Dragon Form While in his true form, the Dragon Form, Shiki is considered to be a medium to small class dragon which determines his overall size and dimensions. As a dragon, Shiki's height - while standing on all four legs and as measured from the ground to the top of his ears - is approximately 549 cm (18'00"). Shiki's entire body length as measured from snout to tail is approximately 1372 cm (45'00"). Shiki's wingspan is approximately 1189 cm (39'00"). Finally, Shiki weighs in at approximately 10 tons. Shiki is considered to be one of the rarer variants of dragons marked by such features as vibrant blue and white scales and the fact that he is also feathered. Shiki falls under the "Fire Dragon" category meaning his element is fire - more specifically in his case, blue fire. Human Form In his Human Form, Shiki is a young male standing at a height of 170 cm (5'07") and weighing 57 kg (126 lbs) - a relatively short stature for his age compared to other human males of around the same age. Shiki has a light skin tone as well as a fairly muscular, yet average-looking, physique but his most prominent features are clearly his unusual blue hair and golden eyes. Unsurprisingly, those features are derived from his Dragon Form. On his chest where his sternum is located, Shiki bears a large burn scar - one that he received from a confrontation with another dragon when he was a mere dragonling. Shiki's casual attire consists of the following: a brown leather, three-button vest with a raised collar, a long-sleeved, white linen shirt worn underneath the vest, dark blue trousers with a vibrant blue sash fastened around Shiki's waist, brown leather wrist guards, brown leather boots with white linen socks, and a single iron pauldron worn on Shiki's left shoulder attached to his vest. As a Wallguard of the Archer Squadron, when on active duty, Shiki dresses in the Wallguard's archer uniform.

Shiki is a happy and good-willed dragon albeit quite naive about many aspects of Terrania considering he spent most of his life underground. When he learns new things about the world he inhabits, a child-like innocence and genuine sense of astonishment overtakes him; this occurs even with the most rudimentary of things such as shaking hands for the first time or eating with silverware. Because of this, he is sometimes labeled as "weird" or "stupid" by humans; understandably, humans are not aware of the fact that he is a dragon. Due to being conditioned by dragons to view humans as the enemy, Shiki naturally detests humans and is even fearful of them at times. At the same time, Shiki feels conflicted about his views on humans especially when a human acts kindly to him. Still, he is loyal to his race and his mission even despite how kindly he is treated by humans. He believes that if he were to show a human his dragon appearance, that human would not hesitate to kill him. Shiki also seems to have a strong sense of pride about being a dragon. He easily becomes brash and confrontational when a human speaks ill of dragons or wyverns - a species closely related to dragons. As a dragon, Shiki has a huge appetite that can only be sated with large portions of meat. Living underground, Shiki has only ever tasted a limited variety of meats and so he is absolutely astounded by the variety of meats available to humans; this leads him to describe Atland as a "dragon's lost paradise" due to the wide variety of meats available in the capital's various butcher shops. Another aspect of his draconic nature, Shiki is quite sensitive about his small stature and becomes emotionally distressed when someone draws attention to it as dragons value size as a determining factor in strength and power. When Shiki was a dragonling, he was very small for his age leading to other dragonlings constantly harassing him. Despite that, Shiki has always been determined to prove his strength. Shiki's only family is his broodmates - otherwise referred to as siblings in human society - seeing as how both his mother and father are deceased. Although Shiki has a good relationship with most of his broodmates, he is absolutely terrified of some of them. Among them, Shiki is known as the "Egg that almost didn't hatch"; he is also the youngest of his brood. Shiki has a long-time dream of being able to one day fly the entirety of Terrania. He had developed this dream during his dragonling years when he caught a glimpse of the sky for the first time; he was absolutely in awe at its beauty. To those able to make friends with this young dragon, Shiki has proven to be a fiercely loyal comrade; he's able to risk just about anything including his own life in order to protect those dear to him. Above all else, Shiki's kind-hearted nature may very well be the remedy that is needed to heal the scars of both humans and dragons.

Shiki was part of a brood of eight eggs that were considered to be of the highest quality dragon eggs ever birthed. Both the brood's mother and father were rarer variants of dragons. In addition to that, the mother of the brood was part of Draken-King Deidreig's bloodline and so the brood was considered to be vital to the restoration of the dragon race. After incubating for around a period of fifteen months, seven of the eggs hatched. Shiki, however, as the eighth egg, did not hatch at the same time as the other eggs. Both Shiki's parents and broodmates were worried that his egg might've turned out to be a bad egg. It would take approximately another two years before Shiki was finally able to break through his shell. It was a miraculous event; one that many dragons doubted would've ever occurred. Shiki was henceforth labelled the "Egg that almost didn't hatch". Unfortunately, by the time Shiki was brought into the world, both his mother and father had passed away. His father had died of a rare illness that only affected dragons of his kind but his mother's death was far more tragic: she was killed by an arrow that had impaled her heart - a human-made arrow. Needless to say, after such an event, dragons became even more weary and hateful of humans. Growing up, Shiki never knew what it was like to have a mother or father figure unlike his broodmates. His broodmates, however, did take care of him through his more vulnerable years. As a dragonling, Shiki and his broodmates were constantly monitored by dragons working directly for Deidreig; those same dragons are the ones who taught Shiki and his broodmates how to use their draconic abilities. During his dragonling years, Shiki was always treated like an outcast by other dragonlings in his age group. Due to his small stature, Shiki was labelled as a weakling and was constantly picked on. Fortunately, he could always depend on his broodmates to have his back. However, Shiki wanted to be able to defend himself and so he would train his dragon powers extensively for days on end just for the chance to prove that he was worthy of being a dragon. Shiki only wanted to be accepted and acknowledged. At the age of fourteen, Shiki was confronted by a larger dragon of his same age and after a brief struggle, Shiki received a large burn injury on his chest that nearly killed him. Fortunately, Shiki managed to survive the confrontation with only a scar as a reminder of what had happened. Instead of being discouraged by that event, Shiki only became more determined to grow stronger so that one day he could stand amongst the ranks of his broodmates. At age fifteen, while his broodmates were training with one another, Shiki snuck off and managed to end up in an unexplored cave system at the time, becoming lost. Shiki wandered for hours on end with no signs of an escape. Suddenly, he could see a light emanating in the distance. Following the light, Shiki arrived at the entrance of a colossal cavern. There, he witnessed what could only be the most beautiful sight to a dragon: the vast sky of Terrania. Shiki was in awe at its splendor. He wanted to spread his wings and soar through the clouds but before he could attempt anything of the sort, a group of dragons under direct command of Deidreig arrived at the scene and took him back to his broodmates. From then on, Shiki dreamt that he would one day fly through the skies of Terrania like his ancestors had done centuries ago. Now in the present, Shiki and his broodmate - after being assigned a vital mission personally from Deidreig - are heading towards the human capital of Atland where Shiki is determined to prove he is worthy of being called a dragon.

