And in the 41st Millenium, the Imperium stands, a mighty bulwark of glorious Humanity against the myriad
foes who would assail it. The Lords of Terra beat their breasts and dare all those who would think to assault
this mighty fastness. “Our dominion stretches from one spiral arm of the galaxy to the other,” they cry.
“Who dares to stand against the numbers of our armies, the strength of our fleets, the fury of our Angels
of Death?”

Yet, there are those who dare. For ten thousand years mankind has imagined itself ensconced within a mighty
fortress, safe, warm, and protected. They ignore the truth; they are not so far removed from their primitive
forbears, the savages who huddled around a flickering campfire and tried to ignore the hungry shapes that
prowled just outside their feeble light. Far from a vast dominion, the Imperium is simply scattered lights
against a vast and terrible void. And now, just as then, there are wolves in the darkness.

The enemies of the Imperium are legion. They howl in the night and scratch at the gates as the pitiful
masses cower in their beds. They pray to their long-dead god that the gates will protect them, but no gates
can hold forever. The Imperium will fall. And when it does, who then will survive? What of humanity will
last against the ages? The defenceless, leaderless masses of mankind? Or those few who dared to become the
most dangerous monsters of all?

Excerpt from THE APPROACHING NIGHT, declared Hereticus Extremis 811.M41

This is a WH40K Black Crusade campaign. It will be homemade sector, at least initially, between the Maelstrom and Dominion of Storms in Ultima Segmentum.

A complex region as two smaller warp storms buffet one another seemingly in constant contest making travel of the region hazardous at the best of times with one exception. Between the two storms there is a trail of worlds that somehow remain placid within the warp allowing easy travel through the storms so long as one can evade the myriad of other dangers. Within both storms are dozens of worlds which have fallen to chaos and those on the edges or within this trail are under a constant onslaught of dangers from both within and without. Even with the grand threat of chaos there are always more threats arising, xenos traverse these stars at will, using the warp storms to cover their movements from their hidden bases or to allow them to attack worlds with impunity. Eldar forever moving the fates to their own ends, orks attracted by warfare, and even necrons and tyranids are not unheard of within the sector without even counting those native to the region who prey upon humanity.

Yet the greatest threat is and shall always be the force of Chaos, the dread worshippers of Tzeentch, Khorne, Nurgle, and Slaanesh. Ranging from minor cults rooted out and destroyed by arbites to fearsome warbands with goals of forging their own Black Crusades to launch out from this Trail of Dust. Seeing this, humanity pressed by enemies on all sides. The forces of Chaos preying on all from within and from without. A dozen wars being waged at any one time with men and women dying in droves. With destruction and death around every corner I have but a single question for. Which god shall you serve?

We will be using Orokos for the rolls. please make sure for campaign you put in "Omega - Black Crusade"
Omega - Black Crusade

Players will be human non-astartes for this campaign.

You can pick your alignment at will instead of having to pay for advances into your god's alignment and at character creation you may change alignment though do not use this to meta-game.

For people who may want something homebrew more than likely I will allow you to have it so you can invent your own thing and it will pretty much be a matter of agreeing on what it takes to get it. If you want something from fluff that is almost certainly possible and will just be a matter of statting it up and figuring out what it takes to acquire it.

As we are using advanced archetypes as well as normal ones there will be some changes to starting characters:

Any questions or concerns? I am more than willing to help at any time.

Personae Dramatis:
Choirmaster Verdi - Apostate (Polyjester)
Celeste Davayos - Renegade (Fallen Muse)
Malignus Raevan - Psyker (Imagination)
Argent - Heretek (Raineh Daze)
Embra Parasitif - Q’Sal Magister Immaterials (Crayt)
Lord Brutus Lanius Nero (Comrade Zed)

Although I haven't gotten the non-mechanical info down (and I thought Rank wasn't in this particular game?), I do have that lot available.

You are correct, I basically copied it straight from the Black Crusade character sheet. Another typo in the rulebook it seems, I guess when you are running 5 different RPG series it is easy for things to get mixed up.

If you find any other oddities tell me so i can homerule what to do with it. I have already worked with Fallen Muse as in the core rulebook renegades do not start with the talents for almost half their gear they can start with and so have ruled that renegades start with the talents for any gear they can take as part of their archetype.

I'm merely sad there appears to be no mechadendrite where someone decided 'hmm, what if we stick a power sword on one of these?'

Really? There are no mechadendrite options for putting like a power sword on it? I will check the tomes when I get a chance but if it is not present we can homebrew that since I see no reason it would not be an option.

I swear I recall in either Rogue Trader or Dark Heresy what were basically powerfist mechandendrites.

Not in the core book, at least.

My AP in light carapace armour is... 8. That's handy.

indeed, and as a heretek it will only go up. Since you can take a ballistic mechadendrite with character creation I will give the option to take a melee oriented mechadendrite with a chain dagger or any primary weapon except an astartes combat knife or great weapon.

I'll stick to wielding my sword axe normally for now.

And being a medic, I guess. XD

I can also breathe in space, but it's questionable what use this is.

When you say "medic" do you mean like a helping people medic or a medic who wants to see what happens when he adds things to you kind of medic?

Also breathing in space has tons of uses, just imagine what you could do with that, like fighting a guy on top of a space ship.

Both! Need to keep useful people alive, and SCIENCE.

I'm not sure what Wealth actually does as Pride. Either you get something with:

-A -30 Acquisition Modifier
-A +20 Acquisition Modifier

Somehow, I think only one of these is useful.

I do not see the -30 Acquisition Modifier. Wealth as a pride let's you get something extra with a +20 bonus to the acquisition test and since you do not roll for acquisition tests during character creation is a decent chance at a rarer item at the cost of -3 WP.

Edit: I believe with your infamy score with the wealth pride you can acquire a near-unique item.

And the default for 'what can you start with?' is Infamy Bonus items, each with an acquisition modifier of -10 at worst. Thus, Wealth would be one more of -30, wouldn't it?

Ah, yes, for that one test you can get an item that would be a -30 normally for you.

if you are looking for extra protection I noticed power armor is extremely rare and terminator armor near unique.

I don't think they accommodate mechadendrites all that well.

Plus powering them might be a bit of a pain. Hmm... I could rearrange stuff for that, though.

Hah, I just noticed a mistake I made, i have been wondering why everyone's infamy was so high. it seems for everything else you roll 2d10 but for infamy is 1d5 at start.

I had to go look at that again when I saw it possible to start in terminator armor easily.

Edit: I see you rolled your right though I noticed that with the wealth pride you actually have to roll for the item in question.

Honestly, that makes it so worthless as to not bother with. Maybe start off with something good, but more likely get nothing or common junk? Not worth it in the slightest. XD

Well remember acquisition tests can be used for groups of items as well, though ya it does not seem to worth it unless you really want something and feel like you can get decent odds at it.

Rules of acquisition can get complex it seems taking things like flaws in the item, different grades that can be changed afterwards, and even making a test for just the parts of something.
