“There is nothing here but swamp and small, sad excuses for plantations!” Hanna complained as she treaded with careful and overly-dramatized steps. “Why are we going to call this place home? We should go back across the ocean.”

Rosanna put her arm around her younger sister’s neck and pulled Hanna close to her side. “Because, sister, we are going to make this place fantastic. We will make a city that sparkles. We are going to make this place ours!” The two sisters stopped and stood beside their brothers. “Welcome home.”

It took several long years to get New Orleans running, A few hurricanes and wars put a hold on the building of the city, even destroyed parts of the city, but the Nelsons made New Orleans their home. The liveliness of the city streets helped hide the vampires from suspicion, and the occasional missing bodies could never be confirmed. Rosanna’s brother Benjamin ruled the town with an iron fist that kept him and his siblings on top. Werewolves were banished to their swamp lands, and witches to their graveyards. Truly, it was perfect, and from a while the family was happy.

That was, of course, until they had to leave their beloved home a hundred years after they built it. Forced to run away from the only place the siblings had called homes since they had become vampires. And now, nearly a hundred years later Rosanna was looking upon the streets of the city she had helped build. The streets were nearly so crowded she could hardly move, there was the sound of laughter, bargaining, and conversations floating around her. It felt good to be home.

White sheets were pulled off the furniture filling the air with dust and revealing the elegant furniture underneath. From the kitchen, to the living room, to the bedrooms, everything was being uncovered and cleaned off. Hanna came to stand by her sister in the court yard, watching the hired hands clean out their home.

“There was a time when I did not think this place could be home, but now it feels so good to be back.” Hanna said with a smile. Rosanna smiled at Hanna and poured them both a glass of whiskey from a nearby table.

“Here is to being home!” She said handing a glass to Hanna.

Charlie crossed his arms over the back of the chair he was sitting on, trying to balance it on two legs. In front of him Markus, the pack Alpha, paced the length of the cabin living room. It was no surprise the Charlie had caused his father to disapprove of his actions. Again.

“You will be alpha, Charlie.”

“Nope.” Charlie shook his head. “I do not want to be the Alpha.”

“It is your birth right!” Markus yelled.

“Great! So because I had the unfortunate fate to be born as your son, then I have to become the leader of this sorry group of animals?!” Charlie snapped back.

“You are a part of this ‘sorry group of animals’! Or have you forgotten where you have come from?” Markus took a step towards his son, his eyes turning yellow.

“How could I forget? You remind me every time you drag me back here!” Charlie stood up, knocking his chair out of the way.

“Charlie, I am getting old.” Markus ran a hand over his face and turned away from his son. “I will not have the strength to fight the next male who decides he wants to run our pack.”

“Then find another person to be your alpha, Dad. I don’t want a life living in shame in the Bayou.”

“There is no one else, son. Everyone else will ruin the pack.” Markus shoved his fist into the wall, leaving a hole clear to the other room. “You are strong enough to beat me and take the leadership.”

“I don’t want it.” Charlie walked out the front door, making a point to slam it behind him. Everyone outside took notice as the son of their Alpha stormed through their little village. A young girl ran up to Charlie and hugged his leg.

“Charlie, don’t go!” Lilly, his seven year old sister cried. Charlie bent down and kissed the top of her dark hair before pushing her off his leg.
“Take care of dad, kid.” He said ruffling her hair.

“Charlie!” Markus called from the porch. Charlie didn’t look back as he disappeared into the woods around their encampment. The last thing he heard before he took off running was his little sister crying out his name.

Charlie walked through the streets of New Orleans about the time dusk was setting, a half drank bottle of beer dangling from his left hand. He pushed open the door to a witchcraft store and stepped into the messy and slightly disorganized shop. He ran his free hand over bottles, voo-doo dolls, and other trinkets as he made his way deeper into the shop.

The siblings had to listen to Hanna's constant complaining throughout the whole trip. Sebastian was definitely getting tired of it, along with Benjamin. He just simply shook his head and toned her out until they made it on land. His eyes trailed across the area as he remembered the wars and hurricanes that torn this town apart but he still managed to rule the town. Sebastian leaned over towards Benjamin and whispered. "Do you miss being in power here?" Benjamin with cold, piercing eyes looked at Sebastian, who took a step back.

Honestly, if you asked him, he still was the head honcho of New Orleans but he knew someone else was ruling his camp and they had to be stopped. Benjamin remained quiet until he turned towards his sisters. "You guys go to our original townhouse, I'm taking Sebastian to scout out the new leader. We'll meet up with you guys later." He nodded his head firmly at them then walked off along with Sebastian.

Benjamin wrapped his arm around his brother and walked through the packed streets of New Orleans, a city him and his siblings helped build. His eyes scanned over every single person as him and his brother were sitting down at a local cafe, outside. "Is it him? Him? Oh, no, he looks like a leader." Sebastian looked at every male that crossed their path and pointed at them. "Calm yourself, Bastian." Benji scolded through clenched teeth as he suddenly saw a female with a group of guys trailing behind her.

"Sebastian, look. That is the new leader." Benji eyed the female then instructed his brother to get up along with him as they made their trek back to their original townhouse, which was still standing surprisingly but just fixed up in an even more elegant way. He walked into his sisters were about to toast to being home. "Couldn't wait to pop out the Whiskey, huh, Rose?" Benji said while walking over and pouring himself a glass and Sebastian soon followed suit.

"Here's to us being home." Benji held his glass up and tapped his glass with everyone else's. "Oh, I found out who the new leader is..." He paused and eyed his sisters. "It's a female. She looks somewhat familiar though." Benjamin shrugged his shoulders plopping down on a nearby couch, coughing and waving his hand in front of his at the dust. "Wow, we have been gone too long."

