Okay, awesome! I'm glad I'm in. Feel free, @thewizardguy, to post the Predator into the setting.

On the topic of Predator's power being fairly miniscule in comparison to most other characters, I can manage fine. You'd think a species born and trained to kill off prey would know when not to pick a fight in the interest of self preservation. I don't like having insanely OP characters personally, challenge is fun and I just feel bad and unfulfilled with stuff like that.

EDIT: If worse comes to worse, I'm sure I can come up with something or other within reason... Which from what I've seen is almost nonexistent.

@kishin asura @thewizardguy
Now, I am liking where Kishin is going with this. Another example of magic immunity is my character Clayman, but he does have a massive achillies heal, as I meant it to be. He's massively weak to fire, which an immense amount of characters can use in some way shape or form. He is also immune to direct magic manipulation, but something along the lines of throwing things at him with telekenetic abilties would still do harm.

Also magical fire still hurts him. It won't just totally vanish, it won't stick to him if it's enchanted to do so, but it will still start to cause him problems via drying him out...but here is another problem I have with Tyki's wire man.

Clayman's weakness kills him.

The wire man's weakness, which I am sworn never to reveal, does not. That is a critical difference.

Magical immunity is fairly strong, and as such should come with a weakness. All of my characters have in built weaknesses that depending on their power levels, are varying in strengths. Tsubaki's flaw is she's extremely sadistic, and as such may take longer to finish off a foe. This isn't so bad, as she isn't extremely powerful. Drac, he's massively powerful, but he'd stop fighting if the person had his family hostage, and would never harm another person's family, even it it meant him loosing the battle (As we have seen with his fight with bob.) Kilroy? He's made of metal. both a strength, and weakness. Get a huge magnet and stick him to it, sorta screws him. The dark one? It's a baby, and it's trusting, go make friends with it to win. Darkside? Extremely fragile soul. Saeid? He's...pretty weak, and as such, really has no weakness.

I'm just saying, the weakness should make up for extreme powers..and I don't think Wireman's weakness is strong enough.

To be honest, I never saw magic absorption as being overpowered.

Ok, let me put it into a situation where it's extremely powerful. Put in a character like for example..Dark Maka. A being of darkness and evil, but also..magic. Now, this wire fellow can absorb the magic in her, leaving her entirely vunerable to everyone else for a short time. It's not just making it so you can't be effected, but in some cases, make it so no one can use magic at all, if he can grab them.

Personally, I want to know if Mithias' vampire abilities count as "magic." Their supposed to be poorly understood supernatural, but non-magical powers. Like, is telekinesis magic? Is heat manipulation? What about shapechanging? And then I want to know if a life-drain/power-drain ability constitutes a consumable magic.

If it's mystical in nature then it's magic of some sort. this include telekensis, shapeshifting, pyrokenesis, and shooting acidic purple jizz on everything

Allow me to explain why this is a problem.

Without magic absorption, wireman is already more powerful than I would normally allow for a character. He's near indestructible, immensely fast and immensely strong. He's capable of holding his own against beings such as Drac and Bahamut, and due to his form physical attacks become useless. Any character that's immune to physical attacks only has 1 remaining weakness: magicall attacks. Which become completely useless when said character can absorb magic. So unless you guess the magic green rock Tyki has thought up, it's impossible for any character in HCL, no matter how powerful, to beat him.

You see that problem?

In summary: Nothing can kill him, he can kill everything.

Arcus wasn't overpowered because I interpreted magic fairly strictly, and because he wasn't immune to physical damage. If you were a magic user like the Hekate sisters, you could still fight him off by throwing things at him using magic. Make sure the magic isn't the direct source of the damage, but rather channel it through something physical. Furthermore, things like Soular manipulation and enchanted weapons could still harm him. He was a dangerous foe to be sure, but far from unbeatable.

Clawman isn't overpowered because his physical capabilities are low compared to most characters, and because his weakness is literally the most popular trapping for attacks ever. Pretty much every character has easy access to fire of some kind, meaning that any character has a good chance of defeating him. Furthermore, his weakness makes sense and is a logical extrapolation of his form. Unless wireman's great weakness is scissors, I doubt Tyki's weakness is of the same nature.

TL;DR:
Tyki, if you don't nerf your character I will be forced to interject forcefully. I allowed this character despite my misconceptions, despite the realization that magic absorption was overpowered. Because I was under the impression that it was beatable. Unless it is either nerfed, or someone makes me aware of a way it can be defeated, I'm having void teleport a black hole onto it.

Well what if wirebeast meets wirebeast? Who absorbs what then? You can't eat magic-eating. Also, are there any huge and obvious clues to his mystery weakness in his bio? It should at least be something someone like me could figure out.

Not helping......

Also, that's not what the cs says. It only says it eats magic. Not mystical stuff. And don't change it. I will know.

@Holding Coal

Probably wise

@Wraithblade6

In that case their powers cancel each other out and it's akin to a slap fight between children

@thewizardguy

Strangely enough, wire cutters are actually rather effective against him, as is using magic to effect things around him such as using teleknesis to throw a big rock at him rather than trying to throw him with telekinesis. also, i won't reveal his weakness directly due to fear of meta gaming, however, tiny did hint at it when he threw his two cents in.

@kishin asura

Magic is surprisingly wide spread and broad in hcl. it can be anything from soular manipulation from soul eater to the force, two fucking merlin farting lightning at people.

Edit: also, funn fact, the wire creature tends to not actually kill people. magical constructs, yes, people, no.
