@LexisheepsSo like, it's a funny little thing I've noticed in some rp'ers where they reply to each part of a post in turn, rather than the end of the 'scene' that was just shared
ex. Backtracking
p1: "And that's why we don't shake the can," Jimmy laughed as he handed Frederick a towel to clean uo the spilled soda. He hummed in amusement, then gave another laugh and shook his head as he started for the archway leading into the other room.
"I'll be in the living room," he told Frederick as he left, "Come and join me when you have everything cleaned up, and feel free to grabbing another soda if you want a full one."
Making his way across the livingroom, Jimmy sat down on the couch and grabbed the remote, "What do you feel like watching?" he called out to the other man, "I'm feeling like a romcom myself!"
As he waited for Frederick's response, he absently skipped through channels, looking for something interesting, but was having trouble finding anything that seemed worth watching at all.
p2. Frederick scowled at Jimmy and snatched the towel away from him, "Asshole," he muttered, but started cleaning the mess anyways, "You could've told me
before I opened it."
He looked up as Jimmy started to leave and in a moment of annoyance, threw the soda-soaked towel at the guy, "What? You can't help out a little? Or even fucking wait?"
Watching the man just leave, he huffed, then got up to retrieve the towel so he could finish cleaning.
Once everything was sopped up and clean, he tossed the towel into the sink and made way to the fridge to grab another can of soda as offered.
He followed after Jimmy into the living room and plopped down next to him on the couch, making no hesitance the snatch the remote from him once he saw that Jimmy was making no effort to decide on something to watch.
"Romcoms such, let's watch something horror, unless you're too scared," he smirked.

p2. A small utterance of the word 'asshole' had escaped Frederick at Jimmy's condescending remark, but he had accepted the towel, regardless and got to work. Once the spill was cleaned, he made way into the livingroom and plopped down beside his friend with a new can of soda in hand. Without any hesitance, Frederick quickly snatched the remote from Jimmy with a triumphant laugh and held it out of reach as he brought up the guide and started flipping through the pages, "Romcoms suck," he said plainly, "How's about a horror? Unless you're scared," he added with a smirk.
It just kinda flows nicely when you're not responding to each action in line, y'know?, reads more like a story, not so cluttered having to jump back to certain points and rewrite scenes in your head to fit the new info, if that makes sense
I get why people do it the other way, and it makes sense! It can just be confusing and cluttered for me because I like to imagine things flowing as one consecutive flow, one thing after another
I'll admit my example kinda sucks too, btw, because I'm really bad at writing the other way, so it was hard to really show the backtrack style orz
