He also wishes for the few he has grown to care about to lead happy and prosperous lives but does not wish for one such life himself. Personality: Ren is very cruel and sadistic often driving great pleasure from the pain of others, he is cold and detached so as to make as little meaningful attachments as possible. He will often analyse a situation and being sure he can win before making a move regardless of how many are lost during this process. However under the cold and calculating sadist there is a sweet and shy boy who is rather awkward and doesn't always know how to act around people. This side of Ren only comes out around those few he has formed true attachment with and this is the way he used to be as a child. His hair is blue and goes to the base of his neck but he keeps it pulled back with a ponytail and has a fringe on his forehead. Ren a slim but toned body giving him the impression of weakness although the opposite is true, his kin is very pale and fair. He has a heart-shaped face with a scar across his cheek from his childhood. Ren looks somewhat sickly because he is pale and thin this is because of his rough childhood spent on the streets of Japan's capital despite his sickly appearance Ren is rather healthy. Ren carries himself with an air of cold and calculating confidence yet he always seems to appear bored or disinterested however around large crowds his posture becomes far more rigid and robotic. Ren wears simple black straight cut jeans that have a metal chain connecting the front and back pockets on the left side. His shirt is a plain blue t-shirt that has black edging and over that he wears his favourite black cat hoodie that has 3 zippers (2 side pockets and one across his right upper pocket) the inside of the hoodie is pink and it has a teal line across the hood not quite on the edge(in picture). He wears an armband that is blue and black checkered and he almost always has his headphones around his neck (in picture). Ran also has a metal stud in his left ear and a 3 rings on his upper right ear. For his shoes, Ren wear plain and simple black combat boots (ankle height). A backpack full of simple things like a blanket, some food and water along with his mothers wedding ring on a piece of string. Also his ipod. History: Ren was born to a simple middle class family, they weren't poor but they certainly weren't rich, they could afford all that they needed. Ren was happy with his mother and father however a rich noble man bought up the land they lived on and charged the small family ridiculous rent causing them to spiral into debt, when he turned 3 years old his father, a mage in the local guild, boasted to his son how he was going on an amazing job that would fix all of their troubles and make his son proud of him however his father never returned. Apparently the quest had been to take out a powerful and troublesome dark guild but they had proved too strong for his father and his team so they were killed. Ren didn't understand and often asked his mother where his father was causing her to cry and hug him while he remained confused although he understood that it made his mother sad and eventually just stopped asking. Ren and his mother, unable to afford the ridiculous rent, moved to the city of Tokyo and settled into a small run down house in a bad part of town. All seemed to be going well, Ren's mother work as a seamstress and Ren took odd jobs where ever he could until he'd be old enough to join a guild. When Ren turned 11 his mother scraped together enough money for a cake and a small present in the form of his signature arm band however the party was ruined when a man broke into their home and demanded his mother give him what she stole, Ren tried to protect his mother only to be thrown aside where he hit the wall and was knocked unconscious,upon awaking Ren discovered his mother was dead and he mourned her for hours before calling up someone who could lay her to rest and packing his things. That day Ren swore to avenge his mother and left to seek out her killer. Ren lived on the cruel streets of Tokyo never knowing when he'd see his next meal or safe place to rest because of this Ren learned quickly how to survive picking up various skills and a sadistic streak along the way. Ren became a cold and cruel person who knew how to take care of himself however he failed to find the thug that killed his mother. At age 15 Ren got into a fight with a group of local thugs who'd caught him picking the leader's pockets, during the fight one of the group managed to cut Ren's cheeks with his knife causing the scar on his cheek. When Ren turned 16 he began his underground informant business and through his shady deals he came across a young girl who had been kidnapped on her way home from a night class and was being forced into prostitution, normally Ren wouldn't care or would find her misfortune amusing but something about the girl made him want to help her. Ryouko was the girl and she was successfully forced into her captors' business but Ren came to visit her as often as he could and the two developed a bond. Ryouko came to love Ren in a twisted way but Ren never loved her he was only interested in her and wanted to help her so if allowing her to love him helped then he would play along. Ryouko asked Ren to take her away and marry her one day and he had told her no and that he could never love her how she wanted him too so she forced him out. Ren had carefully laid a plan to free Ryouko so she could return to her middle class family but her anger towards him had been a push to far in the wrong direction causing his plan to go horribly wrong resulting in the tragic death or Ryouko, he had gone to see her and found that her boss had strangled her the previous life, because of losing Ryouko Ren swore to never put those he cared for in danger again and thus began the isolation Ren put himself through until a chance encounter with a waiter in a restaurant on a rainy day changed his life forever.
