Anyone who is versed in Lovecraft's books will instantly recognize the title "From beyond" as a short story written by him in his earlier years of writing. This RP would revolve around a very similar premise. For those not familiar with the story I shall explain the plot of the RP. Please forgive the rather rushed writing.
Your character is the best friend of a scientist in the study "Physical and metaphysical." As time passes you will watch as your friend descends into apparent madness. His theories become wild and strange as he raves about the world beyond. His conjectures become more far-fetched and his job at the laboratory is lost. He becomes a shut in, locking the world out and keeping his comings and goings a secret. Then one day you are called by him to his house to bare witness to his greatest discovery and the terror from beyond.
That's what I am looking for in a nutshell. I am looking for someone to play the friend of the mad scientist. any gender is more than welcome for the roll but If you wish to put a love spin on the story I would request that the opposite number be female. Also on the subject of love in a Lovecraft story I am not against it but I am also not very interested in it either if that makes any sense. If my opposite number feels it is something they want I would have to ask that it be of relevance to the story and not something shoe horned in for the sake of added romance.
