Benji is known to be a fast learner and a smart guy, who some suspect has a few loose screws since the incident. Before the Project was launched and when he would meet with the other through behavioral tests, he rubbed off more shy and not talkative. But he has really changed over the two years, except for the fact that he is a klutz, that is something that will never changed. All in all, Benji is a nice guy with a free spirit and someone who let his dreams be a reality. His crewmates might be a bit anxious to be his patient when in medicine help since he has just finished all of his medical training and because most operations today are down through robotic machinery, they soon see that Benji was never wrong for pursuing his passion.


Appearance
Benji's anatomical proportions are a bit awkward, he is quite lanky with little body fat. But he is not so critical about having the small build of an adolescent boy, he's just happy he can keep himself as healthy as possible and advises people to do the same while they can. Though his face may be a pale one, Benji seems to maintain a joyful glow about him. Even when he is not caught with a grin on his face, his light green eyes have a shimmer and shine in them of his free spirited attitude. It's probably a good thing he was shipped inside of a tank before absorbing an ounce the end of what the world could have offered. His black hair is a bit messy and sometimes spikes itself up, but he'll try to trim it when the time comes, but prefers help when it comes to barbering. As for his facial hair, he tends to let the stubble grow, sometimes he thinks a beard might be nice.

Personality Description
Even after two solid years of inordinate isolation, Benji is chaotically carefree. Perhaps its the reason how he has been able to survive. He regards insults with a smile, and with slaps he turns the other cheek. If one could take the typical nice guy to an extreme extent, Benji would be the one to do it. You could make the bold statement of it being sheer impossible to infuriate the guy, but it be likely true, because Benji does not feel anger. Rather when irritated, he is upset and silent. Ask him what's wrong and he will respond with "Nothing... Everything's fine," with a smile he forces to make you feel better. Whenever met with a conflict, Benji always blames himself, even under the wrath of a bully he will point the figure at himself. You may already guess the drawbacks of his personality- Benji is a pure people-pleaser, you could say being alone for quite a long period of time has made it even worse. Though while making others happy, he will put himself at risk. For an example, he is willing to do absolutely anything for the crew even if it scares the daylights at out of him or if he is poorly skilled at the task. But Benji will ask you to teach him your craft anyways because he loves learning new things and because he loves to give a helping hand if you need it. And even if you do not need any sort of assistance, he will give you his company. Benji is quite clingy, he does not allow himself to be left alone and you can probably understand why.

There are some other interesting traits of Benji, such as he's a compulsive giver. Ask him for something and he will give it up. You could even try to take the clothes off his back and he will do it gladly. You might think that Benji is the type of guy you could take an advantage of, but he is cautious that the help he gives to people is for the greater good. But if you were to do something that typical makes you benefit from your own gain, possibly Benji will have to decline. However that does not mean he is not easy to manipulate. Since Benji believes in seeing the good in everyone, if you were to convince him that what you are doing is morally righteous then he will fall into your trap. Benji has a child-like innocence about him. For a man who has seen the insides of the human body, he is quite naïve when comes to looking through people's personalities. In the end he could get himself into a lot of unnecessary trouble for being too trusting of everyone.

Another strange think about Benji, especially for a doctor, he is incredible clumsy when it comes to everything but his operations. It seems when he is tending to a patient, however he retains a type of supernatural focus and concentration that he does not normally experience on his own. Maybe its a subconscious matter that allows him to calm down when someone else life is at stake. It might make some a bit nervous to discover the klutz is doctor, but most people don't trust doctors anyways since the rise of medical machines.

  • Put Pocketing- Benji makes everyone feel like its their birthday most days, sometimes he will sneak extra cash into people's pockets when he can, he just can not imagine himself being wealthy, and kind of shivers at the idea. If it is not putting things into people's pockets, then he will be sure to present some other form of gift as a surprise.
  • Terrible Liar- Some people are cunning, deceitful, but Benji- no. The second he utters even the most innocent of lies, he sweats and sweats profusely. He just has that strong of self-convictions that dishonesty is just out of question for him.

