Since I want to run a battle/arena based RP, here it is....

Take a character from any previous RPs, like a hero of a game from the GDT RP, or a fantasy RP, pokemon RP, or even a sci fi RP! Or even use an existing character from an anime, videogame, or book!

Then have them fight other people in an inter-dimensional DOOM ARENA for their freedom.

As a bonus, the RP of origin didn't have to successfully start in order to qualify, so any characters you want to breathe some new life into are a-okay.

All technology and magic levels and types are allowed, and outright copies of characters from various fandoms will be allowed as a preventative measure to the strict "original character barrier" of the Sci-Fi RP I tried to start that only served to raise the bar to unwanted heights. The only thing I'm really going to ban is if someone creates a character which turns out to be godmodding. (I'm keeping an eye on myself!)

===APPLICATION FORM===

Character Name
Physical Description: Short description of species. Gender. Short description of equipment and clothing.
Biography: Short description of character's life before the canon events of their origin RP. Short description of character's life during the canon events of their origin RP. Short description of how they ended up forced to compete in the Interdimensional Doom Arena.
Weapons: Any weapons they use in combat.
Skills: Any physical skills they posses, do not confuse this for magicks.
Abilities: Any magical or supernatural abilities that can be used in combat.
===EXAMPLE OF ACCEPTABLE APPLICATION FORM===

Scarfy
Physical Description/Photo: A cute orange floating cat head. The face of an angel! As long as you don't make Scardy mad!

Biography: A scarfy in dreamland, serving as an enemy to Kirby, until it gets teleported to the Doom Arena to fight!

Weapons: N/A

Skills: Hard to hit due to flight and floating head.

Abilities: Suicide Bombing, Final Boom, Flight

(I will NOT be using the above example. I just wanted to be clear about how this works.)

==Rules==

1) No Godmodding/metagaming/powerplaying

2) I will NOT accept Yukari Yakumo (Boundary Manipulation), Reality manipulation, and OP Time-Space Manipulation, really anything that is way too OP.

3) Certain OP characters ARE allowed, but are placed in a different "tier" of fighters where they can only fight against themselves. Otherwise, when they fight non-OP characters, they are nerfed and are psuedo cosmetic. Don't be afraid to make O.P characters! (Though limit them and don't make a bunch of them.)

4) OHKO (Finishers/Fatality Moves)/OP Abilites must be listed in the Abilities section individually, they may be used as a finisher. NOTE: That this does NOT mean that if the opponent has one hit remaining until a win you can use it. You can use it pseudo-cosmetically AFTER the winning hit connected.

5) The Battle System is EMOTE! (For those who don't know; EMOTE is below)

6) Depending on your bio and your character's personality they will be assigned to one of four living conditions:

-Normal Living conditions is a clean prison cell, you are treated as a serf and are allowed to walk around the courtyard, prison, etc. No buffs/debuffs

-Better/Worse Living Conditions are for God tier characters, depending on their biography and personality, and weather or not they want to be at the Doom arena depends on their living conditions, Better living conditions are that of a small apartment with an ice box, microwave, bed, and sofa. Worse living conditions are that of a filthy medieval dungeon, which normal characters can also "achieve." No buffs/debuffs

-Wonderful Living conditions are usually for characters with a biography that went looking for the Doom Arena, or usually evil characters who approve of the Doom arena. They are treated like Roman Noblemen/emporers and have servents, a huge room with a beautiful simulated look, an abundance of food, roman-like furniture, clothes, anything you can think of! (Yes, even videogames) [Note that you can fake this as well for better living conditions, persuasion is hard, though] +Honor System Stamina Buff

-Torture/Starving Chambers, those for who are extremely morally good or who have acted super wrongly will be placed in torture/starving chambers, torture is dependant on how well you did on an arena, this will ALWAYS debuff your character untill you can get to the worse living conditions. +Honor System Stamina De-buff

7) Have Fun!

==Battle System==

The Emote battle system goes as followed: Each RP-er will take turns (posts) to attack each other, the defender picks if the hit hits or not, he can parry, counter-attack, dodge, etc. The attacker however can find out twists and turns to use Logic against the opponent, making it undodgable, can't be parried, etc.

To KO someone, you must have 8 attack hit sucessfully + a finishing move OR 4 Mortal Wounds (Neck/Head & Heart and attacks that go through the body completely.)

-A finishing move is an auto-hit, after the eighth hit, the opponent can't do anything Mortal Kombat style, and you decide how to finish off your opponent. AKA Fatality

-Breaking a limb will result in a NORMAL attack but incapacitate/disable that limb.

-Poison works for 3 turns (Activation which does no damage, then middle turn, then ending turn, the last two do damage) depending on where the poison entered the body is how much damage it deals per turn. Example: Poison enters the a "mortal hit" area: each hit does 2 damage per turn.

-If Poison enters the body, expect an auto KO, unless you can get around it!

-Also, a major thing about the emote system! It also uses the honor system! Please try not to dodge EVERYTHING.

Eh, not exactly but if there was one you're not allowed more than 10 charactera, once this RP gets started and IF it's active I'll need a GM.

Accepted! I see the Ripple is quite a buff, though OP you're normal tier level, from what I've read so far. Though I may move you up if I see it in use and lots of wina with that. XP

Oh I can nerf the Ripple a lot trust me. I only made it so powerful cause I made him for a group of incredibly powered character. I actually prefer playing characters with more of a weakness.

Fair enough, the RP will start when three more people join.

The lack of popularity for this thread is probably because Emote is a pretty restrictive system. Because there are no degrees of damage (only no damage, damage and vital damage) hard-hitting and/or durable characters are essentially not viable, in the end it all comes down to speed and manoeuvrability. It shuts out a lot of characters that way and depersonalizes others by invalidating things like elemental resistance and standardizing things like poison. It also has its advantages over the system we use here (which some will call T1), but force of habit is powerful and those used to using T1 are unlikely to try Emote.

The extremely low population of the arena section also has something to do with it though.

How does the T1 aystem work, also element restrictions and such are allowed, the hits/health bar will just go into fractions, that's all.

It's largely the same but without the hit points. Just as one individually judges whether or not their characters can dodge an attack, they also decide how much damage their character can take. There's also no standard rules on poison, you would just specify in your CS what it does and how quickly. Basically, the core mechanics are the same but it's far more arbitrary, which has its up and downsides.

Personally, i would be willing to try Emote, if only i wasn't kinda busy already. I'm only one person anyways though. If you used T1 you might attract more of the common arena-goers. Then again, maybe not, it's hard to reliably get a group of people together in the arena in general. It hasn't had a large population in a looong time.

Oh no Emote doesn't have hitpoints either or a poison system that's just THIS RP's mechanics.
