2117.

Individuality doesn’t exist. Originality is an abstract notion. Creativity and ingenuity are weeds cut at the roots.

Oppression.

Depression.

Disconnection.

This is the world we created. A world we accepted.

Intelligence gave us technology. Technology made us dim.

A consumer culture fueled by a capitalist society kept us preoccupied.

Freedom.

Independence.

These things are but faded memories, masked by gadgets and toys and trinkets and ploys of a faux equality amongst the classes.

The News kept us ignorant.

Our celebrity culture kept us aspiring for a reward that would never come.

The year is 2117. Ruled under a single governing body, the world is gliding through a cultural and technological renaissance; peace reigns with a leather leash, the economy is more stable than it’s ever been, and we’re on course to repairing the damage done to our atmosphere throughout the previous two centuries. Population has flourished, bordering thirteen billion. Cities, with skyscrapers grazing the clouds, stretch for miles upon miles, brandishing neon lights with tantalizing sounds of consumerism and opportunity. Medicine has almost eradicated all disease, and the mortality rates plummeted exponentially. Genetic and physical modifications and plentiful, to those whom can afford it. But isn't that the catch; if you can afford it. Whilst these privileges are plentiful for the upper classes, the working classes slave away day after day, contempt with their lives as long as they feel they are contributing to the system and earning a ‘living’, if it could be called such a thing.

Everything is connected. There is no longer a divide between the online world and the real world. Neural-Interfaces are the height of popularity, meaning that the user has complete access to the online world through their own eyes, at the cost of a small device surgically attached to them. Print media is extinct, the majority of food comes in the form of flavoured injections unless you can afford the real stuff, and we face a world in which everyone is so wrapped up in the latest technology, that they spend their lives grueling away at uniformed careers to make ends meet.

Welcome to Unity, the single largest city in our capitalistic world. It's said that, whatever you're looking for, it can be found somewhere within the maze of streets and alleys, skyscrapers and dens of inequity. Unity is a city that harbors not only the most militant police force in the world, but is at the pinnacle of technological innovation; everything comes from Unity, with its outerlaying factories that stretch for miles upon miles, to its dazzling structures of glass and steel. As beautiful as it is corrupt, the city truly never sleeps.

The Unity Metropolitan Police, a force to dense in Genetic and Physical modifications that they're barely human any longer, keep crime minimalistic, through 'less conventional' means. The Government has no say in the cities doings; the corporations have made it a testing grounds for their innovation, and control the streets through the police force as though they were King.

It’s time to add a little anarchy into the system.

It’s time to break the mold.

So, is this an RP about causing chaos and whatnot? The text you have there doesn't exactly tell me what our actual characters are going to be doing.

Yeah, I'm still putting a few things together. As it stands, it's an open-ended role-play centered in the world I described above. Essentially, our characters will be breaking away from the empty-minded norm that has become society and trying to bring it down to ashes, for whatever reasons you'd like your characters to have.

Name: Unknown

Alias: Mad Jack

Gender: Male

Age: appears mid-20s to mid-30s

Appearance: Tall, somewhat burly, wears a head-covering mask with a mechanical rebreather and a multi-pocket, armored black jumpsuit. ((I have next to zero artistic talent, so unless Google has a similar image, I fear this'll have to do.))

Background: No one knows the true identity of the notorious outlaw known as Mad Jack. He claims he used to be a very simple, lower-class worker who absolutely despised his lot in life, but never had the strength to stand out. Then, one day, someone offered him the Nano-Bytes. The power he felt after being treated with those things almost immediately went to his head, and he went on a rampage. Unfortunately, his rampage went a little too far, and he ended up bringing down a small building down on himself. The same mysterious individuals who gave him the Nano-Bytes, fortunately, recovered him before Unity's police forces could. The accident severely damaged his internal organs, even with the Nano-Bytes present (he seriously went overboard). Now forced to wear a rebreather, he's resolved to take down the entire global system - although he intends to do it much more carefully this time around.

Personality: His alias isn't Mad Jack because he liked the way it sounded. Anyone dealing with Jack should be very careful, as his impressive intellect is matched only by his psychotic and dangerous tendencies. Jack loves nothing more than causing chaos and anarchy, but he's very careful not to overdo it again. He spends a lot of time planning his next move, executing his maneuvers with surprising tactical brilliance. His current goal is to raise a rebellion against "The System" - his title for those in control of Unity and the world - and tear it all apart. While some agree with his desires, others see him as a dangerous madman. Either way, watch out for Mad Jack.

Morality: Not in his vocabulary. Jack does what he wants and what he feels needs doing.

Skill-Set: Telekinesis, unarmed combat, excellent marksman, explosives expert

Other: Currently seeking like-minded individuals to aid the Rebellion ((Leave your Star Wars references at home ;) ))

Reminds me of Psycho Pass, except from the bad guy's POV. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what kinds of powers are allowed?

This is a WIP uwu

Name: Tori

Gender: Female

Age: Early twenties

Appearance: Tall and fit, Tori could be pretty if she tried. With her broad shoulders and short, dirty blonde hair she could appear to look like a male from behind, but her body is much slimmer then a males could be. Her legs are long and strong, and her slim arms hide muscles. Her face is squarish, with large lips, a small nose, and round, gray eyes. Normally seen wearing form-fitting outfits that could possibly work as camouflage for when she is leaping around the city. Has many cuts, scars, and bruises all over her body from accidents of all kinds.

Background: Ever since she was little Tori knew the labors of a working class citizen. Her parents both worked hard,

Personality: A very independent soul, Tori finds working on her own to be a bit easier. She is very hard-headed and ruthlessly sharp-tongued, and if there is something that she needs or wants, she will not hold back at trying to get it. Cynical, her trust in people is faint, but she believes they all have a reason for living and thus refuses to kill any of them unless she completely needs to. Around those she trusts (which are few and varied, seeing as her making friends is very unlikely) she is kind, protective, and comfortable. Other then her people skills, Tori is surprisingly dim-witted when it comes to computers and other electronics, and hates the idea of being "modified" with these things and as such tries to avoid them the best she can. Her thoughts on today's society are "everyone is blind and stupid" and as such she has a strong sense of chaos, always wanting to cause a bit of an uproar to try and attract the attention of those always looking down. When it comes to planning, Tori is more of a "act before thinking" type of person, which sometimes works to her advantage (especially when it comes to free-running). It's not that she doesn't think at all before jumping, she just tries her best to do both at the same time. Has a very good memory, and she likes to draw maps of the best running routes she remembers during her free time (which helps with her tracking skill).

Morality: Will not kill, innocent or not, only when she is in a very dire situation.

Skill-Set: Free-running, hand to hand combat, tracking, mapping out areas
