I'm glad to see Tatsumi is finally learning some local facts now! Iredele isn't supposed to make sense >:)

She just play by the dark fantasy Hero's Handbook. I'm playing her like I would play Geralt on the Grey Warden, always on the dark hero path. To put it under a better perspective. She wouldn't burn someone's house just for the lulz, but sure as hell she wouldn't save them from the fire if she didn't felt like it was worth of her time somehow.

It was sort of the ancient precursor to Chemistry, and mainly centered on people trying to turn base metals into gold.

I'm sticking my D&D veteran's nose on this discussion to say that in this kind of setting Alchemy is actually part-magic/part-science. You do a lot of chemistry related stuff, really, but some concoctions aren't possible without the use of magic. That's why on D&D you had to be able to cast magic to do some alchemical stuff. As long as @TheWindel agrees I think it's the best approach to take.

EDIT: I appreciate the Absolute One's almighty thumbs up. *bows in reverence*
