I have an idea of an RP where several mages are pit into some sort of struggle, whether it be a competition over a magic relic or grand power, or even possibly a war between two groups. There will probably be a few catches. Each character can only be classified into one of 21 different mage classes (a list of classes, inspired by real rpg classes/jobs, being given and only one character can fill each class). As you can probably tell, though, I'm having a difficult time coming up with an actual plot, so I am posting here first before doing a casual interest check to find more members. I know some of the little details I would want to use, but I can't seem to actually get a good idea going in my head. So I am looking for someone to help me come up with a good story line and possibly co-GM with me so I can get this thing started! PLEASE HELP!

Oh cool! I really only have ideas on the little pieces so far, like the classes, certain terminology, and stuff like that. I actually came up with a character not too long ago that I've been wanting to use and haven't been able to find an appropriate RP. These are the little things I have so far though!

What kinds of things would a summoner be able to summon?

This sounds like Fate/Stay Night. Ever heard of it? You could draw some inspiration from it.
I'm interested in this idea by the way, if you ever get it off the ground I'd be interested in joining.

Edit: Oh hey I totally missed that last post of yours. With your mention of Magic Circuits I'm pretty sure you already know about Fate/Stay Night lol..

The summoner would be able to summon a beast, or even several, to aid them in battle or even other ways.

I have. Haha! Actually, the character I had in mind is essentially based around Tohsaka Rin when concerning magic. I thought of doing something similar to Fate/Zero or fate/Stay Night, but I haven't been able to really come up with an original idea I wanna use yet. =/

I was thinking that maybe we could go off I book a read. It was kind of like mage Hunger Games without the sponsors. The guys (who are basically the Game masters) that run the game give out these objectives for the mages in the tournament to complete, and more often than not, they mages end up killing each other. Whoever is left gets this object of power, but the twist is that the Game Masters never gave out objectives, so the mages went around "thinning" the competition.
They did this on a really large area of land that had wildlife and village. It was a pretty cool book, shame I can't remember the name of it.