Secret(s)
  • The Ship's Little Mouse- Benji has the entire map of the Artemis anchored down in his memory, so much so that he can travel through the ship's vents without getting lost. He has a little hideout up there where he will sleep since he has a fear of cryo-tanks now since his shutting down and leaving him alone for two years. And although Cryonautics had the ship designed with extra bedrooms just in case of an accident within the tanks, Benji has grown accustom to it be just so cozy up when camping as he was scaling the whole ventilation system, that even normal beds won't do it. He does not want to tell the rest because that will give them more of a reason to believe that he has more loose screws, and besides they might think he is spying on them through the vents, since he can access any one of their bedrooms when doors are locked. But Benji enjoys to drop down little gifts through the vents whenever he can.


History
The practice of doctor now seems almost foreign, well, that is if that doctor has just as a heart beat as his patient. Yes, as said before, doctors have been replaced by machines. And although it is not illegal to be trained in medicine, it is quite very much taboo. Where it can take a man at average of 14 years to become a physician, robots seem to perfect the occupation simply by programming. Those who still partake in studies of medicine, most likely are not going to be doctors themselves, but programmers for future curative bots.

When did Benji decide he wanted to be a doctor? You could say it was always in his nature to hold concern for each and every individual even at a child's age. But precisely, it was in his preteens when Benji realized his fascination in superheroes, villains, and powers were nothing more than modern mythology, yet that same superhero story takes the stage in modern medicine. There's always a battle between a body, whether it be crippling cancers, wounded disease, or shattered bones. Magic happens in medicine, we call it chemistry, but Benji sees it as his superpowers, and every day there is someone new to rescue. It's a cute thought, and he has stuck with it since the age of eleven. But since graduated and finished with his medical trading, it had been rough for him to get a job as a doctor. He could go on to learn programming, yet his passion is in people-- patients, not metal machine. So because of the unemployment , he resorted to writing, he never published a book but it would have been likely that he would have if he never applied to Cryonautics.

He was knew the world was shattered and broken beyond repair. Benji is a doctor and he believed the only way to save the Earth, was through Cryonautics's plan to preserve humanity through a post apocalyptic setting in order to first lock in what could be the last of mankind and to stabilized those with bearing knowledge of history and the past life if it were to ever be erased. But the project did not go according to plan, they did not grant such way. Benji wants to believe the shutting down of his cryo-tank was accidental, but it's funny how it almost seems like Cryonautics planned the accidents. And accidents that are planned are no longer accidents, but the ship does not seem to be just one to simply store cyro-tanks, it looks to be a place to live. But perhaps they were prepared for any mishaps, because if they really are going to be the last of humanity, then you'd be smart to listen to Murphy's law...

In a nutshell, Tahlia has a reputation for being level-headed, quiet, calm, and even somewhat icy. She often comes off as being cold and calculating, not letting her emotions show through and always putting thought into what she does. Despite her somewhat withdrawn attitude, she always tries to be the best that she can in everything that she does. Of course, that isn't so important anymore, seeing as how she'll only ever see 5 other people in her life again. She still works and tries hard, but not as much as she once did. She is also very honest, sometimes too honest, and she'll sometimes say something that someone else may find off-putting. She tries to keep a lid on those sorts of things, but every now and then something slips out. She also has a sometimes annoying habit of trying to learn everything about everything about everyone. Personality Description
Tahlia is the type of person who is very cautious and deliberate about everything she does. This is complimented by her analytical and scientific thought process, often leading her decision-making to be strongly based upon logic and reason. She can be indecisive at times, however, and she can seem as though she's wasting time when she's trying to figure out how to proceed with something. The only exception to this is when she's flying, in which case her feelings tend to take over somewhat. She still maintains her best judgment, but her actions become guided more by feeling than deliberate thought.

Tahlia tends to keep to herself, opting to observe people from the sidelines and gauge their behavior. She's not very trusting, and likes to have an idea of how a person is before she talks to them. She can be harshly judgmental about people before even talking to them for herself, having a tendency to believe her instincts when she gets a bad feeling about someone. She believes a lot of her own preconceptions, leading her to a slight sense of self-righteousness in many cases. She's smart, and confident, and the two working together make her seem pretentious on occasion, though she never tries to act like she knows something if she doesn't think she has 100% clarification on it, and she knows when she's been proven wrong.