She stirred in her bed, not really wanting to get up and go to the shop. Bad things were coming and she could feel it, along with the fellow witches of New Orleans. Kylie looked at her clock and groaned as she basically had no choice but to get up and get ready to go to the shop. But before she did so, she showered and fixed herself up before reviewing herself over in the mirror. Today, she was sporting an evening dress, which came up well above her knee, black in color. Kylie loved this dress so much since it was given to her by her mother, who was killed in a war between Vampires and Witches. The thought of Vampires being near her made her skin crawl as she just wanted to sacrifice them.

Pushing the thought to the back of her head, momentarily, Kylie looked down at her phone as it vibrated in her hand and saw that it was, Kendra, a fellow coven member. She didn't even bother to answer since Kendra's conversation was often about gossip and she didn't really need that right now. Kylie grabbed her car keys and headed outside, getting in her car and placing sunglasses over her eyes. She pulled herself out of her driveway and headed to the witchcraft shop in the French Quarter.

She thought it was rather weird that the shop didn't have a name but guess it was to kept their true identities a secret. Kylie parked her car on the other side of the shop and got out, pulling her dress down and putting her sunglasses onto the top of her head now. She got a lot of stares from guys that she wouldn't bother to talk to. Her eyes rolled as she let a simple word escape over her red stained lips. "Men." She muttered softly while walking towards the shop and entering it, seeing Kendra behind the counter, stocking up. "Hey there, girl." Kylie hugged her and kissed her cheeks then broke the hug. "So, how's business today?" Kylie asked. Kendra turned her hand sideways repeatedly. "The usual."

Kylie nodded her head as Kendra took a box and went to the back. Her eyes darted up at a male that had just entered the shop with a beer bottle in his hand. Kylie scoffed and stepped from behind the counter and approached the male. "I'm sorry, sir but you cannot have food or drink in this shop. Especially beer." She pointed at his bottle then watched as he started touching their equipment. "Uhm, please, do not touch if you are not going to buy. Thank you." She stood her ground, firmly and folded her arms over her chest, waiting for the male's reaction.

Roseanna smiled at her brother as he poured himself some whiskey. “Why Benji, it is never too soon to pull out the alcohol. I believe it was you who taught me that.” She said teasingly.

“We need new furniture.” Hanna said as she waved her hand in front of her to swipe away the dust as Benji sat down. “Our current ensemble may be a bit too… dusty to be livable.” She walked away from the couch and dust, her heels clicking on the stone floor.

“Oh, please do shut up Ann!” Sabastian half growled as he sat down in a chair across from Benji. He was seriously ready to strangle his sister. Hanna huffed and put a hand on her hip. “Well excuse me if I don’t want to live in filth!”

“A female? It’s about damn time.” Rose commented as she propped herself on the arm of the couch by Benji. She chose to ignore the bickering between Hanna and Sabastian. Their arguing was becoming all too regular and Rose was getting good at ignoring them. She glanced down at her brother to gage his reaction. Even though he may not be the oldest, he was still their leader. Benji had a strong personality that made him a natural leader, but it was Rose who took care of the family. She put out the fires, brought peace to arguments, and was the glue among her family.

“So what are we going to do about this self-proclaimed leader of our home?” She asked.

Charlie turned his eyes from a trinket he had been studying and looked at the shop girl. A smile broke out on his face as he took in her face then her body. “Well, hello pretty lady.” He reached down to grab her hand and pulled it up to his mouth. His lips brushed the back of her hand while his eyes remained locked on hers. Right before letting go of her hand, he slipped his beer bottle into her grip.

“Tisk, tisk, pretty witch. Breaking your own rules in your own shop by drinking a beer.” He smirked at her then turned to pick up a trinket of the shelf. It was a rough circle made out of natural wood, in the middle was an intricate spinning of thread, and beads and feathers hung off the bottom. “Are these dream catchers special because they were made by a witch?” he asked holding the object out in front of him.

There was a reason he had come to this shop, and he knew if he did not stop playing that the witches were not going to be willing to help him. So with exaggerated care he put the dream catcher back on the shelf and sighed. “Okay, okay. I will stop. I need your help. I am looking for a potion or spell to mask my scent.” He told her.

Benjamin looked at Hanna as she went back to complaining about their current environment. He was getting fed up with her now and if she wasn't his sister, he would've snapped her neck ages ago. Benji eyes snapped towards Sebastian as he told Ann to shut up. "Hey! That is your sister." Benji said while pointing at him. "You're right, so is Rose and you're my brother. What else are you going to tell me that I know already?" Sebastian replied sarcastically as Benjamin smirked but only Rose knew what his smirk really meant. He was going to deal with Sebastian later as he made bigger issues at hand.

His eyes trailed towards Rosanna as they both let Hanna and Sebastian continue arguing. His ears twitched slightly at her question as he shrugged his shoulders. "I am not sure." Eventually Hanna and Sebastian got quiet as Sebastian breathed. "Someone's here." After he spoke those words, a knock came over the door and Benjamin eyed his siblings and insisted that they hide now.

As they were hiding, he made a careful trek towards the door, seeing a group of females through the curtained glass. He opened the door with a smile and leaned into the doorway, folding his arms over his chest, raising a brow in the process. "May I help you ladies?" One of them stepped forth. "Hello there, my name is Eliza and I cordially invite you to Miss Terri's ball tonight." Eliza held out a flier that Benji grabbed and studied over it then held it up in the air with a smile, closing the door in the females faces.

"All clear, guys!" He called out, holding the flier out before him as he continued to read it. "Well, here is your answer Rose." He handed her the flier so that she could read over it now.

Kylie couldn't believe this male before her as he kissed the back of her hand. She groaned to herself and looked absolutely disgusted, gagging a little bit. She wanted to slap him but felt Kendra's presence behind her. "Everything okay, Kylie?" She asked as Kylie nodded her head and waved Kendra away. She eyed the male again as he placed the beer in her hand now. His words and actions were pissing her off but she tried her best not to use her ability on him - For he could be a hunter.

