I like the idea that, though this is a different form of reciprocation based economics, Riley is used to bartering for goods with favors (presumably not sexual stuff, but that's just how her culture is, right?) so the idea that humans pay for everything by having sex all the time is just normal to her, thanks to the damn internet, but the concept of money is completely foreign. Like, want an anchovy pizza on her planet? You at some point are going to be expected to reciprocate with volcano baked sponge cake. Want an anchovy pizza on Earth? F#$% the pizza guy. And occasionally multiple partners are required to, "reciprocate," the pizza guy, the specific justifications of which are lost on Riley.

Clearly we should be fighting war with p@rn. The aliens see it right away. ^^ I dunno, Alex doesn't have the personality to censor anything anyone watches. She probably is more concerned that Riley would put herself in danger fighting super villains than that she'd f#$% the pizza guy without understanding the societal impacts of doing so. (And OOC, I like the idea of Riley just thinking that humans are like p@rn logic humans) Considering the age groups of the team, maybe that isn't such a good idea though, I dunno. Who gave her a tablet anyway? I mean, it could be justified that her only access to the internet is through Shannon, who probably does have a V-Chip on the home interwebs, and her little go phone that presumably isn't being used for much pr@n watchin'.

@Hyper HarlequinIan, beinng rather protective of Riley, would definitely sit her down and explain why you should never use porn as a basis for human behavior(as well as why she hoild never watch or read such filth). It's not really that hard, just say it's for entertainment.

Hardpart comes when she asks Ian why humans find watching other humans mate to be entertaining.

I like that we have this divide between the levels of social conservatisms between the different members of the team. Like, Alex would never care about anyone sleeping with anyone (unless she was interested in one or the other) let alone watching pr@n, she'd be more likely to sit there and watch with Riley than V-Chip her tablet, Andrea is very casually gay, Hana is fairly conservative, Swarm less so, Ian is literally afraid of going down the routes he could go down if he followed that path, and Malcolm considers anything remotely sex related, let alone gayness, as being immoral and illogical.

Meanwhile, each of us are showing her a very different take on what being human is. I mean, Alex shows her this raw cynicism coupled with an intrinsic and obvious fear of death and the belief that anyone can be good if they choose to be and the past means nothing compared to the present, Andrea shows her this caring side of the human condition with the underlying knowledge of her impending death, Swarm shows her a sped up version of growing up in a harsh world and developing self confidence in the process, Ian shows her how difficult it really is to walk a path of righteousness while being the outwardly most damned of us all, and Malcolm shows her how easily humans can withdraw into the cold, hard lizard brain logic as well as just how much we can take and still come back to the light side of the fence. Mostly though, I think Riley thinks we're all petty, surface-focused assholes who could be a lot more happy if we would just get over our egos and let each other in.

Come to think of it, I actually think Riley is obviously the main character of this story. Just sayin'.

Double-Dollar Edit: Also, I'd like to imagine that her people don't have a concrete way of reproduction and the functions of it vary on a case-by-case basis. Hell, some people probably don't mate with other people and reproduce asexually

@Hyper Harlequin Well, I don't think we actually have a legit protagonist, but if this was a TV show, I think she'd be the clear favorite. I like the idea that they don't have any particular concrete way of reproduction and, if your going with the mating dance thing we talked about, that if they simply don't find anyone they ever connect with, never choose a partner I mean, they reproduce asexually and basically do a phoenix thing. Their biological clone then begins life anew, grows up, and upon reaching maturity continues looking for a partner. Kinda like Buddhists with reincarnation, except rather than enlightenment they're looking for a partner to create new life with, and that's basically their escape from the lifecycle.

Also, on double dollars; that obviously doesn't have to be a thing, I just didn't know what the currency was properly called, so I went with that.

And now, imagine Network working on his computer, in the base.

"New patrol routes approved. Latest reports checked. All seems fine. Hmm? What is this?"

And then, he finds something interesting.

His phone suddenly starts ringing.
