James picked her up again and took her into the back room. He laid her on the bed in there, then sat down in a chair next to the bed, and tried to relax. He had a long day today, and he was just glad he could finally relax.

After a little bit Bane came into the back and leaned against the wall, looking grim. "Dad filled me in...turns out her name is Megumi Shade...she's from the village hidden in Moonlight...and her village is in trouble. She was the only one who could get out enough to send word for help and get here ahead of the hunters after her...how is she?"

"She's fine. I used my new Wound Transfer jutsu on her. She should be fine. She just needs to rest for awhile," James said. Even though he transferred her wounds to himself, he was still fine, thanks to the fact that he healed faster than the normal person, and he had an actual healing jutsu. He looked at Bane. "I can probably go ahead of whatever team they get set up to find out the problem so I can fill them in. I'll escort her back to her village when she wakes up, and whenever the hokage gets a team set up he can send them."

Bane nodded and said "that's what he is working on now. He says he might call our team. But anyway, He says to keep an eye on her and to let him know when she comes around...she isn't looking to good on energy" His eyes changed, turning lime green and glowing as he looked her over.

James noticed the change in Bane's eyes. "Don't try anything funny," he said. "Remember what happened last time I had to stop you from doing something stupid? I had to seal your chakra until you got yourself under control again."

Bane smiled and said "I got it, buddy...I'm just checking her charka...flow...what the heck? Her charka...its the wrong color" The glowing stopped and he looked at James. "its purple"

James looked at Bane. "I know. Which is why I didn't use Chakra Transfer," he said. "And seeing chakra that's the wrong color shouldn't be that much of a surprise to you. Remember that I have both black and white chakra."

Bane nodded and said "but yours I understand....this I don't. It looks like...shadows in her veins" he blinked and rubbed his eyes. "It's like a dark alley in her body running around...it doesn't look right at all"

"You've gotta remember that she comes from the Hidden Moonlight Village. It's full of users of jutsus dealing with darkness and shadows."

Bane nodded and said "I guess...why is she being hunted in the first place? Dad wouldn't say..." Megumi suddenly stirred and moaned, opening her eyes slowly. "What...what happened..."

James did a little hand motion to get Bane to shut up, then looked at Megumi. "After I stopped your pursuers, you passed out so I carried you into Konoha. I'll go get the Hokage now." He then got up and went to inform the Hokage that Megumi was awake.

Megumi sat up slowly, holding her head. Bane smiled and said "Hey there, sweetheart..." The Hokage looked up and said "James? How is our guest?"

"She's awake," James said. "And you may wanna hurry. Bane is in there alone with her." He then walked back into the room just in time to see bane trying to talk to her. He then made a few hand symbols and then the air around Bane kept any sound from coming from him.

Bane sighed and looked at him. The Hokage walked in and said "Easy you two...James, could you let my son talk" Megumi smiled and said "Hello..." The Hokage sat down and said "How are you feeling?" She looked at her hands and said "Much better....thanks to these two..."

James chuckled as he stopped distorting the air around Bane. "Trust me. Even though he tries to take credit, he's pretty damn lazy."

Bane frowned and the Hokage raised his hand and said "Enough both of you. Ms. Megumi, I got your message a few days ago. I will have a team ready but James and Bane have offered to take you back to your village to help start the charge of saving your home. If that is alright with you?" Megumi smiled and said "Thank you all for your help...my village needs all the help we can get..."

James looked at them. "Actually, I think Bane should help choose the team. He seems to have good judgement when it comes to choosing who would be good for a team. I'll escort her back to her village. We need to be as prepared as possible."

The Hokage looked at James and said "I want bane to go with you, this will be a recon mission and he is one of the best. Your task is to protect Megumi" Megumi looked up and said "I don't need to be protected"

"She's very capable. I've seen what she can do. She will only need me as an escort. I advise that it would be a good idea to let Bane get the team ready, while I go with Megumi to her village," James said.

Bane said "dad, really, James doesn't..." But one look from the hokage shut bane up and he said "of course father...whatever you say" the leader nodded and stood. "All three of you will leave in the morning. Will that work for you Megumi?" The girl nodded, having a feeling that the hokage had something going on apart from her safety