"Look here, you drunk. I must ask you to leave the shop at once." Kylie placed his beer back into his own hand now then looked at the dream catcher he was holding out. She snatched it from him and responded to his question. "No, they capture the bad dreams. Witches don't make these. Well, they do now but it all started with Indians, I think." Her eyes seethed at the male now. "I believe I asked you to leave." But his next words made her shudder with fear a little bit. Her breathing slowed down as her heart rate picked up.

"Mask your scent?" She quirked a brow up then smirked while shifting her weight to one side of her body and folding her arms over her chest, again. "I believe the spell or potion you are looking for is called a bath." She chuckled at her comment then placed the dream catcher back to where it belongs then wiggled her finger for him to follow her. "We have these you see here on the counter." She held up one that might be the best one for him. "This is the best one for you to use. Made from nothing but a variety of salts." She said while handing him the bottle so that he could study over it.

"So, cash or charge?" She asked while ringing up the order on the register, smiling a little.

Roseanna glared at her brother when he told them to hide. “You’re not becoming ashamed of your family are you, brother?” she asked with an icy tone. Still, as Benji headed for the door Rose tucked herself at the edge of the wall near the door where she would not be seen, but she could still hear. Across the archway that lead to the small hall before the door, Sebastian mimicked his sisters hiding spot so that he could listen as well. Meanwhile, Hanna stood near the corner of the living room nursing her drink.

As the uninvited guest left, the siblings came out of hiding and gathered around Benjamin to read the paper he had. Rose took the paper as he offered it and read it over as her siblings read over her shoulder. “To the owner and one guest.” Sebastian read with a smirk. “Sorry girls, but it looks like you’re not going to the ball.” He gave a mock curtsey then walked back to his chair with a laugh.

“That’s not fair!” Hanna remarked as she walked away to pace the room.

Rose remained silent as she read over the paper again then pulled it closer to her nose. “It smells like the roses from Mother’s garden. Defiantly a woman’s touch.” She remarked as she flipped the paper over to look at the other side. The parchment, however, wasn’t giving away anymore secrets. “If I had to guess, Terri is the self-proclaimed leader of our kingdom.” She told Benji as she handed him back the invitation.

She was not worried about rather she would get to go to the ball or not. It was not a social event, but rather a matter of affairs. Besides, Benji would not take Sebastian with him because two males could be conceived as a threat. If Benji took Rose, he could pass her off as a date and make her look non-threatening.

“The powers of flirtation could get us far in a world of politics.” She said simply, a smile on her face.

Charlie watched the adorable little witch put the dream catcher back on the shelf. It was kind of disappointing that the dream catcher wasn’t magical. He had been hoping it has an additional magical quality. Oh well. He smiled at the witch’s attempt at a joke about his smell, but he did not miss the smell of fear rolling off of her either. “I don’t think I need a bath just yet, I did take one this morning. You are welcome to smell me if you wish to test my smell.” He held up his arm for her to sniff, a smirk on his face.

Like a good pup, he followed the girl to the counter and leaned his elbows on the hard surface. Without saying anything he took the salt from her and turned the bottle around in his hand. It was highly doubtful that salts would cover his werewolf sent from a werewolf nose. “I don’t need the weak stuff, miss.” He told her, sliding the bottle over the counter to her. If he knew anything, he knew that his dear old man had already sent the dogs out sniffing. His father would not let go without a fight.

“I get it, little witch. I did not exactly make the best impression coming in here. But let me tell you a little secret.” His eyes flashed yellow as he leaned closer. “You are going to want to hide my sent from prying noses or you are going to have a whole shop full of beasts like me.” He stood up to his full six foot four inch height and crossed his arms. “And when we leave, I promise your shop will not be in one piece.” He promised in a growl.

Benjamin stood behind his sister, Rose, as she read the flier.

His eyes looked at Sebastian as he nominated himself to go to the ball, leading to another Hanna episode. His eyes rolled in his head as he shook his head, toning them both out as they argued, again. His ears twitched as Rose spoke again as he grabbed the invitation and looked at her. "She treading on dangerous grounds now." He commented towards Rose while crumpling the paper up and throwing it off to the side then heard her other words. "Hey, I got an idea..." He said with a pause while grabbing a light hold of her arm and walking her into the kitchen. "How about me and you go to the ball..." Another pause from Benjamin. "Together?"

His brow raised slightly as he kind of knew that his sister would be up for dressing into an evening gown again. Sebastian came into the kitchen. "You're taking her?!" His voice raised up a little bit as Benjamin rushed towards him and slammed him into the nearest wall, holding his forearm against his throat. "Look here, don't not raise your voice at us! I'm sick and tired of the shit you've been displaying lately!" Benji spoke through loudly through clenched teeth, which his fangs were baring now.

Hanna came in to break Sebastian free from Benji's grasp as he broke it himself. Sebastian fell onto the floor coughing and holding her throat. His eyes looked at Rose as he caught his breath. "Be ready by seven." With those words spoken, he left the kitchen area and went upstairs to his room, closing the door behind him though leaving it cracked a little bit. Benjamin didn't really mean to blow up like that but he was getting tired of Sebastian's and Hanna's whining at this point and wish that they would just listen to him, along with Rose and let them do their job so that they reclaim what is rightfully theirs.

Kylie looked at the male with wide eyes now as he slid the bottle over towards her. She was fixing to say something but when his eyes flashed yellow, she shuddered a little bit and was frozen with fear. She was a witch that could predict someone's death and a living voodoo doll, she don't know how long it would affect the werewolf though. His words made her shuddered even more as she screamed. The bell dinged and in the doorway stood an elder witch, Carmen. Her eyes flashed towards Kylie, who had an aura of fear around her. Carmen eyed the male before her and stepped towards him.

