Jhett nodded and dug his knife out of his pocket and handed it to Yvette. "Its really sharp, so be careful with it." He clamped his hand down tightly on the back of his head, the more pressure he put on the wound the better. He looked over at the ship and noticed that the girls had disappeared inside the ship already, good they would be back before they all knew it then.

Kaleb let out a low whistle. Great. "Kaleb." He pointed to himself with his thumb. "Alright...so...we could...look along the shoreline for other people? I mean they had to have washed up somewhere around here, right?" He asked, blinking at the sunlight. Boy, he sure wished he had his sunglasses. It was bright. Or maybe he was still drained from getting washed up? Well, they couldn't just stand around, and he would hate to think that they were the only ones who had made it.

Yvette took the knife from Jhett and smiled reassuringly, in a way letting him know she’d be back before standing up and jogging over to the other boy (Kyle) who had asked for it, although she had no idea why he needed a knife. As she got closer and saw his injury she winced, wanting to look away but not wanting to be impolite. ”H-here’s that knife you wanted,” she said softly, getting on her knees next to him and handing it to him. ”I’m Yvette,” she said with an unsure smile, trying to get his mind maybe off his pain and onto talking.

Brooke smiled "Nice to meet you Kaleb, I wish it had been on different circumstances. I am sure if we can get back up that embankment we are going to find others. I know that I saw someone, there is no way I am already seeing mirages." Brooke dragged a shaky hand through her red hair and blinked against the sunlight, there was probably about half a mile worth of beach and then a dense forest that started immediately as the sand stopped. "I don't know what time it is or how much daylight we have left, but I know we are going to need shelter..."

Luc sat down on a log. He'd tried to keep up with the others, but he just didn't have the strength or energy to keep himself going on such a messed up leg. He peeled away the cloth of his pants from the wound. The motion caused it to bleed. Great. he took a pocket knife out of his pocket and began to cut the pants at the knee so that he could keep them from rubbing the wound.

When Luc was done with the cutting, he looked around him. He had no idea where he was. He just hoped the others would back track and come back the way they had come. That would mean they'd find him.

"Agreed," Bobby replied as they followed the rope up to the staff room. "We're definitely going to need that." While there was most definitely food on the island - there was a forested area inland, which meant there would most likely be small creatures to hunt. As for a fresh spring, Bobby doubted it. They couldn't simply rely on the resources of the island. They had the hierarchy of needs that they had to follow. First, stabilize the injured. Then get necessary resources - food and water- to the rest of them. Then find a way back home.

"I see it!" Bobby proclaimed as the entrance to the staff room came into view. However, the line of rope ended a few feet away from the entrance. Surprising herself with her wealth of ideas today, Bobby pulled a loose cable from the ship and made sure it would be able to tie an knot. She then turned to Angel. "One of us needs to stay here. In order to get into the room, on of us is going to have to tie this cable around them and go in, while the other holds the end of the cable so the one going to the room doesn't fall off the ship."

Kyle looked up to see the girl running towards him. As she reached him, he let out a sigh of relief as he saw the knife.
"Ergh....Hi Yvette. I'm Kyle." he said, grimacing in pain. "Before you go, I need you to do me a huge favor."

Kyle pointed at the jagged piece of metal sticking out of his leg. "I'm going to need you to pry that thing out of my leg with that knife. I would do it myself, but I doubt I can. It's going to get bloody... I really hope you know CPR, because there is high probability that I will faint during the process. If I do, lay me on my back and perform CPR until I recover. Can you do that for me?" He said as more blood slowly seeped out of the wound.

Yvette hesitated, heart pounding in panic as the guy asked her to basically preform rudimentary surgery (or at least that’s how it registered in her mind). ”Um… um… Maybe I should…” she hesitated, feeling sick as she glanced back, wanting there to be someone there braver than she who would do this. But the only ones not injured were performing a mission on the sinking boat. Yvette swallowed hard, her face feeling numb as she turned back to Kyle and nodded. ”Okay,” she said meekly, looking completely unsure as she tried to hold back whatever little bit of anything was resting in her stomach, and began to pry the piece of metal out of Kyle’s leg. She knew he said he might pass out, but she only hoped she wouldn’t as well.

Kyle's eyes began to water as the pain kicked in. He shoved his fist in his mouth, and bit down to suppress the screaming. He tried his best to remain still and make it easy on Yvette, but he couldn't help it. He began to buck his legs and body as he felt likes he was going to faint. While he desperately wanted to pass out to numb the pain, he knew the risk, and tried his up most to remain consciousness as the girl pried the metal out of his leg.

After about a minute, the screaming started. Kyle started sobbing and screaming as he felt the knife inside of him, and the metal being pulled out. He slipped in and out of consciousness, and it was pure hell to him.

Luc's concern increased as the sun started to go down. The others weren't back yet and he was starving. He layed across the log and watched the sky, trying to take his mind of off the possibility that he might actually die here. It was too early to start feeling like that.

