The small village of Rugner was on the border between Lurkia and Altea. It was the center of disputes between the two for decades now. At the current moment, it was under the rule of the Altean Empire. Full plate soldiers stood in guard around the city at the early morning as the town came to life. One of these men was a young man name David. David was a new recruit with the 15th legion, that was charged with guarding a 100 mile stretch of land with 1000 troops. He looked around the center of town, a woman watching her children play, people attempting to sell goods to travelers. It was another peaceful day for him.

What he didn't know was that on the horizon, a storm was brewing. 30,000 troops of the Lurkian kingdom stood, poised to attack the village and punch a hole straight into the Empire of Altea. The General in charge of the attack was Marcus. He looked at the small village and a small smirk came across his face. Only 100 troops were stationed there to defend the town from any bandits. It was going to be the easiest battle of his career.

After what seemed like an eternity, Anya finally found herself in Rugner. A home to one of the many Guardian temples that dot the human lands. It was one of her goals in life to visit them all and honor The Guardian. The village was so small, she could see the temple from where she stood.
As she moved toward the building, Anya could feel an immense tension filling the air. A dense cloud that hung silently over the village. Something was amiss. While the suffocating unease bothered her, she was here for one reason. The temple. It wasn't long before she reached the entrance and a tingle of excitement crawled up her spine. She took a deep breath and walked in. Her joy was short lived as she saw a few human children gathered around the Guardian's likeness. It took a moment for her to realize just what they were doing.
"Hey! Y'all kids stop thad righ' now!" Anya shouted at them. They were using paint of some sort to draw crude images on the murals around the building. Luckily, she had stopped them before they desecrated the Guardian.
At the sound of her voice, they dropped what they were doing and turned around. For a moment, they were silent, and then they started to laugh.
"Who is going to make us?"
"You talk funny!"
Another of their little group thought it would have been funny to throw a pail of paint at her face. With ease she knocked the bucket away but not before a decent amount splattered on her legs and boots. Anya didn't bother to mask the anger on her face. Without missing a step, she walked over to the boy who tossed the can and slapped him across the face. Then she drew the blade she carried on her hip, a thin, sharpened piece of bone.
"These were ma favorid riders!" Anya saw nothing but red as she drew the knife down his cheek, light enough to not cause a serious wound, but to make it hurt for a few days.
She forced him out the door and shut away the rest of the world. The other children had fled long before. Anya spun on her now blue spotted boots and walked back to the alter, knelt, and prayed to the Guardian.

Once the kids left, they ran to the local sheriff. He quickly rounded up some of the local militia and they proceeded towards the temple. David saw this and informed his Captain of the matter. Before the locals could get to the temple the Alteans had gotten there first. They blocked the entrance, knowing the locals intended to barge into it and arrest her. They were going to allow her rest and try her, but they were not going to disrespect the temple.

"You can't keep us out of there! we have a right to arrest her for harassing our children!" one of the villagers scream to the captain. He looked around and sighed.
"You will see her arrested by us, the law keepers here. We will try her and find her guilty or not guilty. But no one is to set foot in that temple." As he finished his sentence the posse uproared with screams of just attacking them too. At the sound of their anger the Alteans formed a shield wall and drew their weapons. They waited as the crowed finally calmed down.
"We will wait, but we want her imprisoned!" The sheriff spoke. The captain remaind quiet on that matter. He knew if he said there would be a fair trial for her they would get angry. Most of these people were Lurkians and did not like the elven kin. But he was an Altean and was commanded to protect them if possible.

The chatter outside was keeping Anya from being able to finish her prayers. She had come to realize she had done something awful after a while as her blade had blood on it. Humans couldn't enter the temple, so she could simply wait until the crowd dispersed. Though, The Guardian would probably be unhappy if she didn't take responsibility for her crime. With a sigh, she stood and walked to the door. From the sound of it, they wanted her head on a damn spike. Humans. Always resorting to violence. Anya placed her hand on the wood, closed her eyes, and pressed her head against it. The old wood was warm from the day and it felt wonderful against her skin. There was no more delaying the inevitable. With no small amount of hesitation, she pushed open the door.

As she walked out of the temple, the people started to roar once again. Ignoring them, Anya looked at the few men keeping the mid from her and located who appeared to be in charge. He was a little ground, in her opinion, to be on the front lines of a war. Then again, most humans looked young to her.
"S'cuse me, ser." She said and held up her arms, "You may arresd me."

As the young elf appeared the crowd began to roar and move forward. The captain saw this and took the girls arm and pulled her into the formation of his men. The men all locked shields and readied their words. The Villagers all looked at the soldiers and stopped. They wanted the girl punished, but were not about to face the Altean Soldiers. Even though the villagers out numbered them the Alteans were trade combatants, and most were veterans of war.

"Back away!" The captain ordered and the Villagers all began yelling, but complied with the order. The soldiers marched forward, the elf in the middle of the formation. They brought her to a jail cell at the sheriff's office and locked her inside. The young man she tried talking to before stood at attention inside whil the rest of the men stood outside and kept the villagers at bay.
