Welcome to my story repository! Below is a list of pairings, tropes, and other details, of which are all negotiable since collaboration is far more entertaining than strict, linear stories. If something catches your eye please feel free to reply or PM me, even if the most minor detail sparks an idea. I'm looking for a couple long term partners who write in an advanced or novella style. Although smut is not the goal I don't shy away from it either, so please be 21+.
If there was ever a moment to be thankful for insurance, it was now. The entire skyscraper was engulfed in flames, the outside shell of mirrored glass splintering from the heat and becoming a macabre prism casting rainbows and shine on the neighboring buildings. The metal insides were twisting and buckling under the weight of itself, furniture cascading downwards as the concrete floors melted into slag. The only water battling the blaze was the fire brigade outside, the sprinkler system inside having been sabotaged just minutes before the cigarette was tossed into the paper archives.
A chopper circled above, eyeing the roof as the employees at ground level were accounted for and as far as anyone knew they all had made it out safely, save for one. The CEO of Vera Records was on the rooftop, waving his hands in desperation, a look of panic easily seen on his face. The long black hair whipped around his face as it fell from the messy bun, the white button down shirt with rolled up sleeves was untucked from the black slacks, the charcoal leather shoes scuffed, the red tie flapping wildly in the wind. Thus was the image broadcasting across every major news channel, Sebastian Vera was the lone soul trapped and impossible to rescue. There was nothing short of shock when the chopper did another fly-by and the man was nowhere to be seen.
"This is rather grandiose, even for you, sir," his assistant Theodore stated over the phone, "This will be subject to talk for months, if not years."
"Which is precisely my point," Sebastian quipped as he calmly returned to his office, flames licking up the walls as the paint started to peel, "I am taking a sabbatical, my portion of the insurance payout will be more than enough for the next hundred years or so. Would you please ensure all employees are taken care of with the rest of the money? Higher payouts for lower on the ladder and vice versa."
"Admirable as always, sir," Theodore commented, "And what of your estate?"
"Isn't this all in the will?" Sebastian asked as he took a seat at his simple table for a desk, flipping around to watch the San Francisco skyline one last time. It was becoming unbearably hot in the room, not that he minded, as smoke thickened the air and made his lungs sting with every breath. The death he was about to experience wasn't the worse one in his life, but it certainly had the most showmanship.
"It is, sir, I simply wish to verify," Theodore stated, a worried tone staining his words as the sound of Sebastian coughing started to come through, "Please be quick, sir."
"Estate to my assistant, Margie," he managed to wheeze, gasping between sentences, "Make sure her kids' college is taken care of. Good kids, deserve the world."
"Very good, sir," Theodore confirmed, already seeing to the preparations on his end, "If I may, sir, you have made quite the positive impact on thousands, this bodes well for your evaluation."
"See you soon."
What was left of Vera Records was nothing more than a prime example of a picked clean carcass. The smoking rubble was going to take months to clear out, every item and asset within insured and thus the payout was rather extreme, and there was only one casualty. Sebastian Vera. Every eyewitness support stated that the CEO had cleared out every room himself, from one floor to the next, wanting to personally ensure every single employee had made it out safely. None of them knew that he had lied about some people still inside so he could die alone.
The funeral was attended by hundreds in person and thousands online, the eulogy taking a solid half hour to praise the life he lived. The contracts of the artists under his label were paid handsomely, his employees treated with the utmost dignity, and any financial trouble Sebastian took on himself. More than one he went a year without a paycheck so that no one had to be laid off. The music world wept, fans and artists alike.
"We can only hope that more aspire to be such an honorable man like Mister Sebastian Vera," the pastor stated solemnly, "He will be mourned for decades to come."
Little did the world know that Sebastian had blood pumping through his veins, air in his lungs, his body unscathed as he watched his own televised funeral on his phone. The small RV was decked out for a long term life on the road, with no expense spared for comfort while the outside was beaten and rusted beyond repair. It kept all but the most desperate thieves from bothering him. The live stream was put on pause as a phone call came in.
"So, did I do it?" Sebastian asked, a glimmer of hope in his voice.
"Almost," the voice stated in an ancient language, "We have but one more cycle requirement with a stipulation."
"Which is?"
"Show us you can love. Then we will revisit your candidacy for Overlord of Terra."