Once you get to know her, though, Tahlia is actually a very trustworthy and caring person with a strong sense of honor and respect. She tries her best to respect others' opinions, even if she doesn't agree with them, and she's good about giving credit where it's due. History
Tahlia was born in Japan to Michael and Persephone Spade. Her father was in the US Air Force while her mother was mostly a stay at home mom, though she often found things to do to earn a little extra income. Her father got stationed in England and then in Colorado before getting stationed in Israel when Tahlia was seven. This would be the place Tahlia would call home for nearly 10 years.

Her father being a sergeant by that point, they lived off base while in Israel. It was the first time Tahlia went to a public school, and even though she went to an English speaking school it was still a big change for her. She took it in stride though and made several friends in a relatively short timespan. The fact that she was American helped with that in some regard, but it didn't change anything. She also did very well in school itself, and took a liking to science in particular. Going into high school, she set herself on becoming a physics major once she got into college. She excelled in all of her science classes, and was well on her way to graduating in the top 3%. And then everything went to hell.

When Tahlia was in her Junior year, terrorist attacks in Israel spiked. One of Tahlia's close friends was killed in one such attack, and Tahlia herself nearly lost her own life in another. After that happened, her father told Tahlia and Persephone that they were getting on the next plane back to the US and they had 6 hours to pack. Tahlia was bitter, though. She wanted to make the terrorists pay for what they did. As soon as they got to the states and settled in, Tahlia redirected her efforts to training for the Army. Her father's death some weeks later motivated her to train even harder. She enlisted as soon as she turned 18.

Tahlia far outperformed everyone in basic training in every way. She was the best recruit in her company, getting perfect scores in physical training, marksmanship, and the end of course test. She performed just as well in infantry school, and went on to her first deployment expecting to begin taking her vengeance. She didn't expect that she would be waiting for a while. On all of her deployments, including her last deployment which she voluntarily extended three times, she never once saw combat, either because of commanders who didn't want to see a woman die in battle, or because of crazy stupid luck.

She finally got tired of it and left the Army after three years, though she wasn't entirely sure what to do afterwards. She pretty much started floating around trying to find a stable job for a while. She eventually ended up trying to take flying lessons on a whim, and found it to be one of the most enjoyable things she had done. She used her GI bill to pay for her pilot's license and ended up becoming a bush pilot for a few years. That is, until things REALLY went to hell.

Once the world pretty much began ending, Tahlia took it upon herself to use her flying skills to help evacuate people from places that were in particular danger. Flying became like a calling to her, and she began to test her skills by landing and taking off from extremely short airstrips. She would do over 200 flights and save roughly three times that number of people when she heard about Cryonautics. Skeptical as she was, she decided to apply for the program. Imagine her surprise when she was actually selected. She was as interested as she was apprehensive. She would be one of only six people left alive after the Earth has gone. She almost wondered if it would be worth living with six complete strangers throughout who knows how long of a process. Still though, it was a chance at saving the human race. Who could turn that down?

Echo is often mistaken to be incredibly knowledgeable and pretty much an expert at every form of engineering, craftsmanship, and science. She was dubbed the “darling of the project.” This is a bloated evaluation. The administration used her tenacity and resourcefulness to raise awareness in the public’s eye almost like an advertisement.

Because of the rigorous program, she is in good physical shape... This was not always the case. She holds her chin-up and proud as an icon to the world. This is only a front, but has become habit. She is clean cut, professional looking, and well kept. Rarely is there any form of blemish even when she has been doing dirty-work. There is a dignified and noble (almost aristocratic) edge to her.

History
Always the best. Echo was expected, always, to learn to speak and walk and be potty trained as soon as her parents deemed would be appropriate. Likewise, she was to always earn an A, and be capable of anything that could make anyone envious. She met their expectations.

All through schooling, she was an introvert. This was exaggerated by all of her siblings being extremely popular and social. Year after year rolled through, and year after year she found herself alone and alienated from her family. They were all the smart, funny, popular, and successful ones. She was just the normal one that her parents wished she was like the others. Graduation was particularly temperamental when her eldest brother had graduated with honors from law school and was on the fast track to becoming a senator.

