Note: Because this is an interest check, everything here is subject to change. I haven't really proofread this yet, but I will do so in the coming days. I'm just a really impatient person and wanted to see if people were interested... NOW! xD

Immortal Realms

Set in a universe forged collectively by its Gods, Immortal Realm is an adventure about eight mortals who find themselves trapped in the realms beyond the dead, where no living should ever stand. The mortal realm is filled with religious zealots who believe that their God will offer them redemption upon their death, and scorns upon those who do not worship them. It is indeed true that upon death, their soul will be transferred to the God whom they worshiped, and their fate will forever be locked to their realm. A man who worships the God of Death, for example, will end up in the Realm of Death. Our mere mortals, who each worship one of the eight gods, will find themselves stuck within these realms before their time. Then, they will now have to fight for not just the lives, but also their very existence as the Gods actively seek to destroy them. It is said that no mortal can ever enter the immortal realms for else the imprisoned will soon escape. It remains a mystery whom the imprisoned is, but this forebodes danger for the universe itself…

Welcome to the Role-Play!

In this role-play, I am hoping to get at eight people (including me), but no more than that. I am willing to compromise if this is not possible, which I believe likely to be the case. Each of us will take the role of a religious zealot from one of the eight religions. Once a religion has been taken, you will have to use another. Hence, I want eight people :D -The GM will be myself, which means I can choose to reject characters, or make small changes to people’s post for the stake of consistency. Usually though, I’ll try and leave them be. I have purposefully set this RP in a world that has not yet been fully developed to allow for creativity on all ends. For example, I’ve only developed one city in the mortal realm, which is the location of my character’s upbringing. I can introduce more locations as needed, as can the others who are roleplaying. If you want your character to be a wealthy merchant from a desert city with fountains that flow with water, then go ahead. Do you want your character to be an explorer of ancient, forgotten ruins filled with secrets? That’s allowed too. Almost anything is possible unless it goes against one of my few rules.

Rules
1. Your character must be from one of the eight religions.
2. Only one role-player per religion
3. Keep it PG 13+!
4. Everything you create is canon, so long as it does not contradict with content already posted. If it does, I am obliged to change it unless it is nothing important.
5. Our characters are either humans, or they resemble humans. Regardless, everyone has a human life form. (If you are an elf, you don’t live for a thousand years.) (None of us are Orcs- but we could be Human, Drawf, Elf, Halflings etc- for they are pretty much human)
6. You may god-play other people’s characters (control them in your post), but the owner of that characters has every right to reject it. If he chooses to reject it, the post will be ignored unless the appropriate change has been made.
7. If you cannot post for a while, or you wish to leave the role-play please let me know in advance. If its simply a temporarily absence, we can organize for something to separate your party from the main group. If you are leaving the role-play altogether, we can either find a way to finish his story or even kill him off.

The Religions/Classes
Each religion is like a class in their own right. The religion is named after its God. It is easy to identify which religion another is a part of and very difficult to hide. (By the way, I’m taking Obitsum)
Note: In each religion, assume women are equal to men unless otherwise specified)

Obitsum (Obi-tea-zum): Those who worship the God of Death, Obitsu (Obi-Tea-Zu). The members of this religion are fanatical assassins, and are devious and cunning, relying on trickery and so can never be trusted. Once another has been target, then they are doomed, for an Obitsu will stalk their prey in the shadows as just another face in the crowd, and then strike when the moment is opportune. They will do it in plain sight, so that all can witness their deed, but then disappear back again into the crowd, leaving traps in their wake should anyone pursue them. They are silent; they are deadly and devoutly sincere. To them, life is just a journey to death, and so they do not fear but in fact, welcome it. When killing, they believe they are merely helping the body’s soul find its way into the next world. In this religion, men and women are equal.
Religion’s Class: Assassin

