The sun is rising as a new bus full with prisoners arrives at the front gate of Oswald State Correctional Facility. These prisoners are destined to be the first occupants of Emerald City, the prison's newest cell block. Several guards are standing outside to guide the prisoners to the reception room.

Gang leader Hernando Guerra glares out of the window as the bus approaches Oz. The facility towers above them, as high as it is. Oswald is said to be the biggest prison in the United States of all time. Right next to Hernando sits Miguel, vast asleep and cuffed up. Hernando bumps him with his shoulder, as his hands are still cuffed. Miguel slowly wakes up and peers over to Hernando, still dazed. "What?" Hernando grins and nods to the towering building. "We arrived." Miguel slowly turns his head to his right and sighs. It seems the bus is finally coming to a stop. Hernando peers around. He has only spotted one fellow Latino so far. The rest doesn't really bother him. There's a tough looking Russian dude, a woman, an older man with glasses and a few other people. The bus comes to a full stop and the door swings open.

Edward Kemper walked out of the bus and coughed a few times.
"Oh boy. A new prison. This is going to be an adventure, I'm sure.
He shrugged, talking to himself before standing in a line before one of the guards.
Edward didn't want to get involved with any of the gangs here, he heard how vicious the other inmates could be. Although they aren't the only ones. His past experiences with other inmates had all ended in his favour, albeit violently.

"Please tell me this is a dream...please.." Diego sat with his hands cuffed, on a bus filled with inmates, to what appeared to be his worst nightmare. Why? Why of all prisons did he have to be sent here to Oz? "Eight years? Who the fuck are they kidding? I'll end up with a lot more time here considering the kinda shit I'll have to do to survive..."
Once stopped, Diego slowly rose and began to trudge his way out of the bus and find his place in line. He tried not to look around too much and began to space out while looking at his feet. "So I guess this shit's real..." he quietly whispered under his breath. This was definitely reality. This was his life now.

Maceo looked over the group of inmates in interest. It was really the only way he could focus without fire... Or... Drugs. He was never a hardcore drug user or addict; growing up on the streets of Memphis had shown him how much that could fuck up someone. Maceo only liked to use drugs if it was the absolute last resort. And it honestly felt like it was. His last lighter had run out of butane before he'd even stepped on the bus, but even then, how would he use a lighter inside the cramped vehicle without anyone noticing?

Of course, normally his urges didn't result in him craving fire that bad. It was a combination of something else -- possibly a mixture of excitement and anxiety -- pushing him too hard. Focusing. One man that looked around his age's eyes showed nervousness. He was probably new to all of this. A buff, giant had a few Russian features and just looked... Intimidating. Maceo automatically decided that he didn't want to get on his bad side. The only ones that perked his interest were an older man that seemed like he shouldn't have been there, a woman, and Séamus, a fellow Blue Face. Maceo cast a smirk at him.

The excitement came from thinking about how much Blue Face could grow from being in an new environment. Sure, they were rather powerful when it came to distribution of contraband, but nearly anything else caused Maceo Camden to think they fell inches away from the stars. They weren't necessarily weak. They could defend their own and surely weren't scared to. They just liked to analyze every decision, and Maceo always thought they could do better.

"You're not a perfectionist." He muttered.

Walter sat there in the prison bus, looking diagonally at nothing moving his chin about.
"Strongest one here?

he looked around and seen no one better then Thomas in his mind. He seen people look and glance at him. He only knew the people's faces from them looking at him. "Basterds" he said quietly.
"Who's this old guy, what's he doing here, I'll get him in the showers"
he thought as if he was mocking them in his mind.

"Basterds get cut." he said quietly as the bus stopped.

"You did the right thing!"
"You're going to die here!"
"Everything's fine!"

Séamus tried his best to ignore the voices, but he hadn't taken his medication in weeks, and they were at his worst. He rocked back and forth in his seat as the bus drove to the prison.

"Everyone thinks you're crazy!"
"Don't worry!"

Suddenly, Séamus heard a gun shot behind him and look around. He realsied that it was just a hallucination, but looked at the people in the bus whilst he had the chance. He saw a slightly latino man, who was muscular. He then saw a much more muscular man, who didn't look like he wanted to be messed with. He quickly looked away, and saw Zippy, the leader of the blue faces - the gang Séamus was in - smile at him. He quikly smiled back before looking back at the floor as he heard the voices again.

The guards have led the prisoners towards Emerald City. When they arrive there, the guards uncuff the prisoners. Emerald City consists of a common room with TVs, chairs, tables and a pool table in the middle. The common room is surrounded by glass cells with a toilet, a sink and one bunk bed each. In the middle of the common room sits Geoff Glynn, the unit manager of Emerald City. The guards are spread around the corners of the common room, 4 guards in total. As the inmates start flooding in, Geoff Glynn starts speaking.