Bow: As an archer of the Wallguards, Shiki utilizes a bow and arrows for combat. He uses the standard Wallguard Bow which is designed specifically to be lightweight in order for archers to swiftly maneuver on top of the Wall. Despite its weight, the bow is crafted from a dense, yet highly flexible, wood and reinforced even further by steel, making the bow quite durable. The bowstring is reverse-twisted and composed of quality linen to allow for maximum pullback. Along with the bow, Shiki also has a standard Wallguard quiver with a maximum capacity of fourteen arrows that he wears on his waist. Hand-to-Hand Combat: Aside from being an archer, Shiki is also qualified as an assault troop. As an assault troop, Shiki's preferred weapon of choice is his own body - more specifically, Shiki utilizes hand-to-hand combat. His version of hand-to-hand combat is neither anything fancy nor named; he simply understands how to brawl against an opponent effectively. His own style of hand-to-hand combat is quick, ferocious, and, most importantly, effective; it's a mobility-oriented style that emphasizes attacking the enemy before they can attack. His hand-to-hand combat is enhanced even further through the use of his ability to transform his human body parts into his dragon body parts.

Shapeshifting: This is a magic spell that has been taught to Shiki and his broodmate prior to going above ground. This spell allows Shiki to transform certain body parts or his entire body between a Human Form and his natural Dragon Form at will and without any sort of incantation. For example, when Shiki is in his Human Form, he is able to transform an arm, hand, leg, etc. into its Dragon Form to gain the benefits of that form; then he can easily change those body parts back to their Human Form at any time. The same effect can also be applied when Shiki is in his Dragon Form. This ability is frequently used by Shiki especially when he is engaging an opponent in hand-to-hand combat. Unfortunately, Shiki must act cautiously when using this power as it may give away his true identity. Dragon Physiology: As a dragon, Shiki's physical capabilities are enhanced far beyond that of any human. He is physically stronger, quicker, and much more durable; even his senses such as sight, smell, hearing, etc. are keener than a human. Even in his Human Form, Shiki still retains these enhancements. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost to Shiki as he must consume much more energy than the average human being to maintain his strength. Despite this obvious flaw, his dragon physiology has proven itself to be a life-saving advantage. Furthermore, Shiki has a naturally superior aim than that of the average soldier. Due to the fact that each dragon is able to direct their respective element in the form of a projectile attack, a dragon's aim must be, in a sense, perfect in order to hit their target. Translating this superior aim over to his Human Form, Shiki becomes a master with projectile weapons. He is able to hit small targets from a very large distance with relative ease making him one of the best archers in the Wallguard. Beyond just hitting small targets from long distances, Shiki is also able to effectively fire multiple arrows at once towards multiple targets as well. Blue Fire Creation & Manipulation: Shiki falls under the category of "Fire Dragon", allowing him to have control over the element of fire. In Shiki's particular case, he is able create and manipulate blue fire - a fire that burns at an extremely high temperature. Like all dragons, Shiki is able to create his particular element within his body and can release the element through his mouth and various other parts of his body. With blue fire, Shiki can release it in various forms including a fireball, a steady stream of fire, and can even envelop his limbs with the blue fire to enhance his attacks. As a Fire Dragon, Shiki is naturally resistant against other types of fire. The only fire that can damage Shiki is a fire produced from a stronger dragon. As with Fire Dragons, water is their main source of weakness - more specifically, powerful, running water such as a waterfall or the rain of a heavy storm.

Dragon Shout: A technique that any dragon is capable of using, the Dragon Shout is an extremely powerful and loud burst of pure energy produced from deep within a dragon's core. Usually, energy is processed into a dragon's particular element at its core but in this case, the energy is released as is. The power of this technique is dependent upon the strength of its user but even at the very basic level, this technique can shatter thick glass and temporarily deafens anything caught within its blast radius. At its strongest level, a Dragon Shout can just about break every bone within a living creature's body and cause major internal bleeding. Blue Flame Wave: Shiki must utilize his hand while it's in its Dragon Form. In this technique, each one of Shiki's claws are enveloped in blue fire; Shiki then slashes at the enemy to release the blue fire as a powerful wave of flames capable of completely disintegrating common armor and causing serious burn injuries. Dragon Bomb: This time around, both of Shiki's hands and forearms are transformed into their Dragon Form. With this technique, Shiki produces a medium-sized blue fireball from his mouth and holds it in both hands. He then rushes towards the enemy and smashes the fireball onto them. As the fireball makes impact with whatever Shiki attempts to hit, it creates a powerful explosion of blue fire. This technique is currently Shiki's strongest elemental technique. Blue Arrow: With this technique, Shiki sets the head of an arrow ablaze with blue fire and then simply shoots the burning arrow at the enemy. If it successfully hits an enemy, the arrow will set the enemy on fire, burning through common armor and causing burn injuries. Of course, Shiki needs to be weary of his surroundings when attempting to set an arrowhead on fire as to not risk revealing his true identity. Blue Spiral: In this technique, when Shiki is pulling a flaming arrow back in preparation to fire it, he puts a minuscule twist on the bowstring so that when he fires the arrow, the arrow will begin to spiral but will continue to proceed in its desired trajectory. The spin on the arrow increases its effectiveness of penetrating armor as well as causing a more significant injury on unarmored foes.

