Clunk.
The sound of Celeste's boots against the earthen tiles of a rooftop echoed through the eerily silent night. It was 2 am and naturally, there wasn't a single person around. A slow wind picked up, causing empty tumblers on the tarmac to roll on their side, before coming to a quick stop against the curb. Even the crickets had taken their retreat for the night . Streetlights flickered momentarily as they cast orange pools of light on the empty roads.

Cel shook off her blades, causing the grimy material on them to come off, before causing the blades to disappear in a glade of petals. The last fight she had been in was with a familiar who hadn't dropped any grief seed. Her soul gem wasn't particularly clouded, but out of a tendency to horde things, Cel liked to keep one on her most of the time. She held her soul gem in her cupped hands, staring listlessly at it. Her thoughts were far away. Tomorrow was Monday. She had to get up early as the commute to her campus took more than half an hour.
Then her gem started flaring, bringing her back to the present. It began emitting a familiar low hum. There was a witch nearby. Cel couldn't pinpoint its location exactly, but she guessed it was around the school.
Cel took out a pocket-watch.
It was almost 3 now.
She converted back, a plain dress now taking place of her magical girl outfit. She'd had enough for the night and decided to return home. Besides, Streim had a bunch of other magical girls as well. She hadn't met any yet in person, but they were here. That was the only way how some witches were taken care of before she could deal with them herself. Also given its location, she could always deal with the witch tomorrow. She needed her sleep. Lack of sleep made her cranky and irritable.

Soon she was at home, safe under the covers of her bed. Cel's body was tired but somehow her mind was still racing with various thoughts. Sleep did not come immediately to her, but somehow it managed to creep within her thoughts, sending her to a deep slumber.

A witch.

She could feel it. There was a witch at the school. Not a place Minerva could just ignore. While she wasn't certain where it was exactly near the school, she wasn't about to give up a Grief Seed, not when others could snatch it away from her.

The motorcycle roared to life, before she sped off across the building tops. It was easy enough to mask her presence, even with her motorcycle at full speed jumping off building tops; engine noises weren't exactly foreign to anyone, and anyone who glimpsed her would just be told they were dreaming if they thought to mention it to anyone. That was, if they themselves didn't think they were dreaming. Finally reaching the road below, she put on her lights, speeding down the road at a reasonable speed. No sense getting a ticket from any night shift cops. Not when the storage compartment was stuffed with her guns and ammunition.

Before long, she reached the school's front gate, locked as usual for this time of the day. Dissipating the motorcycle into mist, she jumped the fence, holding out her Soul Gem as she did so. Minerva smirked as she detected the witch's trail. Not a very smart witch, to make a labyrinth in this sort of place. After all, there were young girls there; prime candidates for Magical Girls. To make a labyrinth in a school like this was akin to a bird trying to nest inside an alligator's mouth.

A witch.

That was what the pulsing in her soul gem meant, right? It might be late at night, but nonetheless she found herself already rising to her feet in her bedroom. She didn't know where, but Elsa figured that she couldn't let it rampage unopposed. What kind of magical girl would she be if she ignored a monster like that?

Beyond her noble sentiments, there was also a practical purpose for her going out to fight. Specifically, she didn't actually know how to fight yet. She had only contracted a couple days ago, and had not found the opportunity to actually deal with a witch. Supposedly that was because there were other magical girls in the city, and it had been a balance of her own need in addition to not wanting to step on others toes. But she had to learn sooner or later, especially if fighting Witches was the only way she could get Grief Seeds to maintain hr magic.

"Guess I should be going," she muttered to herself as she stepped over to her window, sliding it open and removing the screen. She wasn't that far from the source, and with a nod transformed into her magical girl form. After she put the window back in order she was on her way, haded in the general direction of the school. It was time to do her job.

Dariya

The teenager stretched lazily as she rubbed her eyes, staring at the blank screen of the laptop once more. She still had a couple of days until she restarted high school, so she could spend some leisure time for herself. Reclining herself against her bed, she sighed. These past days, she had done many things to catch up. Plus she was eighteen now. She could get the "quality" stuff, finally. And so she did. Internet was a vast repository of it, in fact.

She felt a shiver, her eyes scanning the lone flat in which she had taken a living to. She and her father didn't see to eye, so all that had trascended is that he had an obligation to pay for her education and living expenses, while he lived with that woman. Well, he wasn't exactly penniless, so she had afforded herself a cozy one bed apartment. She eyed her Soul Gem almost as if a curiosity. The source of her malaise was the soulgem.

"So that's a witch, huh?" She could feel it in her bones. "well then, I was getting tired of browsing anyway." She said to herself as she squirmed herself out of her bed, looking at the hour. 3 am. Night antics, that sounded half bad. She hadn't transformed since her wish had been granted, so she decided to give it a shot. The dress was a bit clingy, though. But she had learned the trick to affix the soul gem firmly in the process. She deftly slided the window open, looking at the metallic wires that were controlled by her gloves.

"I'm supposed to fight with this, huh." Well, there was a thing she could attempt. She stretched...

"SPIDER DARIYA, WEEEE!" She giggled as she used the wires and her newly regained acrobatics to swing gracefully through the buildings. And then something caught her attention. She wasn't alone in the hunt, it seemed? Maybe it caught her attention, because she spectaculary messed up, and ended up hung upside down, her own wires wrapping her like some sort of half-baked coccoon tangle hanging down from one of the tallest buildings.

"Um, little help here?" She pleaded.

Elsa was drawing near her destination, she was sure of it. The intensification of the pulsing in her soul gem at least meant that she was probably headed in the right direction. Otherwise she would not have been sure at all. But she was pretty sure that this was how it worked, from what Kyubey had told her.

Aside from that though, she was just enjoying herself. The ability to run along rooftops and leap between buildings was like something out of a superhero movie, and she was doing it with casual ease. If she could just do something like this as long as she was a magical girl, then she would be happy. The perks were definitely worth the deal that was made.

Yet out of the corner of her eye she noticed something nearby. It looked like something hanging from a building, and led her closer to see what exactly it was. The lessened distance revealed it to be a magical girl wrapped up in wires of some kind, and Elsa closed the gap as she came to rest on a nearby rooftop. "Having problems?" she asked as her spear came to her grip. She didn't plan to use it as a weapon, but she had to get the other girl down somehow.

Dariya tilted her head, her upside-down world veering a few centimeters to the see the newcomer girl. Well, with any luck, this one's a veteran. Stupid things never came with a manual, anyway.. "Uhh...well, Kyubey didn't give me a manual on these things, so I kinda... well, I don't know how to use them well, okay? I was just hopping rooftops and this happened!". Dariya said, her eyes becoming moist and watery.

"Oh come on, help a fellow magical girl in need, I um... can do things! And help!" She stated plainly as she rocked forward and backward. "Like hunting sandwiches. I mean witches. Yeah!" She added as her eyes stared into Elsa's own.

Well then, so that had apparently happened. All things considered Elsa could understand hr problem, since she was in much the same boat. At least she didn't have anything like those wire contraptions herself, so she didn't have to worry about this sort of outcome. Of course she also didn't need the justification provided to rescue her, though it was appreciated and a bit sad in that regard. Well, she supposed it made sense.

Without saying anything more Elsa stepped forward and struck with her weapon, moving to cut the wires that help her in place without hitting the girl herself. She wasn't sure how tough those wires actually were, but ideally this would solve the problem and she could be back on her way. "There you go," she said, dismissing her weapon at the same time. Well then, this had turned out more interesting than she had expected
