I was also paying for the T.V, but, since there was always someone else watching, I literally was never able to watch it.

Don't worry about it, if you've missed out on too much, whomever's group you join would be happy to fill you in. Anyways, we ARE always accepting of new people.
Also, since I don't want you to fall too far behind, I'll allow your character to start as high as level 15.