(but with the uniform standard colours instead) Alere is a tall solemn young man. Standing at 1.9 metres and weighing 90 kg; making him tower even above his seniors. His accompanying powerful physique make him an imposing figure. His tanned skin and honey-yellow eyes hint his lineage is tied to the desert dwelling folk.

Alere is a rather grounded person, focusing on day to day things instead of dreaming about tomorrow. People tend to think he's a loner type preffering to be on his own, this mostly stems from the fact that he's not really talkative which again because of his stature tends to unsettle people. if one took the time to get to know him they would find him to be a very gentle figure, still helping out at the orphanage he grew up in. Even close friends may be surprised by his dry sense of humour, often earning him funny looks. He doesn't subscribe to dogma's, mostly because of those who had been enforced in his youth have already proven to be false. He will always form his own opinion on matters, eventhough he rarely lets them be known.

Alere was found as an infant abandoned at Saint Cassiel orphanage, swaddled in expensive looking crimson cloth and little else, no letter or card. The sisters named him Alere which meant 'Light of Eyes', later in life he adopted the surname Ruadhan which meant 'Descendant of none' in the old tongue. Life in the orphanage wasn't easy. they didn't have much means but tried to feed, clothe and educate their charges to the best of their ability. even to this day Alere is sometimes uncomfortable with the luxury the elite Wyvern Corps has in regards to food and lodgings. Alere never got adopted, and as such considers the sisters and Sheila his closest family, he grew up helping in the kitchen and helped the children learn to read, something he was quite fond of himself. He was on okay terms with the other orphans, bullies left him alone since it was known he could toss them around like a sack of potatoes. Because of this the more timid children often stayed near him for protection. When he was 8 he came across an interesting sight in an alleyway, a Nightstorm hatchling pinned by the wing underneath an overturned merchant's wagon. It had apparently been stuck there for a while as it only weakly raised it's head when he approached it to help. He easily lifted the wagon and swooped the poor creature into his arms, running into the street. Crying in panic he made his way to a city guard, explaining what happened between wails, pleading for her to help 'the kitten' as he called it. She led him to their baracks where she introduced herself as Sheila, putting him at ease with something to drink and assuring him that the hatchling will be fine with some love and care. Sheila questioned him in regards to his parents and how he came across the young wyvern. In the end she brought him and the newly christened Raum back to Saint Cassiel's. In the days following the incident Sheila came by to visit to learn more about this young child with the golden heart and the strength to carry a hatchling all the way to a guardpost. in time she taught Alere how to take care of Raum and once he was old enough introduced him to the Wyvern corps, where he and Raum could enlist to help the city. eventhough it was never made official, Alere considers Sheila the closest thing to his mother. in the academy Alere was a bit of an odd one at first, most people work their way up to have a wyvern asigned to them, not bring their own along. nevertheless he could gained the approval of his peers for his valour and determination. since his academy days Alere has proved his worth as a capable combat medic, several soldiers owing their lives to his and Raum's efforts. His sole wish in life is to make the people who raised him, who had no obligation to do so, proud of him.

zweihander (displayed in profile pic). Alere's weapon barely qualifies as a sword, having no real edge to speak of but instead wounding by impact, making it useful even against armoured -or scaled- opponents. the handguard is basically another fortification to prevent the weapon from slamming apart with each blow, evidenced by the many rivets along the handle. It's hefty weight (35 kg) makes it a slow weapon, so Alere usually reserves it for a finishing blow, opting to use the wide blade as an impromptu shield until he can spot an opening. however when needed he can swing it with suprising speed and accuracy, this does drain his stamina rather quickly though. Standard bow: Seeing as how he's a rubbish shot he usually leaves his bow and quiver on Raum, using it more to hunt for game than in battle. Medical supplies: ranging from anti-septics to scalpels, this tightly wound satchel has enough basic supplies for field dressing wounds to stabilize a patient until he can properly treat them at base.

Alere strong physique and Raum's high landspeed made them ideal candidates to transport wounded soldiers, as such Alere has been trained as a field medic, which involves stabilizing a wounded person for transport, as of late he is undergoing training for trauma surgery, so he can help out the wounded back at base. Strength: ever since a child, Alere has been gifted with astonishing strength, being able to lift several times his own weight. The origins of this power is unclear, some say he has been enchanted as a child or was fed a powerful potion. Others think he's not entirely human, being part giant or troll. Other still say it's the old blood, heritage from the Old Dragonslayers who fought and killed dragons in single combat during the Extinction War, or so the myths say.

Raum is Alere's companion wyvern. She's a Nightstorm Wyvern, making her black fur accompanied by lightning elemental powers. These can range from deadly lightning bolts to playful zaps from her tail or claws. Her tail and bladed wings are easily her most powerful melee weapons, capable of giving bone breaking blows and limb tearing cuts. She stands at 2.5 metres high (from withers) and measures 7 metres from tip to tail. She weighs a hefty 4 tons. Because of an injury when she was a hatchling she isn't a nimble flyer, limiting it to a means of transportation and not combat. Raum makes up for this with her landspeed, having been forced to run everywhere has made her quite nimble and swift, easily maneuvering through forests, foilage or if needed, crowds. Raum has been with Alere since they were both young, growing up alongside eachother, as such they have a bond of trust and companionship far overpassing master and pet. While in general mischievous and playful she can get jealous of others getting to close to Alere, preffering to use said zaps instead of being overly aggressive. She is very vocal, growling or grumbling when angered or displeased and purring when she's happy and content. Maybe even more surprising is her chirping and whistling during play, sounding something like an overgrown cockatiel.

