Her first boyfriend's name was Kevin Hanajima, a Japanese-American surfer who she met as she was entering her senior year of high school. The two of them had some fun, but due to differences in future plans, they split up once she graduated. They are civil and meet up for coffee to catch up every time she visits her parents, a habit that started because Stan insisted upon it on every visit. Up to now Kevin and her father are very good friends, and obviously Stan thinks Andy and Kevin are meant to be. What Andy doesn't know is Kevin doesn't actually disagree with her father like he claims he does.
Her second boyfriend was a mistake, and Andy doesn't speak to him anymore even if everything was her fault. Mark Baker was a nice, decent man, that she met in the middle of her freshman year in college. The relationship was a brief one, and only came in to fruition because of Andy's sexual crisis. At this point in time she had already started falling for Angelique, but did not recognise or know how to handle her feelings. The breakup was messy, horrible, and, according to Andy, one things she's ever done to anyone in her life.
Current Lover(s): Tyler and Angelique are the loves of her life. With Angelique she can explore the world, and frolic in the summer sun, and with Tyler she can be her quieter, dreamier side as they explore fantasies and the joys of baby huskies.
Friends: Kevin is her only real friend she kept from her life before New York.
Pets: None, but she's been thinking about getting a dog recently.

How Serious are they: While Andy is capable of buckling down and being serious, she only does so when there is no other option.
Independent or dependent: Dependent. Once she gets in to the groove of it, she can be fine on her own, but Andy's pretty much like a puppy. She loves being in a pack of people that she trusts and loves.
Soft Spot/Vulnerability: Because of her inability to focus and hold a conversation, she is very self-conscious about the way she interacts with strangers or superiors. Andy also has a very big weakness for cake. Usually she can be bribed, manipulated or won over with the right kind of cake.

Small Blurb: Air-headed, sweet, adventurous, and determined, Andy is like a child who never grew up. She's mildly argumentative, a trait she picked up from her parents, but she's hard to anger. Her default reaction to deal with anything is baking, then eating the finished product.

History:

Biography: Andy grew up comfortably in her unconventional home. With her mother, a top Child Custody lawyer, raking in all the dough, the family never really wanted for anything. Not having the more disciplined parent around, Andy grew up next to her father, absorbing his care-free ways like a little sponge. When she was much younger she spent most of her days outdoors, surfing with her father or trying different sports alongside her sister, back when they were still close. This urge to expel energy would never leave her. When she wasn't outdoors she was indoors day dreaming of fairies, witches and dragons.

Puberty happened, and at this point Samantha was already distancing herself from her father and sister. Andy's tendency to daydream and confusion with her sister's sudden distance made her run to comic books, fantasy games and Star Wars for solace. In exchange she lost some of her sports time, much to her father's dismay. When Granny Green showed up and started whipping up a storm in the kitchen, Andy's surf hours were cut even shorter, but this time her father and mother did not feel it was a bad thing. Andy showed a great natural talent in the kitchen and a whole lot of passion, for food. Still, Andy made it a point to surf with her father at twice a week.
Other than that high school was pretty uneventful for Andy. She was never extremely popular, hated, or troubled so she had no enemies. (If anything, she made a couple of people fat, but they weren't complaining…much.) She had friends, but only one close friend, who would later become her boyfriend. Andy suspects this was because of her difficulty to connect with people. With her head so high up in the clouds it's a little hard to reach people who are grounded.

Much to everyone's surprise, Andy did not take up culinary arts, but instead opted for an English degree. If she was going to go to school , she may as well learn something that she felt she wasn't so good at, and she thought an English degree may help her communicate better with people.
A few weeks after she left California, she met Angleique at a food fair. She became her first real friend in New York, but wouldn't become much more until Andy's third year in college.
The english degree didn't help with her communication skills, but it certainly didn't hurt to meet a different set of people. Here in college Andy grew to love alcohol, parties, books without pictures, and women.

Currently Andy is happy with where she is at. Being paid to eat food and brag about it is pretty much one of the best jobs a major foodie like her could ever hope for, but she's been secretly thinking about starting her own bakery. But she's terrified of failing, knowing full well that she's the biggest goof and klutz around. Discipline, accounting and responsibility have never been her strengths.