Her higher education (which was not an option to avoid college) was riddled with mediocre marks as she was not really all to interested in any specific subject. She bore the full brunt of her family and extended family on one thanksgiving day that she was to “stop being lazy and to make something of herself.” That is when she decided... that is when she made the decision to die. She was insufficient for this life and the depressed death of a coward was only fitting. No, she wanted to slip away with everyone cheering. Project Renaissance was that avenue.
She had read the expose on the project and who they were looking for. War heroes, and geniuses, doctors and philosophers, the physically gifted and those with bright futures, the leaders and the teachers. These were all splayed out with pride as the best of the best and those that had earned the privilege of holding the hopes of the human race on their shoulders. No, more like the human race had strived and finally succeeded in creating these gods. Something so obvious and simple stood out to her, something that the staggering IQ’s of the project could not see in their constant search in the details. None of their poster children could do one very simple thing... live. They spoke of staggering volumes of supplies, armies of robots, and technologies yet to be invented in order to provide three meals a day, and water to bathe in. It was a flaw, but she was no expert on homesteading.

Then came the “if”s. If they were frozen correctly, if the system functions without error, if they are woken properly, if, if, if. When she looked into it, this was a very risky parlor trick. Every competitor of Cryonautics agreed, this was a very expensive and fancy way to execute 6 people and not even know that they did it for at least 100 years. That is why all of the celebrities in Cryonautics’ theoretical line up were all second best. They could not afford to lose the actual movers and shakers. It was a suicide mission. And so she had her means of execution.
She taught herself everything useful before she even had applied, her family was skeptical. When she made it into the pool of possible candidates, their interest was piqued. When the administration let her name slip as “The darling of the program” they were surprised. And when the press releases hit the public, and she was the poster child, wearing her uniform and the country’s flag with pride, they had become fans hook, line, and sinker. And when that final administration of the anesthetic rolled over her and blackness swallowed her... she sighed a sigh of relief. “It is finally over...”

Ailbeart is not a man to be taken lightly. He has rarely performed an action or conversed with someone without having some ulterior motive. His mind never strays from his long-term goals, and he is commonly blunt when interacted with. If you are not serving a purpose to his benefit in some way, then he will remove you from his vicinity, if he can. He is respected by his few equals as an intellectual and a manipulator, and those who find themselves within his jurisdiction will either fear him or have been enticed by a promise in his words or an item in his hand.


Appearance
Ailbeart is not a physically imposing person - it is instead his intense personality and past actions that compose his threatening outlook. He has, in fact, an average anatomy. He is not noticeably tall, nor fat or thin, muscled or frail, by definition. His legs and torso are recognised with acceptable proportions. He bears no apparent birthmarks, blemishes or markings - though cosmetic tampering is likely to have occurred at some point, for the man had possessed a small birthmark on his forehead throughout his childhood that is no longer visible, and had never existed, according to Ailbeart. His head hair, grey - following several decades of a solid brown colour - and receding, contrasts with a thick and full beard, and a pair of prominent, down-turned eyebrows. His eyes are somewhat striking, vivid sky-blue, those that never look away first. He has a pert, aquiline nose and a small, reserved mouth. He has deep, hollow cheeks, sunken with age and solemnity. His ears are large, and becoming more so as his hair vanishes, to Ailbeart's chagrin. For an undisclosed reason he has worn a form of eye-patch covering his left eye for the past fifteen years.

Personality Description
From an early age, Ailbeart Rend was a determined man. He usually got what he wanted, as soon as it was possible for him to get it. He was able through various means to overcome most obstacles, whereby using cunning, manipulation or available resources, and achieve each ultimate goal - from getting a toy he wanted as a child to getting a certain woman to sleep with him as a young adult. As he aged, however, Ailbeart found that the first strategy, that of cunning, was the most reliable and effective means of achievement. He devoted a great portion of his life to becoming intelligent, both in the way of knowledge and quick-thinking. Through great efforts - collecting and poring over a veritable library, with texts covering such topics as history, language, business and science, he become competent enough to cope in most unforeseen situations. Despite this advantage, Ailbeart is not ambitious or greedy to the point of foolishness. He is a logical man, who doesn't take risks that he perceives might have consequences, and analyses situations based on the facts and past evidence that he is aware of. Another trait of his is in the realm of composure, as he is always able to remain calm, even in the face of overwhelming odds and challenging circumstances. That, combined with formidable analytical talents, allow him to perform various feats - such as to study a person quickly and attempt to derive their motives or feelings, or to be able to identify unexpected changes in a situation and adapt to deal with them. As such, he is often able to rapidly become superior in a conversation or occasionally a fight, and as a result take on a commanding personality, where others would fall behind or shirk the responsibility. He is able to guide a circumstance to a point completely under his control or at least to an acceptable standard.