Jasper stands at 5'7" and he has a slim yet muscular build. He has golden eyes and a square chin. His face, however, can give off a soft and innocent look. He has black hair that is just above shoulder length. Jasper bears scars of all sizes. One of his many scars happen to cover the left side of his chest. It travels down his left arm and covers his hand as well. He always wears a brown, leather glove and long-sleeved linen shirt to cover up the damaged skin. Jasper generally wears comfortable fur-lined leather boots along with black linen pants and a white or red linen long-sleeved shirt. When he is on duty, he wears a iron plate chest piece with iron plated shoulder guards. He also wears an orange long-sleeved linen shirt and black dyed leather bracers. He also wears that glove to cover his hand. He also wears black pants and dark colored leather boots. He has a tan cloak as well. (Basically the picture.)

Jasper is not even close to a bystander. He has been known to protect his friends if they are getting beat on or if they are in a fight. He has a few female friends who have had their hearts broken. Unfortunately, for those guys who did such things, they got taught a lesson. With this being said, he can easily be labeled an overprotective individual. However he knows that people deserve freedom and he has learned in the past that he will not always be around to defend those he cares for. He sadly learned that lesson the hard way. Despite being overprotective, is an out going guy. He tries to put smiles on peoples faces and he does his best to be serious when he really needs to be. Jasper knows when he shouldn't say a word and when he should. If its one thing that he knows best, he learned that getting to know someones past is better than just learning their personality and their all around character. He also learned that looking at the light of the situation is always better. Remaining positive is the best thing to do, something he tries to attempt over and over again.

It all started with the relationship of Vicar and Elie Aldo. They were running there own business throughout their young lives. Vicar had been using a blacksmith shop for income. The shop was given to him by his father when he was a teenager. This blacksmith would be the same place where Vicar would smith a steel sword for his youngest son. The couple had four children. Two daughters and two sons. The eldest was a son names Eryx, who took apprenticeship under his father when he was big and strong at the age of 13 Jasper was 8 at the time. Jasper's two sisters were fraternal twins. Their names were Pegasus and Autumn. Life was great for the Aldo family. They ran the very shop that contributed to the arms of the humans during the Draken-Hume War. However that was something they wouldn't learn until later on in the generations. Jasper grew up helping his father and his brother at the shop whenever he could. Normally he would help people pick out weapons and armor. His brother taught him how to handle a sword and how to fight with his fists when it was really needed. Jasper's mother and sisters always tended to the house whenever they needed to. They would normally make sure the family pet was taken care of too. A large dog that normally ran around and played with Jasper when he was younger. Eventually the dog passed and the family would have lost their own blood and flesh that day. After the death of Jasper's comrade, Jasper continued his training with his brother in sword play and he even watched his father from time to time when he was repairing leather armor. His father taught him how to use a grind stone to sharpen a blade of any kind. Jasper soon learned the one thing that was hidden from him and his sister's for years. The family wasn't really for the Draken-Hume War. They had two sides to the whole thing, they didn't believe the war was worth it, but at the same time they believed it was necessary to carry out destiny that the human race seems to follow. Jasper didn't think much of the war and went on to tend to the family business or swordplay on his free time. Jasper's life was great all the way up until the past two years of his life. When he was 16, the new order known as the Wallguard demanded that the Aldo family's blacksmith shop go towards the effort of making weapons and armor for the Wallguard. Jasper's family agreed that they would deny serving them and that they would explain they were just a local shop meant to serve few people who were looking for a good blade or even a good bow and some armor. The Wallguard would listen to their explanation, but it would pay the largest consequence possible. The family was sentenced to death for "treason." They executed Jasper's whole family and kept him alive to serve the Wallguard. Few people know the truth, mostly adults, but Jasper knows the whole truth. Considering Jasper knew he was powerless against the Wallguard, the community that surrounded the blacksmith shop gave Jasper a place to stay. All Jasper had was the sword his father forged him, an emblem which he uses as a clip for his cloak his sisters made him, the armor his brother forged, and a dagger that has been passed down from his mother. Jasper has served two years in the Wallguard and had only had to take care of minor disputes with goblins.

Jasper prefers the curved, steel blade shown in the appearance picture. Aside from the design below the hand-guard, and the handle of the sword itself, the whole sword is steel. The handle is of a strong unknown wood and the design is made out of iron which has been painted over. There is also a curved dagger stored on his hip, which he always carries just in case he would like to duel wield or if he lost his sword in the line of battle. The curved dagger is made of steel with the handle being wrapped in red cloth and an amethyst placed on each side.

Adaptive: Jasper can use his surroundings for just about anything. He doesn't have the issue of going into a new territory or area and feeling very uncomfortable about it. His survivability is not altered in a specific terrain and he will be able to remain stable regardless of climate. This ability does not just refer to terrain though. Jasper can pic up any one handed sword or a dagger and he can use it just as well as the person before him used it. Agile: Along with being adaptive, Jasper is quite agile. He is a fast runner and he has an ability to climb obstacles or get around them in odd ways. Along with this, his attacks are often swift and without hesitation. He has yet to meet someone who can swipe a pebble away from his hand or even out run him.

Skilled swordsman: Jasper has been handling a sword as soon as he was old enough to pick one up. He was taught by his eldest brother on how to use one and how to fight well with one. When Jasper was around 11, he defeated his master, his brother, in a duel. Since then, he has practiced with his sword that his father made him and a dagger, which was an heirloom for generations in his family. Duel wield: A skill that Jasper had taught himself, Jasper learned that using two one handed swords, or even a sword and a dagger, can increase his chances of taking on multiple opponents at once. Him and his eldest brother have been teaching each other new ways to use duel wielding and their training has been going well, until recently.

