@Aisling "She had some fatty things," Dracula answered.

"We will just let her sleep and see what is wrong in the morning. Most likely nothing. Or growing." Mystique spoke softly as she tucked Fiona in her bed.
"She has been on the busy side of things lately."

@Aisling "Having some sleep in the noon isn't that bad, especially not for children," Dracula said.

@CountDracula
"That is very true. I insist on a quiet period but we have been so busy lately. Fiona and I do our best when we know what to expect and when. She will survive without one meal. Later today I'd like to show Toma and Fiona their village. I am going to encourage her to write a letter a day and keep a journal. It is up to Toma if he wishes to participate the activities that I have planned." Mystique spoke as she watch Fiona sleep quietly.

@Aisling "So, you won't be unschooling?" Dracula asked. "Because if you're unschooling, you ask what the kids want to do before planning anything. You go by nothing but their interests, and maybe their special needs if that is necessary."

"If I remember right, I said that I that I was going to encourage Fiona to write a letter a day and keep a journal. I didn't say that it was a requirement. Mystique smiled at Dracula.

@Aisling "And that goes against unschooling," Dracula said. "In unschooling, you don't encourage the children to do anything. You let them do what they want, without trying to push them to do things. If she wants to write a diary entry and a letter every day, she'll do it without you encouraging her to do it."

"If I was allowed to do as you are suggesting, I would not be writing now. I would not have learn math either nor the small amount of science that I was told that I needed, then I would not have learn any of it. What I do know is that Fiona is at a disadvantage being what she is. i need to encourage her but not push her. If you want the responsibility of another child then fine. I shall go elsewhere and let you have her for a while. And I am serious about this. And it will be a temporary period of time that is set." Mystique spoke calmly yet there was hurt in her voice.

@Aisling "You really don't know anything about unschooling..." Dracula said. "If unschooled children see that they need something, like maths or science, they will learn it. Otherwise, I wouldn't know about any of these things either."

"I never heard of unschooling until you told me about it and I just can't understand how someone would want to do something that he or she does not know. Maybe I am unteachable. I do have some book work to do, please excuse me for a while. I prefer to get things that I hate done as quickly as I can so I can enjoy other things that I do enjoy." Mystique spoke as she stood up and gave Fiona a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Think on what we discussed and we can talk again."

@Aisling "Children are naturally born learners. Otherwise, they would never know how to walk or talk. The problem is that forcing them to learn destroys their curiosity," Dracula said. "While schooled children hate it to learn, unschooled children usually love it. They will stay up late to do some math or get up early to read. To them, there is absolutely no difference between playing and learning. It's you who has to think."