With these aspects of Ailbeart Rend in mind, one might compare him to that of a robot - constantly analysing what is in front of him, and trying to gain the upper hand with not a single considerate thought to what another person might be thinking or feeling. These observations are accurate, and reveal thus: Ailbeart is unapologetically unempathetic, and inadvertently suspicious. He, for the most part, is unable to connect emotionally to objects and people, whether intentionally or not. He doesn't have pleasant relationships, and his lovers are only that for one night or two. He comes across as patronising, to both new faces and old, and he truly does believe that he knows more and is worth more than most people. Furthermore, if someone were to displease or annoy him, to act in any way at all outside of his wishes, then he would be hostile to them for an overlong period of time. Some find difficulty with even abiding by his standards, for his final fault is that he is laconic - never speaking for long. He might state an opinion or give a command, but he will only do it once, because he expects people to be listening with intent. These negative traits would reveal themselves as byproducts of both nurture and nature, if one were to delve into Ailbeart's past. He had difficult relationships with his family, and often contested encounters with his parents - who eventually abandoned their child emotionally, still leaving him with a notable fortune but without people to teach him how to use it morally and for the good of the many rather than just the good of the few. Aside from that, Ailbeart was known to refuse to change his ways even at a very early age, displaying his later tendency for being stubborn, for nothing more than the sake of it. He had a hand in pushing himself to becoming so emotionally distant and universally disliked. Ailbeart had been presented with offers of camaraderie throughout his childhood, yet his personality was destined to avoid that practically as soon as he developed one.

In the main, Ailbeart Rend is not a man whom one talks casually with. He is a man born into social superiority, who fell into isolation and a burgeoning self-worth as a child. He is a man possessing determination strong enough to maintain his level of intelligence and commanding qualities through several decades, a man who was always going to reach his potential despite what others thought. He is a man who treats people as tools, who studies them with a disrespectful, analytical eye for the sole reason of displaying his superiority over them as soon as possible. And while he possesses qualities of leadership, they are qualities of a harsh, autocratic leader, whom is able to dictate commands but who will refuse to consider even a word in the manner of suggestion from those he has responsibility over.

History
Ailbeart William Rend was born in Livingston, Scotland on the 5th of August, 1979. His first name was Scottish Gaelic for the name 'Albert', picked by Ailbeart's mother due to its meaning of 'nobility'. The Rend family was not part of any monarchy and did not possess great political influence, yet they saw themselves as a kind of nobility in their manner and in their own household. The self-worth that Ailbeart so brashly displayed in his life was not original - for his parents were just the same in that way. To further effect, and confusion, the boy was given the middle name 'William', specifically after William the Lion, a 12th Century Scottish King. Ailbeart's father had been inspired by William's perseverance in reclaiming the land of Northumberland from the Angevin Kings of England, and in this at least Ailbeart showed some similarities. Soon into the boy's life, however, his parents' pride faltered in extending to include their son. They were not the most caring of people, and Ailbeart proved to be a difficult child, for he would rarely cry, or laugh, or make any action at all. Instead he would sit and watch quietly, as much as a young child can, for he still spoke and moved and wailed on occasion. Still, it appeared that this inaction and overall strangeness was enough for Ailbeart's parents to love him less, and to abstain from parading their child around, because he lacked the cuteness and energy that would have made his parents proud. The Rend couple thus made excuses for themselves: the child had a secure upbringing guaranteed, as the father was a nuclear engineer - a rich man indeed who had found his fortune in innovations in safety. Ailbeart would surely want for nothing, and they had household attendants who could easily fill the role of mother and father to the child. Moreover, the mother was a social presence, responsible for turning the rich couple into aristocratic figures. Outlook was very important to them, and they possessed something of a natural snobbery that would later appear within Ailbeart. Thus they had settled into this kind of lifestyle, hosting events and donating to charities but not really doing much else, and definitely not things that required unnecessary amounts of effort. They were simply unfit to raise a child properly, so they provided resources and then distanced themselves, as much as they could when living in the same house, from the child.