Vivien stands at a solid 173 cm (5'5") and weighs around a certain number that a woman never discloses. She has a fair skin tone with green hair and matching green eyes - traits received from her mother. She wears her hair at medium length - just a little past the nape of her neck - with the bangs framing the sides of her face being noticeably longer than the rest of her hair. Additionally, she has braids on either side of her head. When it comes to clothing, Vivien prefers to keep it simple. In her casual wear, she adorns a plain pale-blue blouse, pinkish-orange skirt, a black sash worn around her waist, and a pair of light brown boots. While on Wallguard duty, Vivien wears a uniform very similar to the Wallguard archer's uniform except it's more form-fitting to her body. Furthermore, she wears light armor more suited to her division which includes armor covering her arms and legs, which comes up to her middle forearm and thigh respectively, a chest plate, and fingerless black gloves.

A passionate young girl who charges forward boldly and confidently into anything and everything that she does, Vivien - or as she is often referred to by close friends and family as "Vivi" - is a rather hot-blooded youth, with a penchant for trouble but a heart for peace. She believes that everyone has good in them, and that people deserve second chances. Due to this value, Vivien is known to rush in and help other people without a second thought. However, Vivien isn't nearly naive enough to get swept away in some type of nefarious plot and will more than gladly deliver some good old justice towards the evil doer. On the contrary, she is very intuitive about other people and can usually discern whether a person has good intentions or not. Because of her energetic nature, she sometimes will find herself in very dangerous, troublesome, or even comical situations but Vivien is usually more than capable of finding a solution to those situations. Probably her most problematic trait, however, is that she tries to help and make everyone happy, often taking on too many responsibilities as she does her best to help everyone with their problems. On the contrary, when is comes to her own problems, she is hesitant to ask for help as to not get other people hurt if she happens to get herself into trouble. Still, despite her headstrong behavior, Vivien is frighteningly observant when it comes to battle. She is quick on her feet which saves her skin countless times. She's a natural-born warrior who isn't afraid to flaunt it in battle. Occasionally however, this "spur-of-the-moment" cocky attitude is quick to boil over which causes her to make mistakes. Fortunately, her innate battle instincts kick in to save her just in time, and she is just as quick to calm back down into her more serious and calm battle persona. For all of the bravado Vivien displays, she has one great fear that she doesn't like talking about because she deems it too embarrassing: Vivien doesn't like the dark. As long as she has a light she's fine but if it goes out she becomes frozen in fear. Her fears runs so deep that just being outside during night time makes her feel uncomfortable, but she doesn't feel as suffocated as when she's in pitch darkness. The main thing that sets her apart from most people is her interest and passion for dragons. While that alone may not be strange, she is very open with her thoughts. Vivien is perceived as a "dragon lover" which at times puts her at odds with other people, most notably her twin sister, Lysa Hart. Ever since her run in with a dragon when she was younger, she doesn't view them as vicious, blood-thirsty beings as preached to her countless times by schools and the numerous members of the public. Instead, she always wondered what it would be like if the humans and dragons lived together in peace like they once did; talking and befriending one another. Vivien believes that dragons are no different than humans and shouldn't be treated any differently, because of this Vivien is often standing up for dragons when someone bad mouths them. Lysa Hart is Vivien's twin sister. Her interest in dragons has put her at odds with her sister, who celebrates the fact that all dragons have been wiped from existence. This causes arguments between the two and unintentionally created a rift of hatred. Although she would never wish harm on her family - in fact, she loves them more than words could describe - contempt for her sister's opposing views has formed a sort of feeling of disgust towards Lysa. In those rare times that they do meet, Lysa never fails to bring out the anger and rage within Vivien and, on more than one occasion, they have drawn weapons on one another. She regrets that this has happened and wishes they could return to the way they use to be. Somehow she knows that their conflicting views will one day tear them apart completely. Vivien doesn't like talking about her sister as it is a touchy subject for her. If it is brought up she will likely become angry and often lash out at the other person until they give up on the question. Get past all of that and Vivien is truly worried about her sister. She wants to try and show her that dragons aren't terrible beast and that they can live together in peace.

Vivien Hart was born and raised by a family whose history is deeply connected with the Wallguards. Her father, Talon Hart, was a celebrated archer of the Wallguards where he is famously known as the "King of the Hunt". Her mother, Arryn Nocte-Hart, was a Wallguard of the Magic Brigade who specializes in support magic. Both of her parents are now happily retired and are focused on raising Vivien's little brother, Lukan Hart. Born as the younger twin to Lysa Hart, she would find herself always chasing after her sister. Growing up, she was always one step behind Lysa, whether it be first words, learning how to walk, or even in their studies. This never bothered Vivien however. Instead, this made her look up to Lysa. Whenever there was a problem with other kids, Lysa was always there to protect her and, no matter what happened, the two of them were always together - nothing could separate them. Vivien loved her sister and Lysa cared for Vivien dearly. They even shared the same dream of one day joining the Wallguards just like their parents and older brother who is currently traveling the world. Growing up was where the problems began. Being told the story of dragons and about the war, Lysa looked at it with anger. Believing dragons to be evil and a danger to the humans. Vivien saw them in the same light as well for a time. Although these dragons were believed to be extinct, Lysa, nevertheless, wanted to be prepared just in case something happened and they were to appear again. So the two of them began to read more about dragons, so that when they become Wallguards, they would be ready to fight them. Everything that Vivien had believed about dragons changed on one fateful night. Coming home from a friends house, she decided to take a short cut through the open valley. It was starting to get dark so she knew she needed to get home quickly. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one occupying the same stretch of the Humemark Valley. A group of men were there harassing a young, beautiful woman. From the looks of it, the men were hunters or, more likely, poachers. She didn't look scared and said something to the men which made them angry. One took out a knife but the woman didn't see it. Vivien, although normally shy without her sister, shouted to the woman to look out. The woman dodged in time but now the men knew Vivien was there and grabbed her. Frozen and too scared to scream, Vivien closed her eyes trembling as she thought she would never get to see her family again. That's when the woman called to her and told her to not be afraid. Vivien opened her eyes and watched as the woman changed into something she only read in books: a dragon, and it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen with scales that glowed like moonlight. Vivien forgotten, the shocked men drew their weapons and attacked the dragon but to no avail. By chance, one of the poacher's arrow was off course and was headed for Vivien, but, seeing this, the dragon rushed in front of Vivien to protect her. Unfortunately for the dragon, there was now an arrow sticking out of its chest - right where its heart was. With a ferocious snarl, the dragon struck fear into the men who all at once turned tail and ran off; no doubt rushing to tell everyone about the dragons that were supposed to be extinct. Vivien turned to the dragon wondering what it would do next. The dragon looked at her with such deep affection and the sense that it was happy she wasn't hurt before flying off. Ever since that day, Vivien's entire perception on dragons changed. They were alive! And not all of them were vicious monsters like she was led to believe. When Vivien told this to her sister, who didn't believe her story, Lysa was angry, accusing her of siding with the evil dragons who killed many people. It was during that day that the two sisters began to drift apart, their views on dragons being at the center of it all. Years later, now 17, Vivien has finally made the step to become a Wallguard recruit. As always, Lysa, was one step ahead of her, having made the ranks of Wallguard one year earlier. With her dreams of one day finding peace with the dragons and thanking the woman who saved her when she was younger, Vivien starts her journey.

