Set in the universe drawn out by Cornelia Funke, the game will take the same thematic elements and powers proposed in her original work. The game will take place in traditional fantasy setting, middle ages, light magic, ect. with the exception that there exists Silver-tongues in the world. The basic roles that need to be filled are the silver-tongue his or herself, a hero, an outsider, and the friend. These will be drawn out more specifically in the character creation section.
The basic duties of each character archetype is such, the outsider brings enemies, or hazards, writing them into the story when appropriate, being generic in their initial creation, such as [A shadowy figure leaps from the shadows, turning its attention towards (Heros name) it charges."]
The silvertongue fleshes out the enemies, defining specific details and combat specifics [Drawing a blade of shadow from its own form, the creature lets out a howl, leaping into the air,]
And the hero and friend function as those who defend, [(Heros name) steps aside swiftly, drawing his own blade, and avoiding the charge. He says to the party "My friends, be cautious, a shadow beast attacks!"] At this point the beast has been loosely described, given a means to fight, and a general attitude [Shadowy, brutish, savage, but knows how to wield a sword] and the party plays out the combat in traditional play-by-post means, either winning or loosing depending on how the narrative directs it.

This system allows for a fluid creation of events, while ridding the need for a DM, but there will still be a moderator, who will OOC post if things get out of hand or the story seems to grind, and will post a narrative in the voice of NPC's, giving direction to the party.

It is recommended that you have read or understand the basic concepts outlined in Inkheart, as the will help everyone be on the same page.
