Zak nodded. Everything hit him at once and nothing seemed right within the group. He looked around at the wolves, not trusting any of them himself. They were sporadic, unpredictable and a little edgy with a human around. She didn't seem to notice that these were no regular wolves, which surprised him. He glanced at them all. They looked like beasts. He stared back up at Holly after his young pack-mates had trotted next to him. "Let's get out of here," he said, looking at the trail. He pointed through the trees. "We are about a thousand yards from the town. We can walk, or I could get you home in about five minutes," he suggested.

"The faster I get out of here the better." Holly replied, her voice hitched and barely above a whisper. She was just about holding herself together, one hand still clasped around Zak's wrist and the other on her corgi companion's fur. Glancing around, she noted how large they all were to how large she had thought they would have been. They seemed agitated by her presence but didn't seem to want to attack. There was definitely something odd about it all but her mind was too mixed up and muddled to figure out exactly what it was that she thought was wrong about them.

The iris' of Zak's eyes glowed yellow and black. He huffed in a deep breath of air that made his chest pop out. He pulled his hand away from her, almost snarling. He looked around at the other wolves, who were scattering around the clearing. He looked away from Holly, gasping for air, then feeling his body morph. The clothes he had on stretched as he morphed back into a werewolf. He looked very funny, but he was very uncomfortable. This doggy did not like having jeans on while he was a werewolf. He kicked them off and tore at his shirt.

Holly scrambled back, her eyes wide as he shifted and changed. She stumbled and tripped over herself in her haste to get away from whatever he was. The way his bones shifted and changed reminded her of something she had long since locked away. A repressed memory of something she had thought to have been a nightmare. Zak, whatever he was, was exactly the same as her captor many years ago and she no longer felt safe around him. She didn't know how to get out of the forest but she just had to get away from everything and then beg her parents to move away again.

All the wolves turned their heads at Zak as they started growling and snarling at them. He just growled back and walked forward towards Holly, hunkered down below her. He crawled forward, showing her that he was not dangerous. He whined and kept low in a submissive form. He was trying to get close so she could get on his back.
