Klondike woke and yawned. He was grateful that no one had attacked them overnight, but he was still vigilant as ever. Sniffing the air, he gradually made his way out of the cave, to check on the surrounding area.
Amber lazily opened her eyes. She slowly looked around the cave, seeing that most of the others had already woken up. She yawned loudly and stood. She stretched and tiredly wandered out of the cave. She cringed and turned her head away at the unexpected morning light. As her eyes adjusted to the light, she saw Klondike in front of her. "Hey, Klondike," She called. "Anything going on?"
Renzo quickly reacted and managed to tackle down the injured doe which was easy considering that it was hurt. It quickly fell down and he bit down on its neck. "You know, you could take that down considering that she was injured pretty bad." He said as he sat down beside the body.
"I never hunt big animals alone, haven't since I learned, and it's much easier this way. And you always had a good take down," Lila said, padding over and sitting by the dead deer before starting to eat.
Despite her tired self, Amber's ears flicked up at Klondike's question. She was still a little weary, but she was already waking up at the thought of going out to hunt. It had been a while since her last real hunt, and she was eager to start hunting again. "Definitely," She said cheerfully.
"A good take down huh? Guess I'm still fit after being so inactive lately." Renzo said with a smile. He then started to eat some as well and then licking the surroundings of his mouth once done. "Who was that other stubborn male you were talking about?"
Zera who had followed Lila and the new wolf scent, tracked them to the deer. "Well now that looks appetizing, although I know you won't share with a loner like me not that it matters. I managed to grab a few squirrels last night, tasty little buggers but hard to catch." he walks to a point in the area where both wolves could clearly see him.
"Ah greetings." Renzo said as he saw the loner. "You must be the other male Lila mentioned. I'm Renzo." He introduced himself and then bowed his head slightly. "It is alright if you take a few bites, this deer is big enough to feed four wolves."
Misty stretched out and heard her stomach rumble. She was definitely hungry. She turned to Amber. "Why don't you and Klondike go out and see what you can find to eat?" She looked at Postremo. "I think it might be better if we stay here. We have a lot to discuss."
"No thank you, I prefer to keep to the smaller game. Eating to much causes one to get fat, which in my case would lower my ability to kill tigers." He bows his head in response to Renzo's bowing his head."My name is Zera, glad to meet you Renzo."
Lila ate her fill while Renzo talked to the loner, straightening when she finished. "Well, I suppose I should get moving, there's a lot of ground to cover," She said, licking her chops before starting off in the direction of her original heading.
Postremo looked to Misty and nodded. "What do we need to discuss?"
"Well, we have to think about the future and how long we can stay in this cave like this," said Misty. "It's sure to be a while before Lila and Renzo return, and I don't think that we should just sit here and do nothing while we wait for them to return."
Postremo sighed and nodded. "I know, as of right now, we are safe in this cave that we can call our temporary home. The humans are still roaming near our old dens but for right now we need to play it day by day, we don't know what we are up against and how to defend ourselves adequately," He said. "I pray that Lila and Renzo are successful."
Ruka was running as fast as she could away from the the acid-like smell of blood and fur, occasionally stumbling and falling over exposed tree roots or her own legs. As she ran she was constantly looking around with her eyes wide with fear and her ears always on alert, until she spotted a cave further ahead and made a bee-line for it almost not caring if there was something else in it. When she reached the cave she practically skidded to a stop at the mouth of it smelling something familiar but looked back and decided to venture inside "hello...." she called before she walked in.
"You hunt tigers?" Renzo asked. "Well that is an interesting hobby for a wolf." He then smiled. "Nice to meet you too Zera." He then faced Lila as she spoke. "Well I'm following you Lila, Postremo's orders remember?" The older wolf said as he stood up and followed Lila. "It would be a hard task to talk to the tigress queen but it's worth a shot I guess. Zera, you coming?"
"No I can't the tigers would probably recognize me, I know they have been watching me since the first tiger I killed. But if you know a safe place that I could go to so I can get some sleep? I haven't slept in weeks for fear of tiger sneak attacks." Zera walks over to the deer and sniffs savoring the smell but doesn't make a move towards eating it.
"I think our pack will welcome you for the meantime." Renzo said. "You think you can track my scent all the way back to a cave? That's where they are resting in and tell them you met me and told you to come there for the meantime. I doubt the tigers would go there."
"Thank you I will make my way there." Zera quickly picks up Renzo's scent and follows it right to where Renzo said it would lead him in front of a cave, where he sees other wolves. " Hello my name is Zera and I was told to come here by a wolf named Renzo."