"I suggest your eyes go back to their original coloring or this minute will be the last time you have eyes." She spoke sternly while stepping behind the counter and standing beside Kylie. "Now, I'll give you what you are looking for." Her eyes gleamed with seriousness as she wiggled her finger for him to follow her to the back, whispering to Kylie to stay put. She stuck her tongue out behind the male's back then smirked with a huff as she straightened up the counter.

A few moments passed and Carmen was just about to begin to show the werewolf where they keep the real stuff but Kylie cleared her throat as Carmen turned around. "I thought I told you to stay put, child." Carmen said while placing her hands on her hips. "I know but maybe I can have the chance to do this one." She muttered softly as Carmen eyed her then the gentleman beside her. Carmen nodded her head and walked out of the room as Kylie turned towards the male, smirking. "I am saving you. She works for Terri and was going to kill you." She whispered in a hush tone towards him.

"Here." She stuck her hand up on the shelf and handed him a bottle that will definitely mask his scent from whomever he was hiding from. "This will help you with your problem." She said pointed at the bottle with a smile. "Now, will that be cash or charge?" She batted her eyelashes and escorted him back to the front, Carmen staring them down.

Roseanna smiled at her brother’s invitation and lightly inclined her head in acceptance. She could tell Benjamin was getting worked up, and if Sabastian or Hanna made a comment or jab, it would set him off. Sure enough, Benjamin had his brother pinned against the wall for making a comment about not wanting to go.

After all these years, you would think her younger siblings would have learned to read each other. To understand personalities, ambitions, and intentions of those they call family. Then again, maybe Sabastian and Hanna had not learned the skill of being aware of anyone other than themselves. Rose didn’t make a move to pull her brothers apart, the worst Benji would do would be snapping Sabastian’s neck which would mean the youngest child would sleep for a couple of hours. Hanna, however ran to Sabastian’s aid at the first opportunity.

Rose shook her head, disappointed by her sibling’s actions and reactions to each other. If inner squabbling like this continued, they would not be able to retake the city. They had to act as one. Benjamin took off up the stairs with a mumbled order of when to be ready, and Sabastian fell onto the floor gasping with Hanna kneeling at his side.

After she was sure Benjamin had gone up stairs, Rose knelt down next to Sabastian. “You truly are stupid, both of you.” She grabbed Sabastian’s chin and forced him to look her in the eye. “I know you were not blind to Benji’s frustration with you, and yet you continued to push. You are a selfish little prat! By taking my tonight, he is flying under the radar. If you went, you would proudly, and boldly, claimed your status as an Original vampire. It would be a direct threat if two dominate males went. Taking me will cause Benji to look more casual and non-impressed. I can pass off as a date, no one of importance. And as a female I can gain more information then you and brother combined. Take a nap.” She growled her last sentence and snapped him neck, letting his body fall limp to the floor.

Hanna stood watching in horror. It was not often that Roseanna showed her dark side, and it was truly just as scary as Benjamin when she wanted it to be. Rose did not even look at her sister as she calmly walked up the stairs. Gently, she pushed Benjamin’s door open and leaned against the frame. She said nothing to announce her presence, but instead stood there watching her brother who appeared to be lost in thought.

Charles could smell the fear coming off the witch, and her screams almost made his fangs come out. Fear and the chase of his prey always managed to pull his brother wolf out to play. He was sure he had pushed it too far. All he needed was a way to hide. Suddenly, the door opened behind him accompanied by the chimes above the door. He turned on his heels quickly, afraid one of his father’s tracker dogs had found him. Instead, an older woman who smelled heavily of magic and… age. She did not look that old to him. He pulled his eyebrows down over his still yellow eyes as he evaluated the new person in the room.

At her threat, Charles let his eyes fade back to normal. This new woman in the picture made him rethink his tactics. This woman was not to be pushed around or played with, that much he could tell. Without a word, he followed the older woman to the back room, though every hair on his body stood on end, and every instinct told him to run.

If you run, he reminded himself, you will be sniffed out and dragged back to the Bayou and to the pack. With a deep intake of breath and one last glance at the young witch, Charles walked through the door to the back. Just as the older witch began to show him potions, the younger witch showed up behind him. It was strange he thought, just a few moments ago she was terrified of him and now she wanted to be the one to help. Then she whispered her explanation, and every muscle in his body tensed for a fight.

The young witch handed him a bottle, and Charles took it with no argument. “It will be cash.” He told her, his eyes never leaving the older woman as he backed out to the main room. He handed her a handful of cash and bowed his head slightly, his eyes still watching the back door. “Thank you.” He told her sincerely. Picking up the bottle, he turned and made a beeline for the door.

Benji was laying down, back first in his bed with his hand clasped together behind his head. He sighed softly after reviewing his actions over just a few moments ago. He never should've acted up like that but it was bound to happen to Sebastian since the smart mouth sibling always have something to say. His ears twitched when he heard footsteps approaching and by the glide, he knew that it was Rose. He didn't bother to look in her direction because maybe she was going to yell at him for what he did but everyone loses control and it was just Benji's turn to do just that.

With a soft groan, he sat up in his bed now and eyed her slightly. "I don't want to hear it, Rose." He said while turning his gaze away from her and looking ahead of him now. "The little prick had it coming and you know it." He muttered through his lips then looked up at her again. "Shouldn't you be getting ready?" He questioned towards her while getting up from his bed and walked over towards her. "You know it takes you hours, literately, to get ready." Benjamin chuckled a little bit, remembering when it took Rose five hours to get ready for a formal gathering. Although, it takes Benjamin awhile to get ready as well, so he really shouldn't be saying anything.

