Jerome Winters looked over the report that'd fallen on his desk. There was a serial killer running loose in Montana. They'd already killed five people. While murder alone wasn't something that warranted the attention of Delta Green, the occult symbols drawn in blood at the scene of the murders was troubling. They reminded the intelligence analysts of some renditions in a tome whose very name invited ill-tidings. To the Office of Operations, that fact was enough to justify the deployment of a task force.

Jerome began the tedious process of putting the operation together. A cover story was simple enough: his task force would disguise themselves as FBI agents chasing a serial killer. Agents could meet him and each other at Malmstrom Air Force Base. The Office of Logistics would help pay for whatever travel expenses the agents had, and could spare a few extra thousand dollars for any additional expenses. The hardest part would be actually getting the agents to show up and commit to the operation. A Night at the Opera was never something that one could anticipate. For many, it always happened at an inconvenient time in their life. Some were also still traumatized by their last operation, and struggled with the idea of putting themselves through another one. But who else was going to stop things that go bump in the night? It was up to people like Jerome and the agents in Delta Green to protect the innocent, no matter the cost.
