No one in Iona's grasp needs to breathe to live. Emu is robutt. Shizuka is a spirit, doesn't really need to breathe. Bonesword is skelebone. I have interfered with no one in the Machina, and Iona is too stronk to get drugged by this gas.

I kind of abridged it, though if you've played Brutal Legend (Which I stole the hierarchy minions from), Warfathers are pretty goddamn durable. One bullet isn't really enough to kill them and they shrug off a lot of hits, and in the case of this guy, he was wounded enough to need to make himself a few imps to speed up the healing.