Bellatism (Bell-ate-tism): Those who worship the God of Battle and War, Bellator (Bell-ate-tor). The members of this religion believe themselves to be honourable and virtuous. They are skilled warriors, living only for the excitement of battle in servitude to their God. They will never back away from a battle, even if it should mean their death, or else they will be labelled a coward. For a man who cannot fight is hardly a man at all, and will be excommunicated if he is revealed to be a coward. They pride honour above all things, even their own life, so they will never attack an opponent unaware for to them, that is unfair. The females of this religion are well… your typical 50’s housewife.
Religion’s Class: Fighter

Herbasin (Her-baa-sin): Those who worship the Goddess of Plants, Herba. The members of this religion believe that plant life is superior to animal life (including themselves) and therefore must be preserved and worshipped above all things. They are purely carnivores and cannibals. Generally, they are hunters of other species, but if no food can be found they will not hesitate to eat each other. They are barbaric and primitive. Their warriors are axe-wielding and have speed that enables them to chase down cheetahs. They are highly feared warriors. Bellators believe that they are the most dangerous of all mankind, for they completely lack honour and regard for animal (humans are animals) life. Men and Women are equal in this religion. (Women, are perhaps, a little superior)
Religion’s Class: Barbarians

Beastism (Beast-tism): Those who worship the Goddess of Animals, Beastia. The members of this religion believe that all animal life-forms are equal and so, unlike other people, do not believe that humans are superior. In fact, they reject social customs, embracing their truly animalistic instincts and desires. They do not wear clothes and they do not believe in love. They live among animals, respecting all animal life. They are purely vegetarians. In contrast to Herbasin, they are far more sympathetic and respectful. They are simply animals as well. They fight without weapon, and have claws and teeth that are sharp like a tiger’s. They also have the ability to control animals.
Religion’s Class: They fight like an animal (you can choose from any animal you wish your character to mimic). They also can control animals.

Tempism: Those who worship the God of Time, Tempus. The members of this religion believe that life itself is unimportant in the grace of time. For it is time, they say, that creates us and it is time that ultimately brings about our end. No living thing can stop the flow of time, so instead of fighting it, why not embrace it and join the master of time himself? Members of this religion tend to be devious and cunning, much like those who worship Obitstu. There isn’t much culture involved with this religion, only their devout worship. Members of this religion develop telepathic abilities, in which they can send messages into the minds of others, and read their thoughts. Furtheremore, they can manipulate their thoughts and they can distort their sense of time. The more powerful among them, are considered to be able to manipulate time itself. Of course, this isn’t true, what they are actually doing is manipulating everyone else’s sense of time.
Class: Time Wizard

Scientism (Shen-tism): Those who worship the Goddess of Knowledge, Scientia (Shen-tia). The members of this religion believe in the philosophy of mind over matter. In other words, the mind is more powerful and more important than the body. They live purely for the pursuit of knowledge, and so often becomes scribes and the like. Like Tempist, they have a kind of telepathic ability, but instead of reading the minds of others, and manipulating them, they shield them. They aren’t warriors, but protectors and they defend not only the minds of others, but also their physical body. A blade is about to pierce his heart? Strengthen his heart until it is like stone. They are also the perfect counter to a Tempist. When they are manipulating the minds of others, the Scientist will protect those minds. Thus, the two have become mortal enemies.
Class: Protector

Chausim (Chay-ism): Those who worship the God of Chaos, Chaus. The members of this religion are rebels and pioneers of change. They despise things that are static, and constantly fight to oppose order. Their ultimate goal is a world in which there is only chaos and disorder, and therefore a world that is ever-changing. In this sense, they are neither left nor right wing, but seem to switch between the two when the politics are imbalanced. In other words, if the society that they are among is predominately right wing, then they will appear to be left wing, but only for the stake of change. They are extremely diplomatic and adept at lying. In battle, they are wield bows that shoot arrows that can catch fire or even turn icy cold.
Class: Archer

Caritasim (Car-ree-ta-sim): Those who worship the Goddess of Love. The members of this religion are advocates of peace, love and freedom. They oppose hate, oppression, repression, discrimination and racism. Of all the eight religions, the members of this religion are the only ones who do not discriminate in some form. They have a special kind of magic that enables them to heal both physical and mental wound.
Class: Healer.