"I welcome you all to Emerald City. This is an experimental unit inside of the prison, where you will get more freedom than anywhere else in the prison. The daily regime goes as follows: We wake up at 6 AM. You have an hour to prepare yourself." Glynn gestures towards the room on the south end of Emerald City. "You can wash yourself there. At 8 AM the breakfast is ready and you can proceed to move to the canteen. At 9 AM you are free to go where ever you want inside the prison. It is advised to get a job somewhere you like, otherwise we will assign you to a job. Examples: you can work in the library, the post office or in the canteen. There is lunch at 1 PM and dinner at 6 PM."

Geoff Glynn takes out a list and starts reading it. "The cell assignments are as follows: Camden and ó Flannagáin to cell E01, Alvarez and King to cell E02, Kemper and Belov to cell E03, Guerra and Guerra to cell E04 and Bélanger to E05." Glynn puts the list under his arm and smiles towards the listening inmates. "Your own clothes are already laid down on your bed. Take care of yourself." With those last words, Glynn climbs the stairs towards his office.

Sasha had remained silent throughout the bus ride to the new prison section. His eyes glazed over as he gazed out the window. The idea of this new block was nice: being able to move around more. But at the same time, he would have to start all over again. At the old block, he had the guards eating out of his hands. He got away with so much shit.

As the bus pulled up to the block, the guards ushering them off, Sasha looked around at his new blockmates for the first time. None of them looking like the kind of people that he would socialize with. He'd have to reassert himself pretty quickly, what with the free roam atmosphere. One of the prisoners, a woman, caught his eyes. That was odd; why would put her in here? Not that he was complaining; he'd always liked a nice view.

Sasha looked up again when a man came to talk to them. He made a rundown of the schedule, a brief introduction, and then left. Sasha furrowed his brow and looked around. Was that it?

He wondered who his new cellmate was. Kemper? That was a German name. He looked around for someone who matched that depiction, but when it wasn't glaringly obvious, he lost interest.
It doesn't matter. They won't keep him with me long. Sasha thought to himself, pretty sure of it. It was true that, back at the old block, he'd only had a cellmate once. The man had only lasted a couple days; Sasha had told him to stay out of his stuff, and the guy hadn't listening.

Sasha moved away from the group, wandering over to the cell marked E03. It was pretty spacious. He slunk into and sat down on the bed to the right, deciding that this would be his.

It felt like freedom when Walter was freed from his handcuffs as the guards led them to the emerald city. "E02, Alvarez?" Walter didn't mind who his cell mate was big, or small The knives can handle whoever he points the finger too. Walter walked off quickly to cell E02 and paced waiting for his cell mate to arrive. Shortly after he grew tired of waited (though he didn't wait long) he sat on the bed in the left hand side, he sat quietly admiring the room. (Though it was prison so not much to admire) Walter sat there on his bed looking around the room thinking of his "Perfect" escape thats what he told Thomas. He looked at the other bed from across the room and smiled, honestly he didn't even know why he smiled.

"Oz may be more fun then I hoped." He actually laughed for a short period of time.

Diego listened to what the guards had to say while he was being freed from the uncomfortable restraints he had just spent the last few hours in. It felt great to feel some sort of "freedom, if you could really cal it that. "King?" He began to look around and tried to see who this inmate was. Relief washed over him when he saw an older man walking over to Cell 02. "He doesn't look like to type to pick any fights, but I'll be watching him. Could be a fuckin' nutcase for all I know." Diego waited a bit before following after his new cellmate. He tried his best to remain alert the entire time. He'd heard of how bad prison could be, and honestly, he preferred to stay on his toes always rather than find out the hard way.
As he approached the room, he heard a laugh that sounded almost demented in a way. "Of course I would get stuck with a damn loon!" He entered the room trying his best to act normal, as not to upset his new cellmate. He'd have to sleep in the same room every night, so he preferred it if things stayed non hostile. "King, I take it? I think you can already guess who I am...I see you've claimed the left, so I'll just get comfortable over here to the right." Diego then began to fold his clothes the way he prefers and tucked them away under his bunk.

Correctional Officer Norris walks with a pair of keys through Unit D. It is 8 AM in the morning and everyone is still drowzy to wake up. The prison was at it's best during the morning hours. He walks up to cell D12, which is Grant's cell. "Sarah Grant? You have been chosen to be transferred to cell block E." Norris fumbles through his keys and takes the correct one out. He opens the cell door for Grant. "Stand here, please." says Norris as he takes out his cuffs.

"Here you go. You are assigned cell E05 with, uh... Béllinger." Norris starts undoing Sarah's handcuffs. "Welcome to Emerald City. Make yourself comfortable." The gate closes behind Sarah.

Sarah mumbles swears and annoyances under her breath, shaking and rubbing her wrists as the cuffs are undone, she sighs and looks at her new cellmate, offering nothing near a smile she would scoff under her breath, looking the skinny girl up and down and saying "Anorexic" before going to her own bed and laying down on it, staring at the cracks in the roof silently

Shallow breathing broke the near quiet of a Solitary cell block. It’s occupant paced the malodorous cell as he contemplated his current predicament. Familiar as he was to the inner workings of the System, he’d been unable to sleep. Not since he last spoke with his Unit Supervisor. He’d been under the impression that his involvement in a fight earlier that day was the topic they would discuss. Instead, the Supervisor imparted some news upon the young prisoner: he would be transferred to a new cell block come morning.