Ailbeart grew up alone, with no siblings and only a relationship with his upbringers as much as them keeping him alive and healthy. The child was irrevocably effected by that lack of an emotional presence in his life. In fact, the most emotion he saw in his childhood was in the words of books he would often turn to for entertainment and to pass the time. His early devotion to knowledge and intelligence was indeed early, at nine years old, after his provided private school education proved insufficient for the budding boy. His personality developed much as his intellect did - logically, even mechanically. He had few friends and little social contact, and this hardened him and effectively closed the doors forever to his emotional side, if there even was one. Money always remained no concern, yet the adage proved itself personally for Ailbeart when he discovered that money simply didn't buy you happiness. It only bought more opulent clothing and furniture, more delicious food and more exotic drinks. However, over time, this became enough for him.

In his early twenties, Ailbeart settled into his personality once and for all. His knowledge was vast, and already he was developing business ventures. Sexual desires were a minor inhibition to the man's work, though once he had discovered the possibility of dominance in the bedroom, he did pursue women to some extent, and the outcome always brought him some pleasure. Otherwise, minor things did not please Ailbeart. He only found solace in achieving immense goals, and expanding his own business projects to include more people under his control. Obstacles were somewhat welcome in the face of achieving these goals, so long as they proved surmountable. Ailbeart was very much interested in expanding his own capabilities and never having them devolve. These years in business refined and tested him repeatedly, in several different fields. Each venture followed the same formula - Ailbeart would come up with an idea, acquire the start-up capital, hire employees and manage the business until it was successful. Yet, instead of furthering each venture into becoming huge successes, he would abandon the project or delegate leadership to some of his employees in favour of starting a new venture with new challenges. Ailbeart's funds were growing, and the fortune left by his parents was certainly not depleted, so there was never any danger of bankruptcy or even struggle. The more projects that Rend created, the more people who worked under him, and the more the man's reputation grew among business owners in the country, and eventually multi-nationally. He grew to be a global success, and a famous figure renowned for his effective leadership but harsh human relations. His employees in any instance were little more than expendable tools, and he was known to fire people if they so much as spent too long eating lunch. Ailbeart had achieved every goal he had created for himself, and was content with simply continuing with his formula, but the world was changing in disturbing ways. Technology was becoming more integrated with society and people's lives - and so too in the workplace were people disappearing to be replaced by machines. People could easily use technology to find all the knowledge in seconds that Ailbeart had devoted his entire childhood to learning. Businessmen were finding it easier to progress, finding less barriers to oppose their projects, and eventually reaching a point when they could call Rend their equal. The world was changing, and for Ailbeart, for this man so rooted in the past, in tradition - the change was unbearable.

As global conflict burgeoned like a festering tumour, and humanity suffered between a decreasing quality of life and a pitiful reliance on technology, Ailbeart desperately sought a way out - a way to restore the circumstances, the opportunities and the challenges that he had grown up observing. It was then that he discovered Project Renascence, a miracle in the works that promised everything he desired. Yet, it was their selection, of just six people in a world of billions, that proved the final obstacle to Ailbeart's ultimate goal - survival. They would never consider Rend - he was too old, and not nearly virile enough. Yet, Ailbeart knew he was worthy for the task. He had an unrivalled intellect, decades of experience leading people, and he had achieved goals most could only dream of. There was no question about it, he was going to be a part of Project Renascence, no matter what. He accosted the Cryonautics company with the intensity of a storm, bribing whomever he needed to and having his hired muscle literally drag the security out of his path. The few cryotanks were not scheduled to be filled for a short amount of time, but Ailbeart would not be stopped. His goal was within reach, so he would not wait to achieve it. He finally reached his destination in the bowls of the facility, holding a head scientist at gunpoint until the preparation was ready. Rend took care of the last precautions within seconds, bestowing the rest of his fortune on this scientist who he had thought susceptible - for perhaps he thought the world was salvageable, and Rend knew that in the end, any man could be bought. Then, upon swallowing the pill required before entering the cryotank, Ailbeart shot his three hired muscle in the head, and ensured this scientist would allow no man to disrupt his cryotank - whether by lying, bribing others or resorting to a spare gun that Rend left with him. The gun that he had on hand, he took with him into the cryotank.

