"Goodnight my King." Crim whispered back as fell asleep. The next morning Crim woke up and went to see Seralth before heading back to Leo and venturing onward toward Astal. As she rode, she kept one dragon in her arms the runt of the bunch. "So what are our plans?" Crim asked a bit worried. She didn't want him in the battle, but knew he wouldn't just leave the battlefield until the very last Ironbane was dead.

"Lady Crim, we missed your presence at the counsel last night." Rosline surprised them and rode up to them. Again, with Alexander by her side.

"My apologies, I was a bit tired. Seralth and these little ones keep you on your toes. Plus training soldiers every time we stop. It's a lot to do." Crim smiled and sighed softly. It was taking a lot out of her and she was beginning to get more and more tired throughout the day.

"Of course, milady. May we keep you two company on this journey?" Roz asked with a smile. Her smile grew when Crim nodded and said she would love their company.

"Aye, we could do with the conversation." Leo said. He turned in his saddle and gazed over the line of soldiers, healers, supply carts and livestock. He was quite proud of his army. It was much more organized than the Goldenblade force had been in its first few months. He had 1000 infantry, 500 cavalry, and 500 archers. The two dragons were also flying above the army. His confidence in their victory was incredibly high.

"Lovely, what shall we talk about? I'm sure being royalty has treated you two well. Crim is looking as beautiful as ever in dresses. I must say, when you wear one you look like a proper lady." Roz half bowed to show her respects to Crim smiling as she did so. "And you my King, royal garb suits you." she added.

Roz's compliment made Crim blush and looked at her dress as she rode. She had not put her armor back on due to the long trip they would be taking. She felt as if it would weigh her down and felt heavier now that she didn't wear it as often. "Thank you Rosline," she nodded in response to the compliment. "I know you're not very fond of dragons, but would you like to hold on? It's only a baby and can't do much damage at all. This one is much too sweet to harm you." Crim offered. Roz reluctantly nodded and cradled the dragon in her arms. As she heldit her fear started to subside and she felt more comfortable with it. "Thank you, milady." Roz spoke softly as she held the scaly creature and soothed it to sleep.

Leo nodded his thanks and looked up at the dragons in the sky. He returned his gaze to the road, his eyes darting to either side, ever ready for an ambush.

Crim noticed Leo's nervousness and placed her hand on his arm. An attack was a possibility, but the dragons would it coming and Seralth wouldn't leave her baby down where the dragger is. "Easy, if there is a threat Seralth will come down and stop us from running into it. She wouldn't risk that one's life, nor my own. She's becoming more protective, over both me and her babies. It will be alright. You don't have to be so tense. Besides, you have me. I'll protect you." Crim smiled and joked a little. She would protect him but she knew it would always end up the opposite and him protecting her instead.

Leo took her hand and squeezed. "I know, i know. But you cant blame me. The Ironbane presence is everywhere in North Vedrus. Thats sort of what bothers me. We can take Astal but that wont obliterate the Ironbanes. If anything it'll make it harder because we wont know for sure where they are anymore, and i cant risk our people's lives, chasing down the remnants of a ghost."

"We will cross that bridge when we get there, my love. For now, just try to relax. It's not as if we are in the open with no protection at all, we have dragons and some of the best archers there are. If there is a threat we can handle it. Look behind us, you see our numbers. If the Goldenblades troops are already there or are on their way, then no Ironbane would travel straight into an army. They will spend their forces guarding the city and preparing it for war. Once the city falls, they will have to leader to follow and the rest will crumble. We should focus on making sure our troops are ready for anything when they get to those gates." Crim explained as calmly as she could, trying to assure him. She was a bit scared traveling through these parts as well, but she believed what she said. And hope Leo would too.

He nodded and closed his eyes for a moment. "The sooner this is over, the better. Im tired of being a soldier. I'm ready to be a King and maybe even an adventurer." He smiled at the thought.

Crim smiled. "Soon, very soon." she held his hand tight and thought of what the future held after the war. It would be so pleasant. No unnecessary killing, or bloodshed. She didn't like being a soldier that much either, but being out in the forest was what she was used to. She wasn't sure how good of a queen she would make. It worried her a bit.