Mikrosakana: Vivien's beloved and trusty lance is a parting gift from her older brother before he left home and the Wallguards to travel the world. It is forged from the finest of steels and imbued with the ability to utilize runes - special stones with the innate ability to enhance weapons with various forms of magic. Of course, to activate a rune, one must actually know how to use magic in a basic capacity. So far, Vivien has managed to gather four types of runes which she can swap in-and-out during battle. These include runes that allow her to utilize fire magic, water magic, lightning magic, and ice magic.

Battle Instincts: When ever she is in battle, her surprising intelligence and skill can only be attributed to her innate instincts which allows her to see clearly and react effectively whenever her life is on the line. These instincts were developed at a young age as she and her twin sister would tag along with their father and older brother when they went out to hunt. Acrobatics: Vivien is extremely limber and has a wide range of acrobatic ability. She displays these abilities masterfully in battle even despite the fact that she is wielding such a heavy weapon. However, when she gets overconfident - which does happen at times - she tends to make mistakes which translates into her seeming clumsy. Magic: As a child, Vivien's mother attempted to teach her and her sister the basics of magic. Lysa, being the more competent of the two, grasped the concept quite easily while Vivien struggled. Later on in life, Lysa would go on to learn much more about magic while Vivien could only managed the basics of what her mother had taught her. So far, she's learned enough to confidently use runes and one or two spells - not enough to qualify her as a member of the Magic Brigade.

Vortex Crush: Activating any one of her four runes so that their element envelopes her lance's blades, Vivien directs her lance in a circular motion with increasing speed until the element she is using creates a vortex that lasts for a brief moment. Hitting an enemy head-on with this vortex will cause them to be damaged by the element while also spinning and launching them off into the distance. However, she is also able to thrust the vortex at an enemy to envelope them inside of it and when the vortex closes upon itself, the enemy is "crushed", feeling the full damage the vortex can deliver. Heaven Strike: Vivien launches herself high up into the air and comes crashing down lance-first onto an enemy. She can combine this technique with her elemental runes to integrate their added effects. Lanceguard: Spinning her lance in front of her at breakneck speeds, Vivien creates a sort of shield that can effectively block incoming weak magic attacks such as a simple fireball or the likes. Indomitable Spirit: An ability that seemingly self-activates as a last resort, Vivien instinctively taps into her reserves and is granted a mental time limit. During this time, Vivien can fight just as she did in the beginning - ignoring seemingly all sustained damage over the course of a long battle. However, after the time limit is up, she will instantly fall unconscious. Nature Trail: The only useful spell in her repertoire, this is an ability that leaves a sort of magic mark behind that allows other people and herself to retrace the steps. This mark is often hard to see and, unless you know what to look for, it is easily ignored. She developed this spell when she was younger, having been separated from her father, older brother, and Lysa while they were out on a hunting trip.

Dragon Form: Saya is an average sized dragon. Her overall height from head to toe is about 895 cm and she measures about 1658 cm in total length. The wingspan is approximately 1838 cm wide and she weighs about 15 tons. The scale color is a very light blue, sometimes it looks like it’s almost white. Human Form: In her human form, Saya is about 167 cm tall and weighs about 56 kg which is all quite average among human females. Deriving from her dragon appearance, Saya’s hair color is blue and so are her eyes. She wears her long hair that goes down to her hips down or ties them up in a ponytail. When not on duty, Saya wears comfortable fitting pants and loose long sleeved shirts. Her leather boots go up her lower legs. When Saya is on duty she of course wears the uniform.

Generally, Saya has an easy-going personality. She is also quite polite and likes to discover new things. Since Saya is still young and has mostly lived underground, so there are a lot of things that she does not know yet. However, she does not like to show too much care about things that are important to her, since she is scared of losing those. That is why you can mostly see her smiling and being happy. Sometimes she is even quite energetic and sarcastic. But you barely ever see her being sad. She can get angry easily, though. At the same time she can be quite clumsy and has a talent of breaking things. After being sent to infiltrate the humans she is somewhat torn between trying to stay optimistic and fun loving and trying to maintain a mature, quiet personality as the older sister to Shiki. It is not as easy as she first thought, though. There are still so many things for her to learn that she is easily fascinated by the human world like her brother. But Saya can hide her fascination better, because she does not trust the humans and does not want to let them know too much about herself. Sometimes she is even a little bit arrogant when being around humans. However, Saya still knows to apologize if she is at fault.

