"Almost there I coulda had it!" for perhaps the 3rd or 4th time a small catlike creature thought to itself as it lifted its small 2" across paws from a metalic surface to reveal nothing but empty space beneath. Zace as the glowing catlike being was called, had chaced an exceptionally interesting butterfly into the monolith graveyard, and had thus gotten lost. The last pale rays of moonlight were just sinking over long distant mountains to yeild room for the basking glory of early morning sun. The thin cloud cover was painted vibrant shades of pinks and purple.

Zace was seemingly unarmed, wearing no armour to protect itself, and carrying no swords or guns with which to strike his foes. This did not however hold accurate. Biologicaly, Zace was equiped with a wide arsenal of tools which grew from its crystal core into Zace's bright body. Streaming behind the pool of electrons which composed Zace's mass, were 3 tails in total, each roughly 12 feet long and made of individual floating crystal spinal segments. These 3 tails flicked about the area around Zace, feeling out the enviornment as the creature walked, and for such reason, they were the beings first line of defence.

Defence wasnt on Zace's mind however. Today, the young catlike creature sprungg to and fro across the massive monoliths of the monolith graveyard, chasing birds and insects that the creature preyed upon. Zace was making a routine of crossing the monoliths from utop. Zace would bound across a monolith in only 2 or 3 steps before leaping up into the air, stretching its paws apart, and lofting over to the next monolith at speeds of up to 50mph due to Zace's incredibly light weight. Zace's tails and large rabbit like ears caught morning light and shone gloriously for all to behold.

Morning light flooded the region in photons, electrons, and radiation, which permiated through Zace's body before being refracted by the crystal workings within, thus slowly building Zace's "sun charge" a measurement of how much of Zace's total energy output is made available without the need for nuclear fision. At a value of 10 out of 100 sun charge, or less, Zace's bodily functions and natural defences would begin to fail. Currently, seeing as evening just ended and Zace still needed to recharge, Zace was at a 30 point value suncharge, which would increase more and more rapidly as the sun rose higher and more directly overhead.

The introduction of sunlight sped up Zace's processing ability, now allotting the being to see around corners and target even fast moving objects accurately. This placed Zace on an agressive edge as it traveled, inflating the beings sense of dominance until eventually:

"ROOOOAAAWWR!!!" Zace let loose a metalic roar that consumed the graveyard, echoeing off the massive metalic monoliths it was the sound of the catlike being asserting its dominance on the region, challenging any whom heard the call. Furthermore, the creature was now on the hunt not for just birds and insects or lizzards, but rather the larger animals in the region; those whom might pose the confident cat a challenge to keep its newly claimed throne of awesomeness. Zace being quite fond of the concept of power and being dominant would have no mercy for his prey.

“No need to shout, I can hear just fine.”

Satori emerged from the morning mist with slow plodding steps. A smug smile tugged at each corner of her mouth and lent an air of mischief to her approach. She had been observing the raucous feline for a few minutes now and while the initial shock had worn off she was more curious than ever and with only one hundred and twenty feet between them she was free to examine the crystalline contours of his body, so very small to be issuing a challenge and yet trailed by arcs of power several times his length.

When not saving the fine gentlemen at Shin-Ra Industries from themselves she was free to wander and wander she did. Traveling here and there through the cracks in time and space, spying on strange creatures from beyond the stars and visiting fantastic new locations. The Monolith Graveyard had found its place in heart thanks in part to the loneliness it carried with it. The graveyard itself was nestled deep within a mountain range and slumbered beneath a constant blanket of cold mist, days were beautifully overcast and nights were hauntingly beautiful, of all the places she had encountered in Guild Space this warrior’s resting place was the first to well and truly win her over.

What of Satori herself though? Well she was tall, nearly six feet, with a lean predatory body and pearlescent white skin. She was currently wearing the same no-nonsense brown coverall that had become a staple of her wardrobe. It was a rustic outfit better fit for a day laborer, tucked into a pair of thick boots and rolled up to the elbows to avoid touching black gloves, the front was unbuttoned just enough to reveal a pink undershirt, and if not for the air of quiet confidence that she carried herself with a day laborer she might have been. For a human Satori’s face was pretty but childish with a layer of baby fat that would never fade and eyes too wide to ever truly be intimidating. The bulk of her black hair had been combed over to one side, cresting high over itself before falling along her left profile or bunching up defiantly around her neck, that which clung to the right side of her head had been braided in place.

And she was armed.

Of course she was armed. Too many belts wound around her waist and on her left hip hung a sword, its sheath a deep shade of midnight blue and its tsuba replaced with a miniature engine, while her right bore a handgun, the black barrel’s length bordering on ridiculous and its hilt replaced with a spike of white bone. At her shoulders she wore a coat of white fur, stripped from some fantastic beast or another who had given his life to keep the Princess of Darkness warm, with the bundle at her throat dyed a deep shade of red. A third weapon was hidden behind her back, a small workman’s hammer that could unfold itself into something far more fantastic, and about a dozen pieces of materia had been slotted either into her equipment or her clothing with another half dozen resting safely in her pockets.

All of these were tools, impressive ones that Zace would be able to sniff for a scent of supernatural power, and ultimately supplement to Satori’s true power. Yes even with the sun peeking its head over the horizon, unable to be seen by the mountains on either side but still throwing its glow upon them, the darkness pooled around her. At dawn they were little more than vague implications on the material plane but they chattered amongst themselves in curious voices. Right now there was no power there but rest assured daylight would not deny Satori the dark power that burbled inside of her, merely restrict the amount of angles that she could take advantage of without cost.

Somebody had spoken after Zace's roar, presumably to catch Zace's attention, which it did. From utop the monolith Zace stood, zace turned just its head to face the sound scource, whilst its body remained pointing about 45 degrees to Satori left side where Zace had been facing originally. Zace's lower half was not visible to Satori from this angle, neither were his tails accept for breif instances on occassion.

Zace's tails were flicking to, fro, sideways, and whichever way instinct drove the tails, often crossing their paths, though the tails did not interferre with each other's movements due to their separations. Whilst the tails twitched and flicked, they would often have individual segments collide releasing small flashes of light. Zace began directing more sun energy, 2 charges worth of electrons and photons into the tails, which brightened the intensity of the flashes which occured roughly 3 every 2 seconds. For about 12 seconds this would make looking at zace without eye protection carefull. Propper eye protection against these flashes, which were brighter than Zace, would however render Zace nearly invisible to the human eye.

From utop his platform, hopefully disguised by his tails, Zace puffed its chest wide, directing 2 more suncharge to his chest. This suncharge began refracting within Zace's core crystal, giving Zace's whole body a red glow. This symnbolized for Zace "assault mode" which was the most consuming of his suncharge, but the most offensive form.

Zace turned his body to face Satori. In but a moment, if no measures were taken, he would unleash his breath attack upon Satori. Observation of the enviornment was limited, Zace could barely see Satori at this range in the dim morning light. He could vaguely make out the shapes of the monuments at that range, though everything in between was crystal clear, even around corners. wherever the morning sun shed light from around the dim mountain peeks was especially visible to the cat.
