Ben looked at where the armed man pointed. He scanned the narrow hallway: 3 doors on the left and chairs and a vending machine on the right. The only light was a flickering strobe light on the roof and the dim glow emanating from the machine. The gun was kept level with Ben's eyes as he made his way past his captor. He was sure that if anyone was going to be fighting Biters it was going to be Ben; unarmed and unwilling. Taking care to tread as quietly as possible he reached for the handle of the door. His hot and sweaty palms felt cool on the shiny brass handle and he struggled to twist the knob. The room was empty except for two chairs, a computer and scattered papers. Ben was grateful: at least a chair couldn't chew your face off. He fumbled for the light switch before flicking it on. The light revealed a window into another room. A biter! Ben's heart raced as he saw the creature on the other side of the glass. However he soon realised that it was no Biter but a human woman. She was in the corner clutching a metal pipe and facing the door. Ben wondered why she hadn't reacted to the light switch until he realised that he must standing in the viewing area of the interrogation room. He quickly switched off the light and shut the door. "Nothing in there," Ben muttered as he avoided the man's gaze. Ben crept across the tiled floor. The soles of his trainers crunched against shards of ceramic tile as he came to a stop at the door. I'm either going to get my head smashed or blown off. Ben took a deep breath and slowly opened the door. He poked the upper half of his body through the door and looked to where the woman was standing when he looked through the window. He motioned to his lips in a silent 'shh' gesture before turning off the light. This time he left door slightly ajar so that the woman might be able to see out. "Nothing in that one either. And pointing that gun at me isn't going to make me search faster!" Ben tried to say it loud enough that the woman might hear but without it being too suspicious. Only one room left now. Ben was now sweating profusely. He rubbed his hands on his t-shirt to dry them off. What's behind lucky door number 3. Before he could grab the handle he heard a sound that made his blood go cold. A deep moan escaped from the cracks in the door. Ben motioned for the armed man to come towards him, "I'm going to need my spade and you're going to need that gun." Ben hoped for two things: this asshole was 1. going to come down here and get eaten by a Z or 2. come down here and get a swift pipe to the back of the head from the woman in the interrogation room. Ben didn't gamble but he didn't fancy the odds of either event happening.