Saya and her broodmates only got to know for a short time how it feels like to have parents. Not even two years after they hatched did the parents die. Even though Saya cannot remember too much of her early years, she does remember the feeling of her parents' love and losing someone important to her. As she grew older Saya heard a lot of stories about the Draken-Hume War and other terrifying things that happened to the dragons. Listening to all those terrible things made her sad and distrusting both dragons and humans. But she is a dragon after all, so she is influenced by the negative feelings towards the humans. When Shiki finally hatched, Saya gained new hope that there are also a lot of good things happening in life. She loves her little brother and is a lot more lively when she is around him. That is also why Saya was very happy to know that they should infiltrate the humans together. At the same time, to her it is an opportunity to hear the other side of the story about the Daken-Hume War. Even if she is proud to be a dragon, Saya finds it important to get know a different way to look at the past.

Saya has a magical staff she can practice spells with. It can also be used as a stick to hit her opponents directly. The staff is made out of a very tough and heavy material. Due to her dragon physiology she can handle it pretty well. It was actually not meant to be used by any one yet, especially not by a young recruit for the Wallguard. But Saya accidentally broke two other weapons she got at first and received this staff by chance when an officer was looking for something more durable and found it laying under various other old weapons that were forgotten and have not been used for ages.

Shapeshifting: This is a magic spell that has been taught to Saya and her broodmate prior to going above ground. This spell allows them to transform certain body parts or the entire body between a Human Form and their natural Dragon Form at will and without any sort of incantation. Saya barely uses this spell since it is too dangerous to be used when being around humans. She only uses it from time to time when she is all alone and thinking about the others back at home. Dagon Physiology: Like other dragons, Saya’s physical strength, senses, speed and durability are much higher than that of a human. But that is also why she needs more energy input than humans. This way she can also fight well at a close range even though she is more of a far range fighter. Water and Ice Manipulation: Being a Water Dragon, Saya can manipulate water and also managed to manipulate ice, even though that is not too easy for her and she still needs a lot of practice. Generally, Saya manages well at practicing the basic attacks with her element and changing the viscosity of liquids. In her human form she can walk on water, cut things with water. Other than that she has not yet developed any special attacks of which others might be surprised to see.

Various healing spells: Since Saya is a “Water Dragon” her attribute makes it easy for her to use healing spells, which is also why she is a member of the Magic Brigade. Ever since she learned to use magic she was fascinated by the possibilities you had with the spells. And she knows how important those healing spells are which is why she practices them a lot. Defending spells: Like others in the Magic Brigade, Saya knows the basic defending spells such as creating a barrier or other blocking spells. With her water element she enhances the basic spells to create more durable barriers. Ice shield: Being able to create ice shields that cover parts of her body Saya can block minor attacks at close range combat. Dragon Shout: Saya only knows how to use this technique at its basic level. She has yet to figure out how to process the energy into the core of her element. Scatter Shot: From either her hand or staff she can release water blasts that split into tiny fragments like needles. Mostly she uses her staff for that. She can also increase the density of the shots so that the needles hit the target like bullets.

Dorian is an above-averagely tall young man who height of 185cm and weighs in at 70kg. As a mage he's been built to be lean and lanky, more agile than strong but still capable of surviving physical combat. In contrast to the usual stereotype of "scholarly, refined mages", Dorian appears to be very unrefined in appearance. His flaxen hair is long and disheveled, reaching down to the nape of his neck and with bangs reaching the bridge of his nose at the center and down to his cheeks on the side. And even his sharp, brown-eyed gaze has been described as 'unnerving' and 'intimidating' even without intent on his part. Clothingwise Dorian dresses pretty conservatively overall, never showing a lot of skin with a combination of coats, jackets, vests, long-sleeved shirts, pants, and absolutely nothing else. Never will you see him with more than his face, neck, hands, or feet showing unless he'd received a lot of damage in battle, or is at the beach or something similar. On duty he has a penchant for longcoats that evoke the traditional mage robes whilst also being far more practical for combat.

Dorian often comes off as something of a prim and proper stoic, and, at first glance, his very formal mannerisms support this notion. He acts much like one would imagine a knight of old would, undoubtedly a result of a certain man's influence in his development. However his personality expressed through speech is very abrasive and unapproachable, a remnant from his days as a hoodlum. His dialect is peculiar combination of high-class noble vocabulary and the coarse slang of lower classes, and often lacks a great deal of tact, usually phrasing things in a brusque and brash manner even if he doesn't mean it, as if he lacked an internal censor telling him what is and isn't appropriate. And although he may be off-putting in his rudeness, he doesn't much talk unprovoked, and prefers the quieter, more nondescript side of socialization. A man who believes that actions speak louder words. And his actions are typically ones that display his uncompromising belief in the ideals of justice and loyalty. Dorian's the type of person who tries really hard to make up for his mistakes even if the other party didn't care about it, and would never make a promise he isn't willing to keep. He typically attempts to alleviate other peoples' troubles, but isn't so good at doing it when the situation can't be solved with something other than sufficient application of fist to face. He's a very stubborn person, always persistent in trying to succeed in his way and never giving up just because the going gets tough. However, while he is sort of a nice guy, he often gets very emotional and can quickly work himself up into frenzy, especially amidst heated battle against a worthy opponent.

