What's worst is that the signatures can get so big.

Big avatars, limited sigs... that's how we rolled back then.

Now, if you post IC, only 1/3 is actually IC.

Was making a Zorua, but the idea of an evil Ralts got stuck in my head. Not sure if I want him to come off as legitimately evil or a comedic attempt at being evil. *shrugs*

Name: Grim Darkwood
Species: Ralts
Gender: Male
Level: 6
Moves:
- Growl
- Scary Face
- Confusion
- Trick-or-Treat

Bio: Grim's mother, Luce Morningstar, is an explorer of considerable talent. She's traveled the world, going to places no one else has gone yet and leaving tokens for the next group of adventurers to find. While exploring inside an ancient ruin, a mansion apparently, she met Jekyll Darkwood, a Gourgeist who had made the structure his home. The upstart ghost had recruited all of the other ghosts of the mansion to be his staff, and Luce was in awe at the opulence he had managed to create inside that ruined home.

Luce stayed there for a whole year, the longest she'd ever stayed in one place in her entire life, and during that time, Grim was born. Luce left soon after, her wanderlust getting the better of her once again. It wasn't that she wasn't happy, she did, but she wasn't one to settle down. So she left to go explore new undiscovered realms, and Jekyll and the other ghosts raised the young Ralts. It was years before Grim understood that he was different from the other pokemon of the mansion. He wasn't a ghost. That wasn't nearly enough to stop the great Grim Darkwood though. Grim mimicked his father over and over, learning the one move that could make him like the others. And eventually his hard work paid off; Grim turned himself into a ghost.

Naturally, the other ghosts were thrilled to be able to include Grim in all of their ghostly activities. The time after he learned Trick-or-Treat were some of Grim's happiest days. But his ambitions were larger than one isolated mansion hidden deep in the woods. Grim set out into the world with two goals: to find his mother and to conquer the world, not necessarily in that order. But the world beyond those ancient walls was strange and unnatural to him. It was too bright, too clean, filled with so much change that Grim had never seen in the company of the undying ghost. Only partially due to growing up surrounded by ghosts and spirits, Grim is an exceptionally odd individual. He is nothing like the normal, timid, quiet, scared little Ralts that most think of. Grim is, in one word, evil. He's a psychotic sociopath who speaks his mind and has some serious violent tendencies. Trying to kill the ghosts that make everything a game and count mischief as an art form is a lot different from trying to kill some random pokemon he's just met. Grim has just now entered Treasure Town, and he isn't out to make friends.

Appearance: The green parts of his body are black. Has a long black ribbon tied in an X across his chest, and the two long tails trail behind him as he moves.
Differences: Learns moves from his fathers line alongside his own.

Differences seems a bit vague, considering... well, he's a ghost. Of course, that's probably explained by the move Trick-or-Treat.

Accepted, although I'm required to have Lugia assess this as well.

Hm...
I dunno. 'Evil for the sake of evil' just seems a little... well... thin. It doesn't seem like he has that much characterization beyond being evil just for the sake of being evil.

He's not really a ghost type. He just becomes a ghost using Trick-or-Treat, which he learned from copying his father.

And he isn't really "evil" for the sake of it. He's just taken the ghost ideology of causing mischief and messing with others to its grand extreme. The kid knows what he wants, and he won't back down until he's taken it. Not like he'll ever come remotely close to succeeding, but hey, let a boy dream.

Also, HE is going to eventually evolve into a Gardevoir, not a Gallade. Yes, that's right, a male Gardevoir. Haters gonna get their internal organs rearranged.

I dunno. I still don't quite see enough motivation. I was hoping for a better villain, that is, if one of the villains is going to be played by another player.

Card Captor said
"SHHHH. Not now. I'm making........TOAST!" The guild master declared as he turned around and held up a banana, and clearly not a piece of toast

Oh yeah, er... not to rain on your parade, but try to make him less quirky. I mean, in the original series, he's considerably more serious and dramatic than this. (I think - I wasn't around for the first RP.)

Evanist, please refrain from posting if you cannot post more than... 3 lines. You know, it may downgrade our RP towards the free section. In fact, you should wait for others to post so you may add more detail and action to your own post.

(._. ) But Grim isn't supposed to be a villain, just evil and ambitious. Well, he might do some bad things if the opportunity presents itself, but only if it benefits him. He's an antagonist, not a villain, since he hasn't done anything truly bad.

You responded for about half a page. Was patience involved in this?

I believe Lugia wants a proper motive for his behaviour, rather than just choosing to be mischievous.

I am here, and I will answer a few things. Yes, I want a proper motive for that ralts character, and no, Card is just fine with that. I kinda liked the reference he made, and also, I kinda liked how he kept bananas as his favorite food. (evidenced by the banana he was holding... guess you could say that he's bananas, huh?)

His motive is to become the strongest, no matter what he has to do to achieve that, in order to be like his mother, or rather the idea of his mother that his mind has built up over the years into some infinitely powerful badass explorer. He thinks that she'll reappear or something equally unlikely if he becomes as strong as he thinks she is (or was, but he doesn't like to think about that possibility).

By the way, Card, slight mess-up on your earlier post. You just need to switch Arnold with Archie when they're talking about drugs. Arnold's the airheaded guildmaster, and Archie's the one that actually has wings with which to facewing.

Obscure reference is obscure. I could say the same with a nut, cracker, or suicide letter.

I don't really have much of a problem with that, anymore.

Hm... following in a parent's footsteps may work. Proving strength to bring back a parent is an idea I haven't heard for a while...

Accepted, although barely. Make sure to pick up on becoming the strongest when meeting Card's character.

That's an easy one! It's in the other tab. It's so convenient like this. Each RP is always made with an IC and an OOC thread.