As the pill stilled his heartbeat and cleared his racing mind, Ailbeart thought of the future, and for the first time in a long time, he was genuinely happy.

Secret(s)
Right after graduating from the USA Institute of Technology, Yazmin was kidnapped and forced to aid an anti-government hacker group called Riptide. While with them, Yaz was partially responsible for a city-wide blackout and many other minor attacks caused by the group. Being labeled a fugitive and a Cyber Terrorist, she has a government rap-sheet that includes several cybercrimes.


History
Yazmin grew up in the United States, the daughter of two teachers. Her father and five brothers were all big and strong athletes, the shortest male in her family being six-foot-two. She and her mother on the other hand, were both small, though her mother was a few inches taller. Because of her size difference with her brothers, she didn't join in on their outdoor recreation unless it required minimal effort.

Despite her not having much in common with her brothers, any of them would gladly beat the living crap out of anyone that laid a hand on her (and they could easily do it, too). The phrase "circle the wagons" applied all-too-well to the family, and Yazmin learned from them how important relationships and trust were.

Growing up, Yaz had a superb mind for technology and computers. This grew from a hobby to an actual, marketable skill that landed her a full-ride scholarship to the USA Technological Institute, the best IT school in the country, at the age of 16. She completed the full required course within 2 years, and went to live with her brother while she prepared for a job with a computer-engineering company. While she was with her brother in New York, she was kidnapped by a group called Riptide, an anti-American-government group that forced her to hack into dozens of banks, public systems, and other things that caused general chaos, or else they would kill her brother and his wife.

Almost two years after her kidnapping, a Riptide safehouse was raided by Special Forces. During the firefight, an explosion sent shrapnel into her arm, severing the nerves and destroying the limb. When her name was cleared and almost all charges dropped, the government paid for her bionic limb replacement and offered her a spot on a team that was programming drones to help detect where the apocalyptic storms of recent would appear.

When Yazmin heard about the Cryonauts, she saw that they were looking for people with skills. She applied for the position in the project. Being one of the best hackers and programmers in the world, she was accept, but not without anxieties and fears. She ultimately decided it was worth helping mankind to leave her family behind, so she accepted the position and joined.

Before everyone was turned into a human ice cube, Owen more or less took on the role of a moderator during the behavioral tests and effectively led their discussions. He made sure everyone was included and heard from, even that mousy doctor, and shut his trap until it was his turn to talk—although there were more than one occassion of him interrupting somebody to crack wise. Still, all in all he seemed like a rather open and approachable person and, considering he’s the one everyone would talk to once they realized how messed up it was that they were now the only humans on the Earth, that’s a pretty good thing. However, now that they’re all thawed out, it’d be more apparent to the others that Owen taking the initiative is not uncommon. His voice is almost always the first heard when it’s time to make a decision, and it’s clear that, even if he doesn’t get his way, he’d like it to be the last one heard as well. It’s also more apparent that he’s easily upset and tends to hold grudges over petty things for much longer than most people.

Owen is a tall man with an otherwise average build of undefined muscles and slight smidgen of pudge around the middle. He’s unathletic, but not necessarily unhealthy. Although not having an Adonis-like physique, Owen does go out of his way to make himself appear neat. He has cleaned and trimmed nails, a neatly groomed mustache, and a cleanly shaved head. His teeth are white and straight thanks to who knows how much money and some very rough years in middle school. He wears a thick pair of glasses over his brown eyes, largely because the thought of touching or shooting anything into his eyes really freaks him out.

Personality Description
Owen is not a shy man. He likes making friends and goes out of his way to make sure that everyone feels comfortable. When he was younger he’d never shut up, and can still be somewhat chatty when the mood hits, but as he’s matured he’s taken on more of the role of an active listener. He likes learning about people, likes to hear them vent, and likes to try and help them through their problems. He tends to put himself in the shoes of others, and isn’t afraid of showing emotion or shedding tears. Over anything else, Owen is honest. Lying makes him feel extremely guilty; he’s one of those people who asks for forgiveness over trying to cover up or pass off his mistakes onto somebody else.