You definitely have my interest. You even have a god that fits my world view, Chausuim. I would like to claim that God and be the archer diplomat. Here is a quick CS.

Name: Sophia Umbra

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Religion/Class: Chausim- Archer

Appearance: Her long brown hair is pulled back into a pony tail most of the time. Her eyes are a brilliant blue. She is a short 5 ft 4 in tall and fit. She tend to wear leather armor on her side left side and shoulder and on both her arms. She does not wear heavier so that she can still able to move. She wears a skirt that comes down to just above her knees and combat boots.

Personality: She is easy going and goes with the flow most of the time. She tries to keep a positive attitude and be polite to those she meets. She does despise stagnation, routine, and tradition. She was always that way before she took up wandering and found Chausim. She can never stay in once place for long without feeling the itch to move.

History: She was born and raised by her parents in the Caritasim tradition. Because of that she does not harbor any real bias to anyone. However, her rebellious nature but her at odds with her family and village from a relatively young age. She was alway arguing with elders and her parents. When she was 16, she had enough and after an argument left her village and family behind. Never to look back. She has wandered aimlessly since taking odd jobs that did not tie her down.

This definitely looks like it has potential. I've been out of the roleplay scene for some time (and after I tried to get reinvolved, the old site crashed) but I can definitely see myself easing myself back in with this. No promises yet, but I'll be watching.

Name: Brynjar

Age:27

Gender:Male

Religion/Class: Bellatism

Appearance:Brynjar is a big burly man, with long black hair usually wearing his armour given to him by his grandfather the day he turned 18. <for an example)

Personality:Brynjar is quiet and calm but some poeple say this might be the reason for his strength in battle, he has very few good things to say about the world but he worships Bellator without regard to his own feelings, blind hope as his grandfather called it.

History:For as long as Brynjar can remember he lived with his grandfather, not remembering his parents no matter how far back into memory he would try and go but it mattered little top him, he cared for the old man and protected him. His grandfathers name was Brynjar aswell and he felt it was an honour to be blessed with the same name, it is also him who raised the young boy to worship Bellator and follow the path of honour and Brynjar loved that old man untill he passed in battle when Brynjar was 21. Now days Brynjar simply roams the lands looking for a battle wishing to join his grandfather and possibly his parents in the after-life.

Fighting stance: Also passed down to him by his grandfather Brynjar uses a stance called The Berserker Known for their strength his family has always used this stance, it utilizes power over speed and most attacks but the greatest benefit is also its greatest weakness using this style requires one to use a big weapon and heavy chainmail and plating as to really throw your strength into each blow but if Brynjar had to be faced with a truly fast opponent his head as well as several locations between the heavy plates of his armor would be wide open for attack, not that is impossible to counter the blows given to these areas it is just extremely difficult to do so, even with all of his experience and training there is no certainty that Brynjar would even come close to blocking them.

I would like you both to include your character's fighting style and how well they fight. Point out any weakness they have in battle, but also their strengths. I ask this because you are both physical fighters.

Name: Kindrath
Age: 47
Gender: Male
Religion/Class: Caritasim
Appearance: Kindrath stands to the height of an average six foot with a medium build. His stature is not one to balk at, but he is a solid man who's years of service to Caritasim have set him at complete ease and precision within his own physical existence. He eats as was intended, sleeps as is necessary, and is whole both in body and in mind. Although "over-the-hill" his strict regiment of diet and exercise have allowed him to suffer his years with ease. He keeps a tightly cropped hair cut of black with only traces of grey and keeps a clean shaven face.

He is often seen wearing light blue flowing robes when not in his traditional travel and adventuring get-up consisting of tan padded leathers.

