Appearance:Medium height and mid-length black hair with a single left-swept red highlight on her bangs. Her blue eyes have peculiar gear-shaped pupils with eight grooves around the edges. Her outfit coming into the series is a simple white shirt with a red ribbon tie, a black miniskirt, white sneakers, and a black & white jacket with rolled up sleeves. During her childhood, she wore a red collared shirt with a white skirt and white shoes.
Personality:She has a relatively simple personality: fierce and stubborn. She fears very little but does have a recurrent flaw of monophobia. She shows fierce determination in finding her father's killer. Her stubbornness was taken up to ridiculous levels both psychologically and physically. She's also a kidder. Fluent in sarcasm, passive aggressiveness, and in-your-faceness.
Abilities:Remarkable strength and speed for a girl of 4'9", a climber, a runner, a swimmer, supple. Athletic. Pure athleticism and strength by carrying her red scissor blade family heirloom.
Inventory:* Scissor Blade – Ryuko's signature weapon is one half of a giant pair of scissors, which she wields as a one-handed, single-edged longsword. Because she's immature, she uses it for immature means too like ping-pong, tennis, among other ridiculousness.