Benjamin eyes were locked with Rose's as a small smirk appeared among his lips. He leaned in the doorway as well, wondering why she came up to his room without speaking a word. His brow raised when Hanna appeared behind her, attempting to snap Rose's neck but Benji tackled Hanna to the ground and pinned her down. "What is your problem?" His voice raised as Hanna explained that Rose snapped Sebastian's neck and she just wanted to return the favor for him. Benjamin eyed Rose then looked at Hanna as he picked her up off of the ground. "You need to calm down." He'd reach up and snap her neck, causing her now limp body to fall on the floor.

With cracking his neck from side to side, he turned heel and walked towards Rose again, folding his arms over his chest. "So, why did you come up here again?" He asked her while walking past her and going back into his room, sitting on the bed. "Oh, what colors should we wear? I was thinking the usual..." He eyed her then leaned back. "Black, of course. Unless you had something else in mind." He said towards Rose then leaned up, waiting for her response.

Kylie accepted the cash with a smile and rung his order up then placed the money in the register when it opened. "No problem, hun." She'd wink then watch as he ran out of the door. She hummed and cleaned the counter off but felt the cold, piercing stare of Carmen. "What?" Kylie said towards her as Carmen eyed her up and down and shook her head. "How could you betray your coven this way?" Carmen asked. Kylie stammered for an answer then raised a brow. "I have no idea what you are talking about." Carmen scoffed and walked towards Kylie, towering over her a little bit. "He was a werewolf and you know how Terri feels about werewolves in her territory." She rolled her eyes then muttered. "Sounds like this Terri person has a problem with everything in the French Quarter. Maybe she should just leave."

Carmen raised her hand up to slap Kylie across the face but she caught her hand. "You may be an Elder but you're not my mother and I do not work for Terri. I saved him for a reason." Kylie spoke firmly and stood her ground against Carmen, who raised a brow and folded her arms over her chest. "Oh, really? And what reason is that, child?" Kylie smiled then leaned against the counter. "He's so dreamy." She laughed loudly as Carmen eyed her, getting a little bit annoyed so she just decided to leave the shop. Kylie was perfectly fine with that outcome as she stared up at the clock, tapping her fingernails against the glass counter top.

Night time was fast approaching so she went to the back and turned on the inside lights along with the few dimmed lights for the outside. When she walked back up to the front, she gasped, seeing about five people there, sniffing around. "W..Wh..What are you guys doing?" She asked as one of them spoke, a male. "A guy was here earlier. What did he want?" The guy walked closer towards the counter, tapping his claw against the glass. "Uhm, he got a dream catcher. Something about he was having nightmares about some ugly guy chasing him." She eyed the male before him and smirked. "You seem to fit the ugly description." The male growled as the others joined in.

Kylie eyed them all then raised her left hand up. "Alright, he was looking for something to mask his scent with but..." She grabbed the male by the arm as he was fixing to walk away. "Please, don't hurt him, just let him be." The male snatched his arm from her and chuckled without responding as him and the four others left the shop. Her heart was beating fast as she knew something bad was going to happen and it was going to happen tonight. Her ears could hear the male through the glass a little bit. "Find him, he just left so maybe he hasn't masked his scent yet." She had to go and warn the male from earlier but then again, she didn't know where to find him. With the shrug of her shoulders, she leaned on the counter again, waiting for her shift to be over.

Rosaline wasn’t surprised to see Benjamin laying on his bed. Generally when her brother wanted to cool off, this is where he would retreat. “I did not come to yell or chastise, brother.” She said, smiling at his reaction. Sometime it seemed to slip his notice just how alike the two were in many ways. It was just that Rose tended to be sneakier in her rage then her brother.

Benji got off the bed and came towards the door frame, making a comment about how long it would take her to get ready making her laugh. “I need exactly three hours to get ready, thank you very much! And we still have three hours. Besides, last time I checked it took you just as long to get ready.” She teased, poking him in the chest. About that time, Rose felt her sister’s fingers brush her neck as Benjamin talked the unruly child to the ground. Really, did their siblings ever learn? She sighed as she watched the whole interaction with her arms crossed. She owed Hanna no explanation.

Rose sighed as she watched Benji pass her with ease. It was amazingly sad how common it was to snap each other’s necks in this family. She always believed that blood stuck together. Families stayed together. However, she wasn’t sure if Hanna or Sabastian felt that way. They would both turn their siblings in at any chance of more power. “What happened to blood being thicker than water?” she mused aloud. “I snapped Sabastian’s neck to prove a point and make a lesson. He needs to learn how to work as a group, not a self-seeking power grabber.” She shook her head.

With a glance at Hanna, Rose pushed herself up off the door frame and waved at Benji without looking at him. “Black it is. I will see you in a few hours brother.” With that she headed off to her room deep in thought.

Once outside the door, Charles paused to put the potion over his skin then trashed the bottle. With a quick sniff of his arm for his own scent, he was satisfied. Now the trackers would not be able to follow his scent anywhere else. With a grin, he began to walk into town knowing even the vampires would not be able to spot him. Every mildly cute girl he passed made him turn his head, including the vampires. Oh, he loved that he could explore the French Quarter without care!

While walking down the street, Charles saw a pretty young thing that reminded him of the witch from the shop. Despite her rough exterior, she had been really helpful and saved his life. He stopped dead in his tracks, turned around, and ran back to the shop. If his father’s dogs hurt the girl, he would kill them all! As he came closer to the shop, he could smell the other werewolves and knew they were inside. “Damn!” he mumbled as he peeked through the door.

It did not seem, however, that the mutts were planning on hurting her and pretty soon they turned to leave the shop. Charles ducked behind a dumpster in the ally and listened. “Brad, you and Miko stay here. Guard the door in case the brat comes back here. If the girl tried to leave… capture her. She might be good bait for his too tender heart.” The leader, and ugly one, James said. The other three werewolves took off to get closer to the city. Charles cursed under his breath and peeked out from behind the dumpster. He could take the two easily but in a busy street like this, the fight would not go unnoticed.

