You might consider really playing to that then. Again, this is a not-very-serious sci-fi RP, there's no reason to ground your character in reality. I play a walking tank, for crying out loud. You could have some sort of Adam Jensen-esque black ops character with cybernetics that let him cloak himself and stuff. We don't really have a subterfuge focused character, you could totally go with a Starcraft Ghost style or something.

Basically it just looks like you're drawing a lot on science-reality and not much on science-fiction.

That's what will make him "special," the fact he doesn't need the cybernetics and augmentations. He relies on his training, both on and off the fields of battle.

Actually, the captain doesn't have any augmentations or anything either, so you're part of a group there.

Additionally, all military personnel have a basic understanding of field medical care, such as a quick patch up or assisting the main medical personnel if needed.

I have to agree with him there. Everyone would at least know how to treat shock, bleeding, and minor burns, and some might also know CPR or how to splint a broken bone.

I guess I'm just wary of having a realistic character on an unrealistic team.
