I think I'm going to go ahead and call this one dead. I might start this up again in a few months when the Star Wars RPs around the site die down because the star wars players are all being divided up among a dozen RPs. I might make something similar to this but set in the Halo universe if anyone would be interested in that...

@VandyThat's understandable. I think something of the Halo Universe like this would interesting.

@Vandy Sad to hear that Vandy, but understandable. If you wanna give it a second go at something similar, why not try it but at a smaller scale perhaps? You said doing something in the Halo universe? Perhaps a team of Spartans or something?

I was Thinking more along the lines of regular marines. Something smaller scale would probably work though. Maybe instead of taking control of an entire brigade (legion) like we did in this we could do a single company. That would be much smaller scale but still allow us to control a military unit. It would be much more character oriented and players would control 4-5 character squads instead of battalions of troopers.

Thoughts?

@Vandy Hmm, yeah I think that would work rather well. Like you said, try the Halo universe or perhaps other sci-fi settings, like the Mass Effect one perhaps

@Mortarion@Vandy I like both of those ideas, Halo and Mass Effect are great universes. I personally don't think it matters the scale of unit we do. We can still zone into specific characters or squads. But, if you think it would be easier to do a smaller scale, then I have no objectives.

@Mortarion@Trigani I think I'll go with Halo, it just seems like it would be easier to make a gritty war story. Don't get me wrong, I love Mass Effect but the reaper war wasn't actually that long in canon (not that I'm aware of).

If you are interested I think the Halo RP would start in the early years of the Human-Covenant War. Like 2529 during the Harvest campaign.

@VandyI remember reading Halo: Contact Harvest. There was some grit, so I am sure we can definitely do something like that. Decent read as well.

@Vandy Hmmm, I'll admit to not have the most extensive knowledge of the Halo universe (I know the basics if the story, and the motives that the Covenant had for attacking the humans) but I think the Reaper War does gives plenty of material to make a gritty war story, I mean on one hand you've got the impending sense of doom the reapers give, the husks (not to mention the effect that having to fight them has on soldiers), and you can always have some of an air of paranoia due to the threat of indoctrination.

But, that's just how I see things. If you think the Halo universe is better suited, so be it. It might take me a while to make a bio if you end up doing the Halo RP though (due to, like I said, my lack of extensive knowledge of the setting)