He’s a bit of a perfectionist in a way. Owen likes things to be organized and can notice almost instantly when something is off or somebody is upset. His desire to make sure that things are pristine made him into somebody who takes initiative. Part of this is because he dislikes the awkward moments where something has to be done and everybody is looking around at each other in silence; part of it is because he just likes being heard. Still, he tries hard to do a good job and to set a positive example for others. He also expects the best from people and can be tough on those he thinks are dragging their weight or not contributing. And, since he’s honest, he’ll be blunt and let them know what he thinks about them.

While Owen isn’t a constant prankster, he tends to try and make light of things instead of always being off-putting and severe. Sometimes this can go too far and he can seem a little dismissive about things, not to mention he has a bad habit of using sarcasm whenever he’s slightly bothered by a situation. His biting comments tend to pick up drastically whenever somebody directly wrongs him in some way, and usually carry on for an excessive amount of time. History
Raised Catholic, Owen was the middle child out of five kids and only boy his parents had. This meant an early youth of torturously boring Sunday services and being terrorized by his sisters that forced him to play with dolls and to dress up (years later he’d get back at them by embarrassing them in front of their boyfriends). Coming from such a large family, it was easy to get overlooked as a kid. However, instead of becoming sullen, Owen became rambunctious. He was one of those kids who was always talking, always moving, constantly yelling, and always demanding, “look at me, look at me.” This attitude spread from the household to school and church, where his energy earned him plenty of friends and the temple-rubbing frustration and scorn of his teachers.

Aside from being a constant distraction in class, Owen wasn’t a horrible student. He wasn’t a great student, either. He mellowed out a bit when puberty kicked in, largely because the idea of having people look at him when he was an awkward mess of long limbs, acne, bad hair, and voice cracks was a horrifying one. Despite this, he was still able to get a girlfriend during his freshman year of high school. They were that one couple that were always together holding hands in the hallway or kissing at their lockers and generally annoying all of their single friends with their gross baby talk. They dated all throughout high school, and decided to go to college together. Owen didn’t know what he wanted to do when he grew up. She wanted to become a psychologist and then a psychiatrist. So, he took her classes.

They managed a whole semester of sticking together before mutually realizing that they were no longer into each other. It was a clean break, actually, and Owen was pleasantly surprised how intriguing he found psychology to be so he kept up with it. Four years, three girlfriends, and an uncountable number of beers later he graduated with his degree. He had really enjoyed his years at college, and decided to make the move to med school to finish becoming a psychiatrist. Due to advances in technology, the course plan had been truncated, but it still took Owen four more years to finish up his training and to find an internship at a psych ward that didn’t even come close to helping him with his student debt. It seemed that despite the whole world going crazy the demand for psychiatrists had gone down, assuming it had ever been there in the first place.

Owen didn’t like the environment for the psych ward, although it wasn’t a horrible place. It was clean, the doctors and orderlies were polite and caring, and the patients were generally only there for a few months at most. Nothing like the kind he saw on TV, where all the rooms were padded and inhumane experiments were being conducted on otherwise sane individuals. It just wasn’t what he had wanted. He had been hoping for an office, with a bunch of books he had pretended to read on the wall, and a large mahogany desk, with a big arching window of the city behind it, and a comfortable couch and a chaise lounge. He and somebody would shoot the breeze for a few hours over ten sessions and then the person would say that they were feeling better, pay him, and leave happy.

He never got the office, but he did get hired on by the ward he was interning for which meant less observing and more interacting with patients. It wasn’t ideal, but he still found that he liked talking and, more importantly, listening to them. However, for everyone that he felt like he had done a good job helping through a stressful time, there was another that would act as if everything was fine and then end up back there several months later, claiming the same problems as before. Still, he kept at it, hoping he would find someway to make a breakthrough.

A breakthrough was made. Not for his patients, but for him. One of Owen’s old friends from school, Andrew, called him about Project Renascence and told him that they were looking for somebody to do some therapy work for the survivors. He was weirded out by the whole idea, but decided passing up an opportunity like this if there was an ounce of truth in it was a horrible idea. Besides, there was still that little kid inside of him that wanted to stand out and get the spotlight: no better way than being one of the six tasked with restarting humanity after the end. Taking a vacation from his job, Owen accepted his friend’s invitation. Several interviews and tests later, Owen was given a pill, a paper cup, and a handshake.

And then everything was gone.