There had to be a back door! Charles moved deeper into the ally way as quietly as he could until he found the back door. With a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching, he grabbed the handle and gave a good pull. The break echoed through the ally making Charles flinch. The boys surely heard that. He was running out of time. Quickly, he moved through the back of the shop and pulled open the door. “Witch.” He called in a whisper.

Benjamin shook his head at Rose after she said that she had snapped Sebastian's neck. A small smile did crept across his lips though but quickly went away as she left and waved at him. Benji got up from the bed and nodded his head, completely closing the door so that he could get ready. Benjamin wondered how tonight was going to go along with Rose. He was worrying himself too much about it, he thinks about the possible outcomes of every situation until it gives him a massive migraine. His hands raised up to rub his temples as he walked into his bathroom and turned his shower on.

After a few minutes of showering and freshening himself up even more afterwards, he emerged himself from a steamed filled and rummaged through his closet, looking for a suit to wear. He finally found something, it wasn't perfect but it was a suit. He placed the suit upon his body and straightened it out as he reviewed himself over in the mirror. He made sure that he was looking the part as he didn't really want to hear Rose's mouth about this and that. He didn't need to look perfect, he just wanted to look like he belong at the party, which he did since his family basically started the tradition of partying in New Orleans.

Benji was ready and he opened his door then looked down onto the ground, where he left Hanna's resting body but she was gone. His eyes widened as he ran down the stairs and into the kitchen, seeing Sebastian's body gone as well. "Uh-oh." He breathed through his lips as he ran back up the stairs and busted through Rose's door without knocking, it wouldn't be the first time he had seen her unclothed. That thought was pushed back into his mind as he stared at her, breathing a little heavily. "We got trouble." He said while pacing back and forth in the middle of her floor now, his hands reaching up to his hips now.

"I swear, I will end their lives if they start shit tonight." Benji was furious. If he seen Sebastian or Hanna at the party tonight, he don't know what he'll do but it will not be nice. His eyes reviewed over Rose as he raised a brow towards her and pointed his thumb towards the door. "Uhm, when you're ready, I'll be downstairs." He kind of rolled his eyes after giving Rose's body one more look over and bumping into the wall with a chuckle afterwards then exited the room. He walked outside and stood on the front porch, folding his arms over his chest and leaning against one of the pillars that held the porch together.

After hearing a whisper, she jumped slightly with a gasp then ran over towards him, grabbing his arms with her hands then dropped her hands by her side. "Sorry." She muttered in a hush whisper then pushed him into the back room so that they wouldn't be seen. "Who are you running from? And why are those people looking for you?" She asked without a moment of thinking. She made a face towards him, letting him know that she expected an answer. The bell up front dinged, letting her know that someone is up front. She turned her head slightly in the direction where the customers were then eyed him. "We're not finish here. When I come back, I want the full story." She demanded, turning heel and walking up to assist the customers.

"So, what are you guys looking for?" She asked while walking around the counter, seeing them turn towards her. The pair of girls looked her up and down then chuckled while walking away. "Okay." Kylie muttered a little sarcastically. "Hey, are your going to put a spell on us?" One of the girls asked as Kylie folded her arms over her chest. "I don't do spells. I predict death and I see two people dying in a few minutes." She muttered as the girls stepped towards her. Kylie wasn't backing down from them as they eyed her and looked at each other, scoffing and walking past Kylie and exiting the shop.

She waved them good-bye then walked back around the counter and into the back room. "So, ready to talk now?" She smirked slightly and raised a brow. The bell dinged again and it was Camille, coming to take over the shop for overnight. She walked into the back room and saw Kylie and a male as she raised a brow. "Oh, hey, Camille." Kylie waved at her but Camille's eyes were focused on the male beside her. "Hey. Who is this?" Camille asked while sitting her belongings on the desk and leaning against the wall. "Oh, he's an inspector." Kylie waved her hand dismissively towards him. Camille nodded her head and went up front.

"Maybe you can talk to me over dinner?" She asked in a whisper but knew his heightened hearing could hear her. Kylie walked up to the front to confirm things over with Camille as everything was good, she went to the back and grabbed her car keys and clutch purse. "I'll meet you around the back in the alley." She said with the nod of her head and walked back up front, saying goodbye to Camille, giving him enough time to get out and quickly exiting the shop. She made it to her vehicle within a matter of minutes then drove around to the back, waiting for the male to get in.

Once he got in, she'd drive off and go to the nearest Bar and Grill, which was named O'Brien's Bar. She'd park in the nearest parking space and turn her engine off, get out and wait for him.

Rose stood under the water, letting the steam and burning hot water ease her tension. Ever since coming back home, she had been nothing but stressed. The saddest part being that they had not even been home a full twenty-four hours yet. When had her siblings become so intolerable? Oh right, when they were born. A soft sigh escaped her pale lips as she ran her hands over her face. It didn’t matter anyway, she was going to win the French Quarter back anyway. Maybe there was still some happiness to have in this city.

A few moments later, Rose stood in front of her mirror in nothing but black lace underwear and a strapless push-up bra. Several black dresses littered her king-sized bed and she currently held one in front of her body, pulling the fabric around her stomach to gage if it was worth even trying on. “A million black dresses and not a single one to wear.” She mumbled herself throwing the dress onto the bed with the rest. She went back into her closet and pulled out a short black dress that hat lace over the shoulders and down the back.

About that time, Benji came rushing into her room and smiled at him in the mirror, not at all worried about the fact that she was practically naked. After all, it wasn’t the first time he had seen her in such a manner. She held her current dress to her body and turned from side to side until his comment registered and she turned around sharply, a scrawl on her face. “Did you look around the house? Maybe they are down stairs finishing their drinks.” She suggested, even though she knew they were going to be at the party. Cursing under her breath, Rose stepped into the dress she had in her hand and pulled it over her hips.