Personality: A compassionate stoic, one could accurately accuse him of bring absent a personality at all. He understands the struggles of all and has an uncanny ability of placing himself in other's shoes as well as help others to see things a different light.

Travelling companions, colleagues, and friends have described Kindrath as an anchoring source within their groups of association. He is inherently a peace maker and solid individual whom any and all can count on. He is always predictable.

History: Kindrath is guards his history and has revealed such to no one, although there have been rumors.

He was born into a conclave of the most nefarious and demented sect of Obitsum to parents who had little use for a child. He was treated poorly, and entered the training of as a dealer of death early in his childhood. Yet, there was something awry with the fellow. He was bullied, abused, and bested by his fellows at every turn and every point in training. He brought great shame to his parents and they made no attempts to hide this from him.

He was a sad child, often heard crying within his sleeping pallet at night. It was obvious to anyone that the life of serving Death was not his intended purpose, but there was no outlet for the young boy.

Eventually things came to a head as a pre-teen when it was time for him to draw his first blood. He was not looking forward to, but he went on with the thought and determining motivation that a good performance would put him into the good graces of his parents. The young assassins were dispatched to a small village with the directive to kill. Anything and everything. Kindrath subjected himself to the ridicule of his partners and they slunk into the sleepy village in the dead of night.

Kindrath killed. Blind rage emboldened him and his sight turned to red as he entered village hobble after hobble indiscriminately eviscerated every sleeping form he came across. For a brief moment, but what seemed like an eternity, the servants of Death did what they were bred and trained to do without hesitation and without resistance. But resistance did come... Eventually.

The village they had happened upon belonged to followers of Caritasim, and though docile in nature they were not ones to allow for such indiscriminate slaughter of their people. Up to this point, the death dealers had slaughtered old men, women, and children in their sleep. But now they had caused alarm, and the priests and paladin of the Caritasim order had come to stop the madness.

Kindrath dispatched the life of a sleeping toddler with less vigor than had surrounded him in the beginning. The gurgling and final exhalation of breath tinged at his heart but he shuffled forth from the dwelling and into the street fighting back and suppressing his emotions as had been instructed of him. As he entered the street, he suddenly felt as though a thousand pounds of pressure was attacking his head from all directions. Screams escaped his throat and joined the chorus of his fellows as they all fell to their knees in agony.

"This is enough." The words slammed into his consciousness with brute force, retreating momentarily, and then renewing their explosive pressure into his mind like violent waves. A tall, slender man of Elder age sat atop a dark horse adorned in ceremonial robes of light blue with a flowing white beard faced the assassin children with a penetrative gaze, flocked by several staff wielding men of varying ages similarly dressed.

Suddenly a small group of children flanked thr group, plunging poison riddled daggers into the backs of soft robbed men. The man with the penetrative gaze turned, directing himself and the magic he wielded at the flanking assassins. They stopped in their tracks.

That night was the most pivotal moment in Kindrath's life. The followers of Caritasim kept the child assassins in tow and corralled them into a group. They drug the mutilated bodies of their families into the street, displaying the carnage while the children laughed hysterically. Kindrath did not. He vomited at the sight of his handiwork and broke down into uncontrollable weeping.

This saved his life. The man with the penetrative gaze and Awe inspiring power took him aside and made him his apprentice. Kindrath had found his place, and learned all he could of Caritasim and served with his life.

Other Information: Born and trained an assassin, when in a pinch and forced to fight he can be quite deadly and tricky with his staff. However, he rarely fights, and always seeks a way of retreat when conflict cannot be rectified in other fashions of peace. This is his weakness, his compassion, and slowness to act.

Kindrath is a magic wielder who is proficient at healing. He has had extensive training and experience with ailments of the mind, and subsequently can do harm to the mind as well.

Such magic is high intensive and requires extreme concentration, thus when using magic he is quite vulnerable.