Dorian is mostly likely best known as the protege and surrogate son of the cane-bound General Starkkewolfe, a mage of no small renown and a commander of humanity's armed forces before he left due to a crippling wound received in the line of duty. However his exact origins, while mostly unknown to the general public and the subject of many rumors of varying levels of realism, can found in the slums of Atland. Before coming into contact with the good general, Dorian was nothing but a destitute child with not even a name to call his own. He isn't exactly sure how he got to where he was. He never met his parents - never even knew their names in the first place - and was mostly raised by among a band of criminals terrorizing the capital who had found him left out in the street. Though to be more precise, he was less raised and more 'used as a prop to garner sympathy from the locals and thus receive more money via begging', with the proper child raising occurring after the fact. Naturally with such an environment surrounding the developing young man, he did not become what one would call a 'productive member of society'. When he became too old to milk sympathy from, he was subsequently kicked out and forced to fend for himself in the only way he knew how. And like any good vicious cycle, everything Dorian did to survive just made his situation worse and worse. The more he got, the more he got hurt by people like him, and the more people he hurt by fighting back. The less he got, the more he starved and froze, and reduced his ability to get more. It became increasingly obvious that his luck would eventually run out. Fortunately his end at the hands of a the noose or starvation or a fellow desperate streetrat never happened. It was a fairly regular autumn day, Dorian was about 11 and prowling the streets as usual, when he came upon a lonesome, well-off-looking fellow with a cane. Easy mark, as anyone else would think. So Dorian decided to scope the guy out and wait for a good moment to win some bread. He'd jump out, knock the dude over, grab his coinpurse, and get out. Or that was the plan, if he didn't get utterly destroyed in less than five seconds. But even as he lay on the ground, body aching, he just wouldn't let it go. So he got up, went for round two. Then three. Then four. Then five. Then six. And so on until finally Dorian just accepted that he probably wasn't going to win this one. However, rather than being left there with all his broken bones, Dorian was brought back to the man's house and awoke a few days later in a big house and a nice bed. Body still aching, the young man got out of bed and wandered around the mysterious new place he found himself in. When he encountered the man he attempted to mug, Dorian had a minor fear-induced heart attack. However when the man did not give him the second beating of a lifetime and merely suggested he go back to bed, Dorian knew something was up. Something had to be up. Even in the following days, when he dined in the quiet with the man and his wife, his eyes and ears focused on every little detail. There had to be some kind of catch to why he was being allowed to recover in their home. But he was never bothered, nobody disturbed him at all. It was all just so foreign to the young man who knew only conflict and the sounds of the city. When it was evident he had fully recovered, Dorian was confronted by the man who introduced himself as a former of the human army and gave Dorian two choices: 1) Go outside to the nice law enforcers to go to the prison for the multiple crimes that he has accrued or 2) channel the tenacity he displayed trying to mug him into training to serve the human race. There was the catch Dorian had been waiting for, but not the one he had imagined would happen. So as a person of reasonable intelligence, Dorian accepted the second offer. How hard could military training be anyway? In short: Very hard. Though he had assumed he would, Dorian was not admitted into a standardized training program or other such things. No, he was trained personally by the man who took him in, and while General Starkkewolfe was a kind person, he was a very hard teacher. Many physical training lessons ended in a sore body and and no energy left, while education ended in burst eardrums and lost fillings. But to his credit he had to be. He was teaching a 12 year old how to read, write, and use magic from scratch, as well as correct his bad fighting habits. Dorian's stubborn attitude didn't much help speed things up either. But as the years passed, the two made plenty of progress, and ever so slowly Dorian became integrated into the Starkkewolfe household. He went with the General and his wife to events, freeloaded in their house, took on their last name, and even finally accepted the name that they gave him as his own: Dorian.

Energy Gloves: A pair of brown gloves with a magic circle inscribed on each of the backs, put together by himself and based off the model of very same weapon his adopted father used in his career. They allow the user to produce and shape raw magical energy by channeling it through the gloves. This raw energy is typically used to enhance the power of spells, but also possesses spells of its own, cast with a combination of gestures and specific trigger phrases. Spear-Staff: A traditional mage's staff modified with a blade affixed to the bottom, allowing for use both as a spear and a conductor of magic spells. It is typically wielded in reverse grip, with the blade pointed upwards and the spherical staff head facing down.

Magic: While not intended to become a powerful mage, Dorian was fortunate enough to be the recipient of magical training from one of the best, making up for a good amount of the years he'd missed out on. And while he does easily grasp the theory and apparently has a good deal of potential, his practice is much less refined. His spell selection has often been described as 'hopelessly simple' and 'only suitable for destroying things'. Yet even with multiple reprimands telling him to change his focus, his spells maintain a very obvious theme. Awareness: Dorian possesses a sort of 'sixth sense' that lets him very easily perceive even minute changes in the environment and in people, equally. An ability refined by constant, habitual use in his younger days. It mostly relies on vision, with hearing somewhat contributing. Very difficult to explain and really only useful for self-interest or for getting called paranoid. Swiftness: Quickness of both movement and reaction. It doesn't denote any talent for acrobatics, climbing, or other such things, merely that Dorian is just a pretty fast guy overall. A trait that's served him very well in the various stages of his life.

Energy Conversion: Forcible substitution of stamina for magical energy and vice versa. While it could be considered a convenient ability, the conversion process causes high levels of pain to the user. Undoubtedly something Dorian's master told him specifically not to experiment with, but did anyway. Seven-League Step: Focusing of magical energy into the body, allowing high-speed linear movement towards a targeted location. The amount of magical energy required varies based on the distance traveled, while speed is based on how balanced the focused energy is. Nine Sun Birds: The pinnacle of Dorian's skill as a warrior, a technique formed in a misunderstood lesson. Nine high-speed strikes at nine vital locations. Can be executed with swings, stabs or jabs, and combined with other techniques to increase killing power. Energy Glove-Exclusive Techniques Barrage, Fire: With nothing but a simple phrase and the channeling of magical energy, Dorian can assault the enemy with bolts of energy aimed at the direction of his hand. Due to time needed to gather energy, the stronger the bolts the slower the rate of fire, and vice versa. Load, Down: Upon invoking the spell, magical energy from the gloves charge an object they are touching with energy. Each strike by the object, typically Dorian's staff, discharges magical energy in the form of minor explosions, the recoil of which can be used to set up other strikes. The amount of strikes can be increased by pouring more energy into the object, but if not used in a specific amount of time, the object will release all the leftover energy within it.