“Before you go, can you sip this for me, Benji?” She asked just as he was about to slip out the door. If her other siblings decided to go to that party tonight, Benji was not the only one they were going to have to deal with. Rose gathered her still-wet hair and began to arrange it into a fashionable messy bun that she held together with a clip Beji had gotten her centuries ago when they used to rule this town. “I’m ready.” She told time as she turned around. Her eyes were set with a fierce determination as she walked past him. Rose grabbed her heels and slipped them on as she walked down the stairs. “Let’s see if we can find our siblings before they reach the party.”

Charles glanced at the men by the front door nervously. All they had to do was glance back and they would see the witch missing from the counter and come looking for her. This witch was not making it easy. For a split second he entertained the idea of leaving her behind, but if he did she would surely die. Damn woman. He half sigh, half growled at her question. “Now is not the time to ask. Those men out there are going to kill-…“ The bell to the shop rang and he glanced up quickly only to breathe a sigh of relief. It was just humans. The little witch moved to go greet her customers, and Charles’ hand just barely missed grabbing her arm to keep her from going. “Damn it” he mumbled aloud while running his fingers through his hair.

A moment later the two girls left, but still Charles was shifting from one foot to the next, ready to leave quickly. Only they were interrupted again. This time the fired from earlier came back. He gave her a weak smile and waved a little in introduction. “Can we go now?” He asked in a strained voice. This new witch shouldn’t be in danger. Or at least he hoped. His eyes shifted back to his witch. “I am not buying you dinner, you little-…” She was heading into the shop before he could finish. If she walked out the front door, those mutts would get her for sure. Great.

The two men watched the witch past by them, gave each other a grin then started to follow her. Meanwhile. Charles charged through the shop after her, managing to grab the first werewolf by the back of his collar and bash his head into the concert before he could fight back. However, the second one tacked him before he could straighten. The two large men rolled into the street exchanging punches and trying to get the upper hand. Charles managed to get his feet under the other guy’s stomach and kicked him off and through the glass of the little witch shop.

Charles stood up and checked on both of his men. Both were unconscious but alive. He glanced up at Camille and shrugged at the damage he caused. “She should not have gone through the front door. These are two of the pack’s best men.” He explained then took off down the street after the bloody witch. His hands were bloody when he put them on the bar beside the witch. “I am not buying you dinner. You just had to walk out the damn front door? I owe you nothing, not even a story. Don’t go back to your shop for a while, they will be looking for you.” He nodded at her and dragged his hands off the counter leaving streaks of blood. “A beer please.” He called to the bar tender.

Benji was still pacing from side to side then went back into the house to yell for Rose but watched as she came down the stairs, looking elegant as ever. Hearing her words as they pressed to his ears, he nodded his head in agreement. He swore that if Hanna or Sebastian was at that party causing a ruckus, they would have to deal with his wrath and he was already in a pissed off mood. His eyes flashed towards Rose again as he linked his arm with hers. "My lady." He said with a chuckle then proceeded to walk outside.

The sky was darkening for the night ahead and a small smirk came over Benjamin as he walked alongside with Rose over to Terri's place, well, their old townhouse. Through the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter at this time of night, Benji could've sworn that he saw Hanna but shook his head as it couldn't have been her because she would be out causing a ruckus and not standing on the corner like a hooker. His eyes bounced towards Rose momentarily as they neared towards Terri's place, seeing that the N that stood for Neilson was stripped off and replaced with a S for Saunders.

"That bitch." Benjamin growled lowly, Rose would be able to feel his muscles tighten up around her arm. As they would enter the place, Benji placed a fake smile upon his face. "Hi there." He basically said towards everyone that crossed their path. His eyes scanned the perimeter for Terri and his brother, Sebastian and his sister, Hanna but he hoped that Terri would be the first one to make contact with his vision.

Kylie let out a small yelp when he came up beside her and saw that his hands were bloody. "Oh my god. What happen?" She questioned him silently then eyed the bartender, who looked at her then back at him. "I'll have a burger and fries along with Rum and Coke. Oh and only four ice cubes in my drink, please." She smiled brightly but that quickly turned into a frown as she turned and eyed the male. "You owe me at least something for saving your life." She said while glaring at him now. "I could've let Carmen kill you but I didn't. I could've sold you out to those rabid dogs but I didn't." She told him while shaking her head. "You could be on your death bed right now but I saved you."

She sighed as the bartender came back with his beer and her order as well. She thanked him and threw him a fifty dollar bill and told him to keep the change, which he thanked her for. Her eyes went back over towards the werewolf male. "See, I don't need you to buy me anything, sweetheart." Kylie said towards him while snapping her clutch purse shut then proceeded to add the necessary condiments to her burger before taking a small bite out of it.

As the night was dwindling, she was getting really annoyed. "Okay, you know what, maybe you don't owe me anything." She stood up and stood beside him, angry now. "Just know that if I see that man again, I'll tell him where to look for you. And one thing you'll learn about me is that I have no remorse." She spoke towards him then blew him a kiss while walking past him and exiting the cafe.

Rose put her hand lightly on her brother’s arm and let him lead her out of the house. Walking down the streets to their old home brought back so many good and painful memories. On one street corner, so vivid she could almost visibly see it, Rose remembered kissing the first boy she had ever liked in New Orleans. That kiss had made her heart flip and stick in her throat. It still did sometimes, when she thought about it. With a sigh, Rose shook her head. Of course, that night when Benji had found out a boy had kissed his sister he had killed the lad.

Rose looked up at her brothers face, and not for the first time, wondered why he was so jealous and protective of her. Hannah had been all over different guys, about one a night, and none of them ever died. Benji’s eyes flashed to the side quickly, and Rose followed his glance to a crowd of people but she could not figure out what had caught his attention.

