Gabriel had wandered around the store and made the mistake of sitting down in a back room. He didn't realize how tired he really was until he blacked out.

Gabe's eyes snapped open, thoughts going to monsters. He assumed it was the middle of the night and he was screwed. Then his thoughts wandered to the child they had with him. Even if he had been with them for a few hours, he was already attached to the kid. Like when you get a new puppy, you'll still cry if it does a few days after being adopted.

Gabriel slowly creeped out from the back room, but stood up when he realized he hasn't been asleep as long as originally thought. He froze when he saw an usual girl, clearly pretending to be southern bound based on her choice of apparel. Gabe remembered when that was a thing. Girls were weird and are still.

"Stay quiet or you might give the bugs reason to investigate," Gabriel hissed under his breath. He didn't like the way she was so loud, like she had to announce her presence to the world.
