[OOC] Onset of a True World: Prologue

This RP is the first installment of a much larger story, and as such I will only be accepting a small group of DEDICATED players. People who have any kind of uncertainty of whether or not they will be able to see this multipart RP to the end shouldn't apply. If you CAN commit to it, welcome aboard.

Onset of a True World: Welcome to the Academy

You look up in awe at your new home, your letter of acceptance fluttering in the wind. The imposing building looks more like a palace than a school, but this is undoubtedly the correct place. You steel yourself and step onto the drawbridge, hoping that you will fit in better here than the other magical academies. As you reach the massive gates, a guard asks you your name.

Bio/Personality: Headmaster Lawrence shares his history only with his closest acquaintances. He is a cheerful, if mysterious man, and is always willing to lend a helping hand when it's needed. His cheerfulness should not be mistaken for lenience, however, as he will be swift and fair in enforcing the rules.
Important Personal Belongings: A stone sword etched with runes. He carries the blade always, either in his hand or more often in a scabbard across his back.

Bio/Personality: Rosewoode is fair in her decisions but she does occasionally have a bit of temper. She loves the students and teaching them. She enjoys animals and loves to dabble in creating various things. The rest will be found out in the RP.

Race: High Elf
Inherent Magic: Illusory/Psyche Magic: Rather than alteration of the physical worlds, Jonas's magics alter the mental worlds. While not having many forms of direct attacks, he can create illusions and mess with the thoughts and knowledge of others, fooling those whom can be fooled.
Bio/Personality: Jonas mainly just keeps to his books. He is polite and mannered, but just don't interrupt him while he is studying. Do so, and he gets seriously irate. A bit of an aspiring erudite, wanting to know all there is to know. He studied with masters of the arcane from a very young age, and has recently gone his own path to learn more about magic, more than his masters could teach him so far. He was promised a permanent place amongst them if he returned with new knowledge.
Important Personal Belongings: A book that he's always seen with. No one else has read it other than Jonas, and he prefers to keep it that way. Speculated to be forbidden knowledge.

Bio/Personality: Born the oldest brother of four, Arden is accustomed to taking care of others often over himself, he was removed from his last school for fighting, a habit he hopes doesn't follow him to this school. He is kind hearted and hard headed. He wants to become a better fighter and protector of the innocent and weak with his power. He bases his values on true justice even if that means he would have to put down a friend.

Inherent Magic: Holy magic in many form has been passed down in the yalken family, Arden however has explosive light that comes from his hands, he can cast powerful sealing spells but has very little battle spells, however he can use his magic to hurt those of dark origin. His use over light ranges from simply heating up an enemy to healing deep wounds.

Important Personal Belongings: A long two handed Katana made from solidified magical energy. A coat of flames that belonged to his father it protects him from fire and heat.

Alright, let's put something to a vote here. We could continue as we were, choosing powers at random, spending a long time figuring them out and developing characters that won't exist beyond the Prologue, or I could just let you choose your own powers and we can start whenever.

I am saying the sword belonged to his father who was a defender of the innocent much like how arden wants to be. His father crafted it throughout his journey.

Then I will allow it, with the Caveat that he cannot wield it at it's full potential until he understands it fully. Since it was made of his father's magic, he can wield it as a regular, if unique sword, but magic is unique to the source.

Which is why I see little point in spending so much time setting up a system we'll just discard when we're done here.

Maybe the characters we play here play an integral part in the next game?

Race: Feytouched Human
Bio/Personality:
Born human, Britnia became Feytouched when she rescued an injured fairy from a rampaging wolf, but became mortally injured herself in the process. To save her life, the fairy gave her a gift that very few people know about, much less of whom aquire. She became Feytouched, granted all the powers in a fairy's domain, and joined the fairies in their home for a while. Eventually though, she began to long for the human world once more, and left to find somewhere that she could interact on normal terms with them.
Inherit Magic:
Feycasting - The Fey are creatures of magic, and as such can learn to cast any spell that is not aligned (They can cast Light and Dark magic, but not Demonic and Heaven magic)
Shapeshifting - Fairies can change their shape to anything, living or not, of their own size. As a Feytouched, this extends to changing her size between her fairy and human forms.
Flight - Fairy flight is magical, as their wings are mostly vestigial. As such, Britnia can fly even in her wingless human form.
Earth Magic - As a creature of the forest, Britnia has a special connection with the earth. She can cast Natural earth magic, allowing her to command the earth without a spell.
Important Personal Belongings:
Fairy Charm Bracelet: Given to her by her adoptive mother, this charm bracelet has many special properties, each one contained in one of the charms.
Circle Charm - This charm allows the bracelet to change size with her.
Cage Charm - Once per day, this charm can summon a protective shield around Britnia and anybody within a certain range.
Wind Charm - This charm allows Britnia to send her voice on the wind, talking to people from afar.
There are a few other charms, but I will describe them as they come up.
