2011, millions of people fall victim to identity theft, this year alone hackers will steal 19 billion dollars - it could be happening to you, right now. What is a hacker? Someone who breaks into protected computer systems, gains access to sensitive information or can change the course of political events. The majority assume this doesn't affect them, but it does. Anybody can become a victim, even the most average person, more specifically - their wallet. They aren't only interested in information, they want your money, passwords and encryption won't protect you. Even now, someone on the other side of the world could be spending your money, their network is vast and has it's reach everywhere, they are a people with their own rule of law and their own secrets. Some people within the community look for a little more, if you can make money and cause a little chaos, why not? Right?

In the real world, maybe you were a zero among ones, some kind of flying weirdo is what they'd call you. But on the net you felt a sense of belonging. Hacking is like magic - in the sense that they're both about deceiving people. Of course the community has it's people the exact opposite. Self-confident, charismatic, a winner. These were the types who would tell you never to not always hide behind your computer because man's the main flaw in security. Making their money on the black market aside from credit card and all other types of fraud and theft. Some people figured the more audacious they were, the more they could achieve. Hacking everything and anything they could get their hands on. To these people the rush was like a drug, a fix they needed almost like a junkie reliving their last high. Some people just never knew when to stop. But everything has a consequence.



Looking for one long-term RP partner who's interested in the premise to undertake a story with me. We can work out details in a PM. I'm hoping to do this through threads as I prefer to keep my RPs in specific places. 18+ because it'll cover dark themes, I'm not too pushed on romance but I don't have any issues with including it in the RP, same goes for smut although that'll have to be kept to PM, can take it or leave it if I'm honest.

The story will follow our characters as they progress deeper into this world and become as the title suggests, dirty, filthy rich. I want this to be progressive so the RP will begin before they are loaded and whatever else and follow the journey.

Note; I'm looking for active players who can post at least once every 3 days with daily preferred, I'm no grammar nazi but expect a decent level and depending on how active a post count 2-8 paragraphs per post. As for protagonists I was thinking we could double up, there are a few key characters I want to get covered including;
• The software junkie – They can find a bug in any application, friends refer to them as ‘crazy since always'.
• The hardware freak – Give them a paperclip and a motherboard and they’ll build you anything you want.
• The code monkey – Machine code and languages, something easy to say you know but harder to prove. But they're nothing to this keyboard wizard.

Working Character Idea

A & B knew each other in a past life - that being their teenage years, not anything supernatural in case you were wondering. One thing to note about growing up in a small town of 30,000 is that everybody seems to know everybody; and social cliques are more prevalent in (especially among teens) because of it. Life goes on and they say you don't stay friends with those you knew in school. College or Uni comes along and life kind of sweeps you off your feet.

The two were never best friends but had known each other through friends and hung out quite often when they were younger. Finishing school the two went their separate ways moving to other ends of the country to study. Fate has a funny way of working however and when done with their studies whether in an institute or the university of life both found themselves back in small town. New circles the two meet again online, specifically on the same dark-web forum, a collective of people with special interests in programming or code of differing expertise. Some people in the online gathering made some serious dough while others had made huge statements, the really good ones had made some serious money on it too. A & B meet in person, with their own agendas the RP will focus on the story from this point on where the two delve deeper and are welcomed to the underground and the rekindling of a friendship. Romance can be involved or not, depending on how we work it out.
