The first bit of it is up - as per our PM, if you want to post next, then I'll get another one up from their POV that should dovetail into yours, and also back into the main groups' storyline as well.

Actually it isnt bad. Most of us building our gears had too many weapons. So you are doing fine. Just build it in a way that makes sense for you and it should all work out.

um for those who are new how will we enter the story?


I will write you in at a dramatically appropriate point. Right now, it wouldn't make sense as we're right in the middle of a battle. However, once this scene is done and the debriefing immediately following, I can add in something to introduce your character. We have losses to replace for a start, and I already have in mind our next destination, which will allow your character to be introduced. I'll PM you ahead of that to explain how I'm going to do it, but it won't be for a few posts yet.

And regarding the weapons etc, as they're modular and interchangable, you don't need to have them listed on the sheet to begin with, as you can have different ones mounted for different missions, so don't worry too much.

I just realized we already have a medic. I'm gonna change my stuff around and make my CS/GEAR some other role. oh and change my GEAR while im at it. I like Silverwind blade's better.

Aristo - your character looks fine, although I would have preferred for you to have posted them in the Characters tab as requested, rather than in the OOC. I'm happy to approve him. Should be interesting with all those links to the South, given who we're up against currently.

Caliban22 - don't worry too much about a specific role. As the GEARs have modular weapon and equipment systems, everything is flexible, so it's better to be a generalist than take on a specific role. And it's less of a headache for me :P
My GEAR has been trashed, actually, as of the last battle, so I'll be creating a new one soon and posting that, shortly before I get it IC. However, the model of GEAR (the Harlock) is actually used widely by the LDF, so your character having one would make lots of sense.

@caliban22 Hey, don't mind my character's role. If you wish to be a medic, go ahead! Besides, having only one corpsman for the entire squad is a pain in the butt, I had to break from my own squad to rush to a wounded pilot from another squad, leaving those poor sods in fate's hands.

One more medic in the team would be really beneficial!

The more medics the better! Someone has to go with the injured back to base, afterall. And the helicopter crew being relieved of that responsibility can help them focus on the return home rather than assisting with stabilizing patients ^^

Yes, I'm plotting already! Mwahaha.

In other news, I've got another post up, replying to Machine's post, and also to the remaining GEAR pilots. I'll get another one up after all of the replies are through from that one, and it ought to round everything off, and have us moving toward the next goal.

Also, if you hadn't realized it, Ramzam has decided to drop out. His character will be carted off to hospital, and IC will be retired from GEAR piloting as a result.

She looks good, and the GEAR is mostly fine, I just wanted to clarify a couple of things regarding it before I approve though. Mainly regarding the flight ability - I'm a little confused by the explanation.

allows the Nordwind to be a flight capable GEAR, while not efficient in lifting the gear off the ground they do pack enough power to get the GEAR into the air and flying at high speed, they are more commonly used for performing long jumps making the Nordwing a very adept fast attack unit. The Thusters allow for 30 minutes of flight before putting the GEAR into reserve power.


I highlighted the bit that confuses me - are you saying it can fly for 30 minutes (50 with the batteries), or that it can make longer distance/height jumps with 30/50 minutes of fuel for said jumps?

I'm okay with the longer jumps, and if the limited flight is, say, not exactly fluid (more of a baby bird than a soaring eagle, let's say xD) then it would be fine; after all - a GEAR flying is never going to be a supersonic aerial assassin. Even the Southern GEARs we encountered have limited aerial capacity.

I kind of see the idea of the Nordwing as being an experiment that tried to do something, didn't quite manage it, but was still judged to be useful enough in other ways to be adopted as a line-unit, with the flight (such as it is) being an unexpected bonus that occasionally comes in handy for particular strategies and situations.

I getcha, so it can fly, but not well, fast, high, or for any length of time that'll really help it beyond getting somewhere a little faster. It's no dogfighter, but it has a limited advantage in some situations; and is really better suited to long-range jumps than true flight.
