WhiteRose Character Sheet
Katiel

Katiel is a guardian angel, assigned to protect a young woman from harm while the foul armies of darkness gather around her. He appears to be a young man, cleanly dressed, with a mop of untidy white hair at the top of his head. He is easily exasperated and has little patience for those who would oppose the forces of good, being particularly ruthless in the protection of children, whom he has come to view as particularly worthy of special care. He often finds himself at a loss when dealing with mortals, never knowing quite where to draw the line between mercy and justice when it comes to personal sin, and therefore sometimes being perceived as too harsh by those with a more easily forgiving mindset.

HylianRose Character Sheet

Kari Lufton

Kari, unbeknownst to her, is a Nephilim, the love child of an Angel and a human. She lives with her single mother in a pretty small town. They live in a pretty nice apartment complex, the neighbors being civil to them both. However, Kari has heard her share of gossip about her and her mother and prefers to ignore it. Once, when she was small, she attacked someone for calling her mother a 'whore.' It didn't end very well for Kari and so she's since stopped. Their life together isn't very easy. Kari often doesn't understand her mother and why she says the things she does and will often rebel to that fact just because she doesn't understand the rules. She prefers to live on her own accord and by her own rules. She tends to stay in her room by herself, playing video games or talking to friends online. Whenever she goes outside, she usually finds her way to the community park where she'll walk around, listening to music.

She doesn't really treat others poorly, in fact, she's nicer to strangers than she is to people close to her. She'd often put herself in harms way just to save a poor kitten on the road or a child being abused by his/her parents. She is not afraid to speak her mind and will do so freely. She is what one would call a free spirit, doing as she pleases. Usually, what she pleases is what she thinks is right. It might not always be right, but she honestly thinks she's doing good.

She doesn't really care about her appearance but she does attempt to look presentable just because it causes less fuss at school. A senior in high school, Kari is just ready to get to college where she'll be away from her mother and in a place where people won't judge her. Or at least, won't voice their judgement.

vfnvfdj.

I found something cool. Doesn't this sort of look like an 'awakened' or 'realized' form of Kari?

I'm taking an Undergraduate Theology degree - just going into my third and final year (not sure how that would translate into the American system...). Writing my dissertation on "The Cross in Paul: Liberation or Justification". Fun fun. :D

I'm English, by the way, in case you hadn't twigged that already. x)

How about yourself? What subject do you take?

Ohh... Yeah, I guess that's a bit different. I'm in my second year of an undergrad English Education degree. Planning to teach teenagers how to write and well... how to enjoy reading and speaking and... words. I like words. .-.

Anyway. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure in America, Dissertations are a 'I'm getting my master's degree.' sort of thing. At least, that's as much as I know about dissertations.

Ah, ok. In the UK you're expected to write a 12,000 word dissertation as part of your UG degree - basically it counts for 2 modules of your final year. At least, that's the course structure at my Uni, it might not be the same everywhere.

Aiming to be a lecturer myself: I'm in the process of applying for my Master's Degree at the moment. x)

Also, I posted.

Shweet. -goes to read-

I'm not sure I'll be able to afford a postgraduate degree once I'm done here. I go to a little private college and they suck the money right out of my blood, I swear. So, I'm hoping I can't at least get my foot in the door at some school with just a Bachelor's and make enough money somehow to get my master's.

Probably like every other school teacher ever. But ye.

Yeah, education can be really expensive. I'm lucky that mine is sponsored (at UG anyway) by the government so the debt is fairly manageable.

I wish.

I feel like I'm selling my soul in order to get a mediocre chance at getting a job. I don't know. I try to enjoy it while I can. Before I'm thrust into the real world with thousands of dollars on debt on my back.

I guess at the end of the day all you can do is work hard and trust that it'll work out somehow. In the meantime, you have to find things that make you happy. Life's too short to worry, eh?

Anyway, how have you been? Sorry I haven't gotten a post out to you yet. I've been busy with going back home and getting stuff done but I should be able to get one out sometime today or tonight. :)

I suppose it's an issue of vision, and poor direction. Personally I've come to expect the unexpected in RP- the joy of it is that you don't know how all the actors are going to act. If I want to tell a specific story, I'll tell it as a story rather than through a medium which relies on 'player' input to move.

No worries about not posting- I've been moving furniture all day anyway. Been trying to get a desk into my bedroom so I can work (before I had to do my work on the bed as I didn't have a large flat surface)! And, just a heads up, I won't be posting much tomorrow as I'm visiting family.

That's fine. Tomorrow I'm going to be working on school stuff.

And, if I'm understanding you correctly, that's exactly the way I see it. If I have a specific story in mind, I'll write it myself. But when you make an RP, you need to expect for people to go outside what you planned. That's why I'm always adaptable in my own RP, Athalia. If my player's somehow make it hard for me to pull off that plot point I'd wanted, I just find another way to do it. If someone makes a character that doesn't seem to fit the others, I offer help. Here, let me help you make a character that might work well with this group while at the same time still contain a creative outlet for you. I don't know... I just hate GM's that read CSs as if they're above everyone else. I've seen some people that reject CSs before they even read the whole thing. And their response? "This is crap. Go away." And I'm censoring it. So yeah...

So far, I like the way our RP is going. I feel like we both equally have input in the story, in creating it... Anyway,, I should stop before I like... make a book out of this. Lol.

Yea, I agree. Glad you're enjoying the RP so far - do let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see, btw. Happy to plan for that sort of thing. :)

So, I found a picture for Kari... with a shotgun. xD

Also, I'll try to get a post out to you today. I always find it hard to try and imagine what characters are going through in these kinds of situations.