Glancing inside the room, and then at the cable, Angel took one end of it.
"I'll go in. You'll have an easier job supporting me than I would supporting you." She said, then smiled with a shrug. "Hey, who would've thought it - my tinyiness is useful once again." She said with a chuckle, tying the cable around her waist, and easing her way into the staff room.
It was a mess in there. Cables from the ceiling - which had various holes in it - scattered the room, along with books, pens, cups, etc. The desk was nailed to the floor, so while the chair was shattered in pieces on the far side of the room, it was intact. Normally, medical kits on ships like this were brightly coloured and easy to see. This, however, was not the case.
"Stupid ship." Angel muttered as she sifted through various boxes for the kit. After five minutes of nothing but pointless vitamin tablets, and a bottle of strong rum, she walked up to the desk to have a look inside. The drawers were locked, but the desk was fairly old, and water-damaged, so breaking open the drawer was easy even for her. Breathing a sigh of relief, she yelled out to Bobby that she had found not one, but two medical kits in the drawers. Opening them up, she saw that they contained painkillers, antiseptic, bandages, paper stitches, sutures and even that clear suture thread that the hospitals had. But there was no form of anesthetic. Other than the rum, of course.

Yvette moved faster to remove the metal with each twitch and cry of pain from Kyle. She whimpered, tears flowing down her own cheeks as Kyle screamed. ”I can’t do this okay!” she yelled at him, upset, but continuing to pry until it was completely out. She choked as she threw the stupid metal piece away, feeling traumatized but still more concerned about Kyle than her own feelings at the moment. ”I’m sorry, I know, I’m so bad at this, please don’t die,” she sniffled, trying to move Kyle’s shoulders gently

"Great!" Bobby yelled back to her, making sure she kept a firm grasp on the end of the cable. "Bring it all. Do you see any other equipment like knives or pliers or anything?" The knives would be for hunting or cutting off pieces of clothing, should they need to. Or even amputations. Who knew what condition others were in. The pliers would be for pulling out obscure objects, should they be immersed in one's body,

Kyle let out a massive sigh of relief as the piece was removed from his leg. He lay on the sand, motionless for a moment, then he sat up. "...Thank you. I know that was hard." He said as he removed his shirt, and wrapped the wound in it. He figured it was best to get their minds off of what just happened.

"How many other survivors have you found?"

”Y-y-you’re welcome” Yvette said, wiping her cheeks as she glanced back over to where Jhett sat before looking back to Kyle. ”I know of 4 others. My friend Jhett over there, two girls who went to get first aid and one of them is named Angel. And they apparently had a friend with a hurt leg who couldn’t walk further with them either. So that makes 6 of us for sure… You haven’t seen anyone else?” Yvette asked with hope in her eyes. She was still praying her friend Brooke had made it.

Kyle shook his head. "I haven't seen anybody else. I woke up not long ago right here, and eventually saw your friend, Jhett, where he is right now.". Kyle started to twiddle his thumbs, deep in though, for a minute. He suddenly spoke up... "I think I've seen you around school... What grade are you in?"

Yvette’s sadness shone in her eyes when Kyle said he had yet to see anyone else. She turned around and waved to Jhett who waved back and made Yvette smile just a little. At least he was alive. If he wasn’t, she wouldn’t know any of the survivors very well. He just had to make it through this. She turned back to Kyle. ”He is bleeding pretty badly so he’s not moving much,” she explained why he hadn’t come over there too. She hesitated when Kyle asked her what grade she was in. School seemed so far away. It was insane what their situation currently was. She shook her head though and answered. ”I’m a senior this year. I think I’ve seen you too. It’s such a big school and I never think anyone really noticed me,” she said with a dismissive smile, her lack of self confidence showing.

"Erm..." Angel looked around the room. It was more of an office than anything, and the sharpest thing in there was a letter opener. Popping her head out of the doorway to look at Bobby, she glanced up and down the deck.
"There's nothing of use in there. There's some scissors and sutures in these kits, but that's it." She said, then paused. "Let's just get these back to the people, and then we can come back to look for knives and such?" She suggested.

The sun was close to setting now. There were a few stars dotting the rainbow sky. It was beautiful, really. The green, leafy trees, the setting sun, the gentle breeze. It was almost paradise, you know, except for the injured leg and being stranded on an unfamiliar island. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Luc stared at the sky, trying to see how many stars he could count. He was desperately trying to keep his mind off of the location of the others. This was the best he could come up with. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his pocket knife. the students weren't supposed to bring weapons on the cruise, but Luc was never good at following the rules. It often got him into trouble, but this time it might save his life. He flicked it open and closed, admiring the way it shone red as the light of the setting sun reflected off of it. How ironic. A pocket knife with red on it.

Luc's stomach grumbled. He suddenly realized he hadn't had anything to drink or eat since lunch the day before. Even then, he hadn't eaten much. He was feeling a bit sea sick, but he never would have admitted it. He sat up and scanned the trees to see if any of them had fruit on them. When he didn't see any, he laid back down and groaned. He thought for sure he was going to die here.

"Alright that will have to do for now," Bobby sighed, gripping tightly to the cable. "Let's head back. I got a good grip on the cable so make your way back to where I am."