A few weeks after leave Ritahloras, Leo and his army were camped outside the walls of Astal. The Goldenblades had decided to starve out the Ironbanes for a bit before attempting an attack. Leo stood on a hill that was on the outskirts of camp, pacing and gazing at the city. The wind was blowing, causing his cloak to billow about him. His hand rested on the pommel of his sword.

Elora's food started to diminish causing her anger to grow and fester. "Those damn soldiers! Im hungry. I'll just have to take a bite out of their forces." she hissed as she stood up and walked to her balcony. Deamiel was sitting in the corner sharpening his sword and being quiet which was unusual for him. "Deamiel, would you like to scout their troops with me?" she asked with a smile. He nodded and stood. He would never pass up a hunt.

They took to the sky and landed on the top of the wall that overlooked the outsides of the gate. "Looks like my wolf friend found some new people." Elora said in a sight hiss. It pleased her to see in the distance a scaly, flying beast. "And he brought his dragon wench." she knew she was in for a good fight.

Elora yelled to a soldier to prepare for battle. They would send a small army out to deal with them and keep the rest inside. "Lets see how he handles this."

Crim left the nurses tent a bit distraught and made her way to find Leo. She had been feeling sick lately and now she knew for sure why. Crim had suspected it and knew it all along, but she couldn't tell Leo. He wouldn't let her fight if she did. Finding him atop a hill behind the main parts of camp she stood near him. "Leo, are you alright?" she asked cautiously, worried about him. He had stressed the whole trip here and now it only seemed worse.

She had trained all the archers well and they could fire their arrows, hitting their mark, while on dragon back. It made her proud. Seralth's babies were also flying now and could breath fire. They weren't very big, but they were still very deadly. "Leo?" she asked again, grabbing his arm this time.

Leo saw a small force of about 100 men charge out of the gates. He chuckled, knowing that the men were scared witless, heading towards an army of 15000 men. He didnt understand the need. It seemed to just be a waste of resources, considering they had two dragons. He whistled and Seralth and the Big Fella both swooped down, torched the men, and then came back and landed on the hill on either side of Leo. He looked towards the city, smiling and saw a speck standing on a balcony, which gave him a weird feeling. He shook it off and pat Seralth on the neck. He turned at looked as someone grabbed his arm. "Oh hi love! How are you?" he asked, still smiling with satisfaction.

Crim looked at him a bit worried. "Is everything alright?" she asked again, realizing her hadn't heard her. "I'm nervous about this battle. Something seems off." she added. "There's something that just isn't right about this place. That castle, its got some sort of dark aura." Crim felt uneasy about it and the uneasy feeling settled in her gut making her feel even sicker. She placed a hand over her stomach and looked at the ground, trying to keep from getting ill.

Crim nodded as the feeling went away. "I'm fine, love." she flashed him a smile, hoping he would believe her. "When do you think we should have the archers fly over?" Crim asked quickly changing the subject.

"Nightfall. We'll have the army surround the city and clang their weapons and shields and then send all the dragons in. Have them set fire to everything and have the archers rain hell down upon the inhabitants that try to flee. I'll use the magic from my sword to set wards around them, so they cant get hurt. Then, when they open the gates, they'll run into a line of soldiers. It'll destroy their morale, they'll be restless and starving and scared. It'll be a quick victory. The only thing we really need to worry about is the vampire. We'll probably have to fight our way through the burning city streets and to the main keep." Leo nodded, confident in his battle plan.

Crim nodded in approval. "The little ones cant stay at the same altitude as the bigger ones so you'll definitely need to shield them. They will be the most vulnerable. Unless you keep them at the different gates. There they are more of a scare tactic to insure soldiers don't take up arms. And that way, they are safer." Crim offered. The sick feeling came back and she turned away for a moment trying to hold it back.

Leo nodded. "Make sure the little ones target actual people though. Have Seralth and Big Fella burn any and everything they please. I'll lead my Rangers with a ram to the front gate." Once the force he captained, his Rangers now made up his personal guard.