This was hardly anything to be rattled by. He’d made it through juvie and traversed his first few months in prison remarkably well. Hell, he’d even kept his composure when told of his imminent transfer to the infamous Oswald State. That being the worst news a criminal could receive. He stopped mid stride as a buzzer sounded, indicating the solitary cell door was soon to be opened.

Quickly, the prisoner threw himself down upon his cot, hands clasped in a lowered steeple. He didn’t want to give the guard any reason to use force against him. Only his bouncing leg revealed his unease. Fluorescent light flooded the small room. A prison guard of middle age barely peered inside. He simply stood in the doorway, blocking access to the corridor.

“Move it Brigs.” He ordered. As commanded, the prisoner stood fluidly and faced the guard, forearms outstretched. As he was fashioned with cuffs, the prisoner offered a terse grin.

“Elliott works fine, too.”

Elliott was ushered hastily to the Emerald City cell block. Once behind its gates, he was surprised to see the other occupants being released of their bonds. Elliott stood in stunned silence, awaiting his cell assignment. so he too, could be rid of his cuffs.

Idiot!

Séamus walked over to the cell marked E01, ignoring the voices in his head. He looked around and saw two beds, deciding to go for the one on the left, and sat on it. He felt an itch on the inside of his left forearm, and began to scratch it. There were marks from where he had self harmed before entering the prison.

Find a blade!

Séamus tried his hardest to stop the voices in his head, but it was futile, he couldn't stop them.

You'll never be normal!
You're stuck like this!
You're going to die!

Correctional Officer Connolly walks up to Elliot as he inspects him. Connolly seems to be holding a list in his hands. He looks down on it, after which he turns his gaze back to Connolly. "Brigs? Cell E06 for you. Your clothes have already arrived." Connolly nods to E06.

After that, Connolly turns around to look at Séamus. He eyes him with interest. Séamus looks Irish, just like Connolly.

Sarah would walk around the block, glares burning into her, several guys wolf whistling her, one particular male yelling out "Hey hot stuff, How about you come back to my cell and drop the soap!" which caused Sarah to have a near instant reaction, moving forward and punching him in the nose, drawing blood, he would shrink back, reluctant to speak.

A guard would advance on this opportunity, moving up to Sarah and pushing her back forcefully, yelling "That's enough from you!" and sending her back into her cell, confining her by cuffing her to her bed "You stay like that for the night you hear." Sarah responds with an angry grunt, pulling her arm that would be cuffed to the bed, searching around for a lock-pick, but to no avail

"Anorexic, Could use with some help here." arah would ask her cellmate

Maceo's smile faded as he were freed. There was nothing wrong with getting roomed with Séamus - no, that just meant his luck intensified since he'd be in with a fellow Blue. There was just nothing to smile about. Yes, they'd be given special privileges, but what hope was there? Camden didn't have much hope for the outside world - it was like a disc continuously spinning eternally; forever graduating from the class of a record player. "...Yet forever resting." He muttered to himself as he went towards E01. On his way there he saw a few Blue Faces that gave a small nod in his direction.

He didn't have the time to worry about much else. His own stability, drugs, and lighters. His sole roll in the disc at Emerald City didn't change. Supplying the inmates with drugs would always be Zipply's quick stop. As Maceo got to his room door, he saw Séamus-

"Shit man, are you okay?" He tried to force emotion into his voice. His roommate was clearly scratching his arms with a determined yet puzzled look on his face... Like he were talking to someone. "Do you need your meds?"

Diego accepted the mans hand and shook it firmly. "Agreed. I'd like my time here to be as easy as possible. Red, was it? Would you happen to have a cig?" It was strange that King went by "Red". This was most likely for some sort of violent reason. He doubted anybody in Oz would be capable of stepping up to the level at which he was used to fighting, but that wouldn't stop someone from killing him in his sleep or even save him from a small group of others trying to get him. "I'm going to have to watch my back and make sure I don't give anyone a reason to stick me while I ain't lookin." However, staying away from conflict would prove difficult after a certain point. Diego stays away from trouble so long as nobody fucks with him...and unfortunately, that's just not how it works in any prison.

Red listened to Diego's want of a cigarette. "I will, in a few hours don't worry". Red was counting on Officer Maynes to bring him a pack of cigarettes. After all Walter did loan him some money before Walter was sent to prison. He lay down on his bed, but before he had time to rest. Officer Maynes arrived earlier then presumed. "KING! get your ass out here!" Red stood up and walked out with officer Maynes, Maynes brought him to his office and shouted at him about beating other prisoners. He just needed an excuse to bring him somewhere secret and give him the Cigs, he would always bang his baon on the table twice to sound like beatings. Walter was escorted back to his cell by officer Maynes. "Here now your in my debt" he said to Diego walking up to him and throwing a cig on his pillow.

Red lay on his bed and looked over to Diego placing a finger on his own lip signifing "Queit"