Benjamin’s muscles tensed around her fingers as her finger nails dug into his skin. His growled words worried her. If her brother went in angry, they could start a war a lot soon then they hoped to. “That is why she invited us, Benji. She wants to taunt us. She wants your blood to boil. Do not let her see that her tactics are working. We are not going to win our city back tonight, we are here to meet, greet, and get information.” Rose whispered to him, trying to calm her brother down.

“Come.” She tightened her grip on his arm and pulled him towards the bar and ordered two drinks. “You need to breath and not go overboard.” Rose reached up and lightly touched the side of his face. “Just gather information.” She leaned up to kiss the cheek her hand did not rest on. The bartender put down two whiskeys in front of them. Rose grabbed her drink and flashed her brother a seductive smile. “I am going to go see if I can seduced any information out of the boys around here.” She patted his arm, and with a sway of her hip she approached another male vampire. Rose leaned up to whisper something in the man’s ear which instantly brought a smile to the guy’s face as he turned to face her.

If only she knew! He was trying to untangle her from the mess he was creating. The less she knew the better. Still, it did not seem to satisfy her. Did it occur to her that they were even because he had saved her life too? With a growl growing in his throat, he watched her leave the bar angrily. Let her go. Let her go. Let her go. He tried to tell himself. Of course he couldn’t let her.

With a growl, Charles down his drink, threw money down, and half ran from the bar. With ease, he found the little witch and matched her pace as she traveled the streets. “I saved your life, you know.” He told her in a way of greeting, though there was a growl like quality to his voice. “I could have not come back. If you went home tonight without leading those mutts to me they would have killed you, hoping I would come back for revenge.” He pulled of his unbuttoned shirt, leaving himself in only a white wife beater, and began to wipe the blood from his hands.

“This is the blood of the two werewolves outside your shop. They were getting impatient and were going to follow and kill you. So yes, you saved me. But I saved you too.” He finished wiping the blood that he could off his hands and threw the shirt into a nearby trashcan. “So tell me,” he stepped in front of her, blocking her path, “what do I owe you for saving my life?” His eyes were dark and dangerous once more.

Benjamin felt Rose's fingernails dig into his skin as it caused him to cool down a little bit. Rose walked over towards the bar and ordered them a few drinks as he nodded at her words. "Yeah, yeah. Sorry." He apologized towards Rose as she kissed him upon his cheek, which caused him to blush a little bit. Benjamin looked at the bartender as he sat down two whiskeys before them. "Thanks. Bottoms up." He held his shot glass out towards his sister before chugging it down with a hard gulp. After hearing Rose's words, he grabbed her by the forearm and brought her closer to him. "Just remember that you're mine." He spoke towards her sternly then gave her a playful slap on her right buttock.

A few minutes went by as he kept on ordering whiskey after whiskey. He turned to see how Rose was interacting with the other vampires and wondered what kind of information she is scheming out of them. His nose picked a nice scent as he turned and faced a female sitting beside him. "Hi." He said as she looked at him with a smile. "Hey." Was her only reply as she ordered her a drink. "Put it on me." Benjamin said while putting out a twenty dollar bill and handing it to the bartender. "Thanks. You're a big time spender, I see. But that's not going to work with me." She said after taking a small sip from her martini. "I see that you're drinking that martini anyway." She chuckled then eyed him.

"You got me there. So, what is your name?" She asked him while turning to fully face the male now. "It's..." Benjamin hesitated as the female before him raised a brow at him. Benjamin chuckled softly then eyed her, once again. "Sorry, It's Benji. You are?" He asked towards the female, extending his hand out for her to shake, which she gladly accepted. "Sophia. I'm one of Terri's close friends." The remark made him smirk a little bit as he turned to face the female now. "Really? So, where is the party thrower?" Sophia chuckled while placing her index finger against his lips. "You don't need to worry about that. Just worry about me." She laughed after those words then looked out at the dance floor.

"Are you going to ask me to dance?" She asked Benji with a smile as he chuckled and grabbed her by the hand. "Come on." While on the dance floor, Sophia kissed him on the lips and he couldn't help but do the same. Benji looked past her and saw one his siblings. "Uhm, Sophia, why don't you go in that room right there and I'll be there in a moment." Benjamin still knew their old home like the back of his hand. "Okay, stud. Don't keep me waiting." She said in a sultry tone. Benjamin winked at her then eyed Sebastian, which he crept up behind and grabbed by the throat, slamming him back first into the nearest wall.

"Screw up this plan for me and Rose tonight and I will end you, got it?" Sebastian was coughing and gagging as Benji released his grasp from around his throat and walked into the room where Sophia was waiting for him.

Kylie listened to the male speak as he wiped the blood of two wolves off of his hands with his shirt. She didn't really know what to say at this point but just continued to listen. "Yes, I saved you and you saved me. Can we just drop it and leave it there?" She went to walk off from him but he was blocking her pathway. Her ears twitched at his question as she looked up at him and scoffed with a slight eye roll.
"I don't know." She bit her bottom lip nervously still staring up at him.

"Hm, I'll have to let you know." She wanted to walk past him but then decided against it herself. "As a matter of fact, why not give protect me for a little while longer?" She asked of him then turned heel, letting her reddish brown locks of hair brush against his muscular chest before walking off. She went back to the parking lot where he car was as she stopped at the driver's side door and called out towards him. "So, is that a yes or a no?" She asked out loud before getting into her car and starting the engine.

Kylie looked in her rearview mirror and saw a beast trailing up behind her car. With a soft gasp, she hurried and locked her doors then eyed Charlie from afar. She backed her car up but the beast jumped up and was on the top of her car now. She turned her wheel violently and slammed on her brakes, in attempt to throw the beast from atop of her car but nothing happened. She would hope that Charlie would come to her rescue, again.
