Escaping Baronk

Blinking, your sore eyes adjust to the subdued light that surrounds you as you lay on the wet floor. Picking yourself up off the floor, pushing onto your feet with your hands, you take some wet straw and dirt with you. A soft trickle of water collects in your eyelash and you blink it away, a weak sting washing over your eye, but a refreshing cool meanders down your cheek and neck dissipating as it reaches your collarbone.

This is when you notice you are in rags, barefoot on the coarse stone among small piles and puddles of aged straw, dark dirt, dried blood and murky water. Finally your eyes have accustomed to the light, and you come to see you are in a jail cell, iron bars from floor to ceiling. You have no recollection of how you arrived in such an atrocious place, although the throbbing that is spreading from the back of your head suggests you did not come voluntarily.

Looking around your cell you see a stone slab jutting out of the rear wall – the only side of the 2 metres by 2 metres cell that isn't cast-iron bars. Judging by the small leathery cover over the slab, that is your bed, and the befouled hole in floor next to it is less than exceptional.

Taking your mind away from your cell you can see that it is one of eight in this large room. Each cell being identical;

  • one stone bed
  • one dirty privy
  • one iron door
  • one unfortunate occupant

Although not all of the occupants are alive, as you can see in one cell a large and mostly decomposed Orc skeleton, it's hands locked onto the iron bars of the cell door as if it were still breathing. Speaking of Orcs, one sits at the very end of the room on a stool next to a solid iron door, a large chunk of meat being ripped apart between its teeth.

It is this sight that brings back a painful memory to your bruised body, a raid of death and fire. You tried to fight but after a blow to the head you fell, you remember the taste of the dirt as your face was dragged through it – away from your burning home.

As it happens I do have time to spare, but not a whole lot. So this will be a fantasy tabletop RP. As in any fantasy world there is magic, but in this RP a Lumberjack or Lord alike can't just read an old book then blow apart their local the next day just because the Land lord was a bit of a dick. Around 1/4000 of the population has magical potential and even then they may never attempt to tap into it.

As for races this RP will involve the average Humans, deep cave dwelling Dwarves, tree hugging Elves, flesh eating Orcs and plain annoying Goblins. All these races are playable.

Relations between these races are as such:

Most Dwarves hate Elves because they're much taller than them, they will try to say it's because of some ancient feud, it's not. Most Elves dislike Dwarves because they are greedy and because hate is too strong a word for their fair hearts. Humans have mixed opinions on everyone, because they tend to try and get the best of both worlds. Orcs dislike most other races simply because they are disliked equally as much, that and pale skin disgusts them. Goblins hold distain toward all but their Orc superiors, and they hate dwarves with a searing passion, as Dwarves hate them.

Basically Humans try to be nice, Dwarves don't even attempt to do the same, Elves are pompous tall people, Orcs are different and therefore evil and Goblins are their bitch.

Classes:
Warrior
Hunter/Ranger
Wizard/Mage
Rogue/Thief
Captain/Paladin/Cleric
If you have any others you think should be here, tell me.

So yeah, if there is interest I will make a Goddamn thread, capiche?

Thanks for reading

Oh! Pick me! Pick me! :)

I'm thinking a female human ranger would be fun. Or (with your permission) a goblin shaman type.

The first victim has come forward.

That is a fine choice.

If you only get a few takers, I'm game to double up and take two PCs. Though, hopefully we get 1 or 2 more!
