Darkness. The only emotion he could feel or see. His entire life flashing before his eyes after a single mistake, a single mistake that could cost him his life. All it took was being at the wrong place at the wrong time, witnessing something he shouldn't have, and a bullet to the chest. Bleeding out quickly all he could see was the darkness.

He fell back, unable to move, speak, anything, only hearing his attackers footsteps as he rushed off. A small puddle formed around the body as he laid there, cold, helpless, and innocent. He hadn't done a thing wrong, but he could quite possibly lose his life after one false move. Now all that he could do was watch as people screamed and ran, unable to call for help or beg someone to save him. is this how I die?... I-I don't want to die.... Please... Someone please... He thought to himself, a single tear running down his cold cheek.

The smell of gunpowder and blood lingered in the air, The latter scent heavier, more condensed. The screens and the sound of people running had been what had first drawn her attention, the smells had been what drew her forward. She stood now, on the edge of a sidewalk on an empty Street, hesitating on the balls of her feet is she stared at a fallen figure on the other side of the road, dark grey blue eyes wary.

Cassidy Thomas was a woman of average height and build, with striking shark features that gave her an elegant face. Her hair, a midnight black in color, was cut into a stylish a-line that framed her narrow face and brought out the color in her eyes, Even in the darkness of early evening. She briefly ran her hands through her hair now, debating her decision as she watched the man bleed out and die only feet from her. The greater part of her being was telling her to run, to leave the stranger to his death... But her natural instincts were screaming at her to save him. For Cassidy was a healer at heart, a former doctor, And every nerve in her body was screaming at her to save the dying man.

Finally, with a soft snarl, The young woman hurried across the street, crouching down next to the stranger, ignoring the pool of blood beneath her sneakers as she pressed her fingers instinctively into his throat. Her grey eyes flickered quickly over his body once, Making a silent note of the wound in his chest before she carefully scooped The stranger into her arms with surprising strength, cradling him close as she began to run in the direction of her apartment.

"don't worry. I've got you. I won't let you die." She whispered, each sentence corresponding with a beat of a foot hitting the pavement. '... That is, if I don't kill you trying to change you.' She added silently to herself, a brief grimace flickering across her face.

All Blake could see was the silhouette of someone over him. He was cold to the touch and didn't respond to anything. All the noise he heard was simple and indecipherable mumbles. His whole body ached as he tried to move. Unable to, he continued to scream to himself in his head. "Please!!! Save me!" which translated to a low grumble as he tried to speak to the person over him.

The man in her arms mumbled incoherently, though Cassidy thought she caught a help somewhere tucked away among the words. She briefly tighten her grip around the stranger. "yes. I'm helping you." She reassured, even as the salty smell of the blood was strong in her nose.

The few blocks to her apartment seemed to stretch on forever, Interspersed with meaningless words of comfort and reassurance, before Cassidy spotted the familiar building looming up out of the quickly gathering darkness. With a soft grunt of effort, she increased the speed of her pace as she stepped between an Open section in the outer gate and avoided getting spotted by a couple by ducking around a few weeping Willows before sprinting the distance to one of the outermost buildings of the complex. Running up three flights of stairs, she panted Saufley from exertion as she braced one of her legs against the wall, using it to hold up the injured man and freeing one of her arms to be able to fish her keys out of her pocket. Quickly unlocking the door, Cassidy stepped inside and swiftly close the door once again behind her, Relocking it before hurrying down a short hallway to a guest bedroom she had. Stripping all but the fitted sheet from The bed, she carefully set the stranger down onto the dark blue surface and began a closer inspection of his injuries.

"still with me? Can you understand me? Squeeze my hand once if you hear and understand what I'm saying."Cassidy question firmly, placing one of her hands into one of the stranger's. With her other hand, she began ripping away the blood soaked shirt, exposing the hole in the man's chest.
