You also forget the all important "What" you are fighting, as this is an RP with varied species that differ from humans in several regards. I honestly wouldn't expect a human to be capable of going up against a Lorenvolk of equal skill and come out alive, nor would I expect a Tarix-Na to go up against a human of equivalent skill and come out alive.

Depends on what you mean by "equal skill"
If a Tarix-na had the strength of a human, the same equipment, the same training, the same reason to fight, etc. and went into a duel on even ground and neutral weather, then i'd say the odds were 50-50.
In the same way, a human that was completely equal to a Lorenvolk in all but size, the human stands a fair chance.

I'm talking in terms of fighting skill, and using the average representative of the species in question. Also, I highly doubt there are many humans equal in strength to a Lorenvolk. In skill? Potentially, really depends on the Lorenvolk and human in question. Same thing with the Tarix-Na, they are inherently not as strong as humans on average, so one that would be compared to a human in such a way would not be representative of the whole.

To the contrary, if Lorenvolk are equally proportioned to humans, they would be certainly slower if not weaker. There is a reason elephants don't look like giant mice.

Not my species, so I'm not exactly the expert on them, but from our discussions on the matter, the Lorenvolk are not equally proportioned to humans in terms of muscle and bone density, allowing them to be stronger, yet retain agility. You would have to ask Raptor more, however, but I know for a fact that they are stronger than standard humans.

True, in general humans are weaker than Lorenvolk, but it makes no differance in terms of race - a creature who is as powerful as a Lorenvolk will be as hard to take down, regardless of whether it is human, elf, Tarix-na or otherwise. You could say some creatures are born with more skill naturally, but if someone can match that skill, it's fair game.

Henceforth why the comparison was made with the average representations in mind, not the exceptions.

Of course. I'm just getting at it from all angles. I understand that, on average, some creatures are not as good at fighting as others, but exceptions do exist.
I just don't want any "I win because my creature is stronger" malarky. You can be outdone by weake creatures.

I should also warn any slavers out there that it is harder to take someone alive. You need to control your attacks and fight carefully, as you don't want either creature to die.

Wasn't saying that at all. I was stating that you need to understand what it is you are fighting in order to determine who wins and why, but I really don't care much to go further into this discussion.

In the case of Robert Wadlow, tallest man ever, cartilage and circulation was at issue. As height increases, distance blood must travel increases twofold, thus Work done by the heart increases by twice the amount height increases.

That's a human, it's rather irrelevant considering we are talking about a non-human species with different bone-structure and muscle mass. Take it up with Raptor in PM, though, this is hardly the place to argue over what species can do what.

Breaking news: Biomechanics and physics work the same for tyrannosaurs, elephants, blue whales, humans and fantasy giants attempting to be realistic. By all means the OOC is the place so anyone else considering giants can know the practical ramifications.

Breaking news: It's not my species, therefore I don't know everything about it. Take it up with Raptor if you really have the desire to start an argument over something so trivial. I've told you what I know about them, in that they have differing muscle mass and bone densities, therefore they are stronger than humans and still as agile.

If I may point out, the reason taller humans have problems is because they aren't designed to be taller. My species, on the other hand, is supposed to be that tall. If they were the size of humans, they would suffer the same sort of problems that midgets do. Likewise, halflings are supposed to be smaller than humans, thus they don't suffer the problems that midgets do, but would suffer the problems of tall humans if they were proportionally taller.

The Lorenvolk are built to be big, their hearts are designed to pump blood 14 feet, their muscles have a differing density level, their bones are structured differently than humans to allow for them to support themselves. Also this was described as magic free fantasy, so in that sense it makes little sense to be attacking a person for having a race that is composed of what amounts to really very small giants considering the prevalence of giants in fantasy settings that are much larger than the Lorenvolk. They may look similar to humans scaled up but that is because I wished for them to do so, they really aren't the same as a scaled up human such is just an easy way to picture them.

You're like, literally neighbors with the Dominion, they may have attempted a sea-voyage to your nation at least once in the past, possibly more than that. As I've said before, the primary thing the Dominion is interested in is the culture of a nation, rather than material goods. Depending on how well said visitor is received, they may have sent more with gifts of carved wood or perhaps some of the less toxic flora from the Forest of :C

We are rather big on culture. It is something the Seculcians pride themselves on. Perhaps we could RP out one such visit?

I thank you for the rapid response. Dialogue is the most fruitful means of conversing :)

That the Lorenvolk are stronger given the sort of allometric scaling you are describing is indubitable. A six foot six man, this being for the purpose of determining Lorenvolk weight, has a normal weight of 195 pounds via the Hamwi formula. Double all his dimensions to make him 13 feet tall, his mass is multiplied by 8 as the cube root of length varies with mass proportionally. Therefore it weighs 1560 pounds. Something that huge, as big as the biggest polar bear, should be slow.

I have questions. How fast will time pass in this RP? Also, how will population growth be handled? Do we just add a certain percentage to the top? Will there be random events?
