Bruce nodded to that, "it's fine Luna though max will be probably be putting me on bed rest for the next couple of days." He sighed to that, Peter just had gotten done with Jacob. "I feel bad for you Bruce I really do."

Max was at the door and sighed walking out. "You guys realize I can hear you." She walked over to the railing and looked around. "They really came out of nowhere didn`t they." She said looking around and smelling the air trying to sense if there were any more around. Finding there was none she turned around and looked at all of them.

Bruce nodded to that, "if Jacob hadn't arrived I would have been on the ground bleeding out and slowly dying from vampire venom so you can thank him for saving my life." Jacob nodded as he got to his feet, he nodded toward max at that.

Max looked at him and took a deep breath. "Thank you for that, for the new guy you seem to be doing a lot. It`s appreciated." She said thankful someone could have gotten to Bruce. Because Willow had been upstairs she couldn`t have gone outside without her possibly having gotten into trouble herself. It made her wonder how they were going to do all this. The patrols needed to be closer to the house then they had been.

Bruce nodded, "thanks for saving my life." Jacob shrugged at that, "not a problem really just doing what another person in this pack would have done for you because we are a family in everything but blood." He sighed as he leaned back in the chair, "I guess both of us will be in bed rest then I have a feeling Luna would force me to stay in bed."

"Oh I already get that power over you?" Luna said looking over at him with an amused expression on her face. Max looked at the two and raised an eyebrow. "And what`s going on between you two?" She asked both of them curiously, knowing fully well what it probably was. It amused her to find out Peter`s reaction on this. If she remembered correctly he`d said that any man going towards his daughter would have to get through him first.

Jacob ducked his head, looking at the floor. Peters eyes widened before he, grabbed Jacobs arm hauling him up and taking him inside. "I need a private conversation with Jacob." Jacob had his teeth clenched from the pain coming from his chest.

Luna watched as Peter dragged the injured Jacob inside. Her hand went out to stop him and say something but they were already inside. "Oh geez," she said and sighed. Max looked at her and smiled. "Yay, I was right about it then." Max commented happily. "Although Jacob probably is going to get the rant of a life time and then maybe injured more." She added nervously.

Jacobs eyes stayed on the floor as Peter ranted at him, before he felt a fist connect with his jaw. "You look at me when I'm talking to you about my daughter," Jacob rubbed his jaw before his eyes snapped up. "Now let me tell you something, Luna has her own free will she's not that little girl and if I am her mate I can't break her heart even if I wanted to. So don't say a damn thing like that to me!" Jacob shook his head, as he walked out of the front door slamming it behind him. He had to get away for now he would come back later when he calmed down, Peter just stood there taking in what Jacob had said.

Luna heard a slamming eventually from the other side of the house. "Oh geez, what did he do to him." She said before walking inside and looked around till she finally found Peter. "What happened Dad?" She asked concerned. Max looked at Bruce walking over before sitting down next to him. "Seems like the suspicion was correct."

Peter sighed, looking at Bruce who had his arms crossed. "I over reacted ranted at him till I got to the part about him daring to break your heart, I had punched him in the jaw when he wouldn't meet my eyes. He had said that, he may be your mate and that he couldn't break your heart, he left after that." Bruce shook his head to that, "your an idiot Peter I even know that when a mate finds there mate they couldn't break there mates heart." Jacob shook his head as he kept walking, he didn't go far till he found another clearing he sat down on the rock in the middle of it.

Luna sighed. "You really had to go so far as to hurting him. Where is he now?" She asked worried. With that group of vampires attacking out of nowhere members of the pack shouldn`t be going out by themselves. Through the pack bond she located him and nodded. "I`m going to go make sure nothing bad happens." She said and walked out the door before shifting and running off to the spot near the house where he was.

Jacob had his jaw clenched, he had lost a lot of people already. He knew a bruise had already formed on his jaw where he had been punched, he didn't know if he was wanted in the pack with how Peter had said it. The words still ringing in his head, 'hell I don't want you here Bruce might be alpha but that doesn't mean I have to like you.'

Luna came up to the clearing standing among the trees as she shifted into human form. She then stood behind a tree down wind so he couldn`t pick up her scent. He seemed like he`d wanted to be alone so she wasn`t going to go talk to hi if he didn`t want it. She was only here because she feared of what could happen to him out here.

Jacob sighed and shook his head, it wouldn't matter if Peter liked him or not he would have to deal with it. He let out a breath, before standing once again. He looked to his side seeing Luna, he didn't move his eyes meeting hers.

Luna looked at him her eyes meeting his. She stepped out from behind the tree and looked at him before walking closer. Walking up to him she looked at his jaw. "God damn it Peter," she said and sighed. "I`m sorry he did that, he`s always decided that he was going to protect me to no end. Even though he doesn`t have too anymore and doesn`t have the power over me to do so anyway. I can`t make excuses for it though. It was wrong of him to do this to you and I should have stopped it."

Luna nodded looking down at her feet. "He`s an idiot then, that`s selfish of him." She said quietly suddenly wanting to punch her dad in the face. "He doesn`t even know you, none of us really do yet so how can he honestly say that."

Jacob looked at her, before lifting her head to meet his gaze. "I understand now why vlad has been acting the way he is I think I found my mate after all these years of wondering from pack to pack till I settled down in nicks pack."
